00:08So this was a sensational film at the back then and it's quite difficult in Japan to make films
00:18like this but his excuse is this idea is from original film so this is how it is and that's
00:27how I can make films freely by putting responsibility on the previous films producer and director.
00:36So his character doesn't think himself as a bad lieutenant but more he struggles he gets
00:46into deeper hole so he wants to come back but it's hard for him to come back so that's
00:52probably the difference between the previous films. Gwen, the role I play is pretty mysterious
00:58character you know that she works for the FBI but it feels as if there's baggage and ulterior motives
01:06going on and I think she singles out Yabuki because she can see that he will be useful
01:14to her and has kind of you know knowledge outside of the police and maybe with the Yakuza
01:21and so their forms they're kind of a mirror to each other they're both both characters
01:26are kind of in distress and kind of edging toward rock bottom and they kind of get implicated
01:32in all the action together and you're not sure if they trust each other or not and there's
01:38quite a beautiful arc to their story and and actually there's some very in amongst this
01:42sort of very explosive chaotic film there's some very tender moments between Yabuki and Gwen.
01:52So it's sort of a new type of a film for Japanese films and with working with neon there's a
02:00new
02:00essence however my own character is very much like Mieke film's character so I was very happy
02:07to act in his film. I'm a very clean person usually and I had to play such a dirty character
02:17so I
02:18really didn't want to do it. I loved I loved it so much existing in this world coming to Tokyo
02:25it's a place I really love very much and have explored before but coming to work there in the
02:31most amazing locations and doing the wildest and craziest stuff and working with these guys and
02:39Mieke-san leading and you know I felt like I learned to trust my instincts again and maybe I'd lost
02:49that
02:49and to kind of throw yourself in and not think and as an actor I can overthink so this job
02:56was very
02:56meaningful for me and I hope to take what I learned working with Mieke-san and Shun and you know
03:03all
03:03together into future work.
03:07So in Japan young people they go to movie theaters to kind of like be familiar to watch familiar movie
03:15so
03:16they're familiar with the story because of comic book or whatever right so this is quite different
03:23so you go see this film you you can tell you're different from other audience and you know everybody
03:30watching this film enjoy different parts of the movie so that's how people should enjoy the films and but
03:42before Japan release this is a premier world premier in Toronto so he's very looking forward to reaction of Toronto
