00:10as 2025 draws to a close it's usually a time to look back but for this episode i want to
00:14look
00:14forward at what 2026 offers us on the film front now a small disclaimer this list will be films
00:20that have a sort of release date so no independent films that have not found a distributor yet will
00:24not appear on this list and i should also acknowledge that films released states are
00:27subject to change my previous anticipation list had films that got pushed back so there's a good
00:32chance that some films on this list might be pushed back to 2027 so be cautious of that now before
00:37we
00:37get into the main event let's get to honorable mentions these are films that might come out
00:41next year but don't have release dates if i'm interested in so let's start with
00:48daisy's life masaki russa mind game night is short walk on girl loo over the wall and inuol has another
00:54film coming out from his new studio ame pippin this film is an adaptation of banana yoshimoto's
01:00daisy's life i'm excited to see what yuasa has to offer this time
01:06palangi di mars one of the things i tend to do is try and watch a variety of different films
01:11from
01:11around the world one film i have on my radar is palangi di mars a science fiction film from
01:15indonesia and to my knowledge the country's first it looks good and i hope to see it next
01:19year depending on how it's distributed outside of the country rogue trooper based on the 2000
01:27ad comic rogue trooper sees moon and source code director duncan jones venture into animation using
01:32unreal engine 5 looking by these preview images it looks really good so let's hope it comes together
01:37it also has a stacked cast of great british talent behind it now let's look at the films with solid
01:42at the time of recording release dates at number one it's all you need is kill edge of tomorrow or
01:47i repeat depending on how you call it is getting another girl or just that light novel it's based
01:51on is getting adapted again this time as an anime movie detailing a different perspective from the
01:55novel and the film the animation looks good it has a good self-shaded cgi look that i mistook for
02:002d until further inspection i'm excited to see what this film has to offer
02:06number two clayface and supergirl sharing a spot here because they're both dc universe films and
02:11and the two are films that mark big firsts for this new superhero series supergirl is the series
02:16first female-led superhero film clayface the first film focusing on a villain there's also some of
02:21the universe's first projects not directed by james gunn so it's interesting to see what directors
02:24create gillespie and james watkins bring to the table with clayface it's first horror project for
02:29the universe which is a rare thing in this genre and has a screenplay by mike flanagan inspired by the
02:34batman animated series episode of feet of clay i'm also excited to see supergirl as it's inspired by
02:38tom king's great woman of tomorrow storyline and it looks a lot of fun both films have a lot of
02:42interesting things going on for me number three coyote versus acme coyote versus acme is finally
02:50getting released in 2026 the film was shelved by all the brothers for the tax white off but due to
02:56backlash they reversed the decision and led the film to be shopped around to other studios and
02:59how it'll be released by ketchup entertainment that's great seeing a film be released but then
03:04there's the premise of the film which sees wily coyote sue acme products in court for failing him
03:08all those years in his attempts to capture the road runner i love looney tunes i love wily coyote
03:13i love the premise i love that it's getting released it's also co-written by james gunn so i'm pretty
03:17damn excited about this number four disclosure day steven spielberg nuff said
03:27number five i love boosters in 2018 boots wily's excellent debut sorry to bother you was a wild movie
03:33in 2026 he brings up his follow-up with i love boosters a film about shoplifters the film's
03:38cast include kiki palmer naomi yaki taylor page demi moore don cheedle and many more
03:43i've definitely got this film penciled in and hopefully it's going to be released in the uk
03:46unlike solid above you
03:50number six mononoke the movie chapter three the curse of the serpent i feel like the mononoke movies
03:55are pretty underrated some of the best animated films i've seen recently and 2026 offers us the
03:59conclusion to the medicine sellers escapades in the yoku this one seems to finally involve the shogun
04:03who's made sporadic appearances in the films and could possibly type other mysteries that have popped up
04:08about the yoku in the films well i'm probably going to have to watch the films by now if they'll
04:11answer
04:12my questions
04:15number seven resident evil zach cragger fresh off barbarian and weapons is doing a
04:19resident evil movie i hope it brings the level of crafty mystery and darkly humorous horror to this
04:23video game adaptation which its source material has managed to tell the line between silly and scary so
04:28i'm really excited for this
04:32number eight the legend of ang the last airbender avatar last airbender is probably one of the big gen
04:38z touchdowns like what styles was for gen x and insert recent reboot slash revival here for millennials
04:43so it's getting a movie the film will focus on a gang as young adults with a new voice cast
04:48including steven ewan azuko and deon kwan as toff who is legally blind which we you don't usually see
04:53someone with a disability like that headline a film animated or other eyes the film also will be
04:57directed by lauren montgomery an animation veteran who worked on both last airbender and legend of
05:01kora and also some of the best dc animated movies like greenlands and first flight and batman year
05:05one
05:08number nine the social reckoning david fincher and aaron stalkin's the social network was one of the
05:12most prescient films of the 2010s in regards to how facebook and the larger tech world would affect
05:16our lives one way or another now aaron stalkin directs the sequel 16 years later in a world where
05:21the tech industry seems to have made our lives not good so it'll be interesting to see how this film
05:25tackles that number 10 28 years later of a bone temple i love 28 years later one of my favorite
05:33films of 2025 the sequel sees nina costa take the director's chair from danny boyle i'm excited to
05:38see where the sequel goes to and i love to costa's other films i'd like to see how a non
05:41-brit handles
05:42the material consumed 28 years later had a very british cultural sense about itself so those are the
