00:00You know, often you can define something by what it's not. So anyway, maybe what working class was
00:06was always a little slippery, to be honest. It wasn't white collar jobs. I think that was sort
00:12of for the latter half of the 20th century was how we thought about it. And so white collar jobs
00:18were, you know, educated people, better paid, more job security, all these sort of nice things.
00:24And AI certainly undermines a little bit of that. Maybe now you can do a white collar job without
00:32a college degree, because some of those skills can be replicated with AI. Your job maybe may not be as
00:38secure as it once was, it is easier for someone else to do it, or not have a machine do
00:44it all
00:44together. So certainly the middle class sort of plight in the 20th century was the mechanization
00:50that was taking over their jobs. And now that is coming for white collar jobs. Also,
00:56the AI might put a higher premium on physical labor, because that is something AI can't do.
01:03Like, you know, a plumbers, for example, very much in high demand right now. Yes. And are pretty much
01:09an AI proof profession. AI cannot snake your drain. But a plumber can and they have more job security
01:15than everyone else. Could you really call them working class?
