Watch as a powerful tornado evolves through multiple stages of its life cycle during a remarkable storm-chasing encounter in the American Midwest.

Dakota Brown from Alabama, USA captured the striking footage of the Truman-Amboy tornado as it developed beneath a massive rotating supercell.

The video shows the tornado beginning as a complex multi-vortex system, with smaller swirling circulations rotating around the main funnel.

As the storm intensifies, the tornado gradually consolidates into a more defined and fully condensed funnel stretching from cloud base to ground. Debris can be seen swirling near the surface while dark storm clouds churn overhead.

By the end, the camera reveals the enormous structure of the parent thunderstorm towering above the tornado.

The footage was shared online and Dakota Brown said: "I captured this amazing life cycle of the Truman Amboy tornado as it transitioned from a multi vortex tornado to a fully condensed tornado."
