Tornado Moves Across Open Fields Beneath Massive Rotating Storm In Illinois

Some storms don’t arrive with a bang so much as a steady, unmistakable presence.

The filmer, Dylan, recorded a long-tracking tornado moving northeast of Effingham, Illinois. A wide view shows a supercell with a dark, rotating base as a tapered funnel extends toward the ground in the distance. The camera follows the tornado across open fields while the storm structure looms overhead.

The slow movement and clear shape make the scene feel measured and stark, even from far away. The clip ends with the tornado still visible beneath the same heavy cloud base.
