00:24I personally is a fan of William Morris, who in the second half of the 19th century initiated
00:33the arts and crafts movement.
00:35So I think in today's world, his calling is still relevant, you know, the combination
00:42of arts and crafts, the inspiration from the nature, the authenticity of materials and hand
00:51making and also the accessibility to our daily life.
00:56So I think here in London, we can talk to each other, understand each other.
01:03And together we can create something new, a new kind of conscious, simple, but also quality life.

01:23Rooted in Eastern Fort, the exhibition at Somerset House draws on Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism
01:30to argue that objects reflect the mind.
01:35Organisers say the exhibition challenges assumptions about the relationship between maker, object and viewer.
01:41For the past 10 years, I've been interviewing and documenting the development of craftsmanship.
01:49And I think in the era of artificial intelligence, we need to rediscover the wisdom and the beauty of hand
01:56making.
01:57You know, that's the way how we perceive the world.
02:00We tell the different qualities of materials, we focus on the present.
02:08We have this mind-body unity in the process of creating.
02:14And also through these objects, human beings are connected with each other and being inspired by each other.
02:20So I think it's very meaningful to emphasize the value and importance of hand making in this very automated time.
02:30And secondly, I want to showcase a younger generation of Chinese talents in arts and design.
02:37So by scale and diversity, a reviving craft exhibition is unprecedented.
02:45And we are very proud to present it to the public of London,
02:50which is a very important capital of arts and design and crafts.
