00:00UMNO will launch a fund to help former Prime Minister Najib Razak pay the RM50 million fine required under his
00:07conditional pardon.
00:09UMNO President Ahmad Zahir Hamidi called on party leaders, members and supporters to contribute voluntarily,
00:16saying the fund would be managed transparently and in accordance with the law.
00:20The conditional pardon allows Najib to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest until August 23rd, 2028,
00:27provided he pays the RM50 million fine and complies with all conditions imposed.
00:33The Legal Affairs Division said Yang Diputuan Agung Sultan Ibrahim granted the conditional pardon
00:39following the Federal Territory's Pardons Board's 64th meeting today.
00:43Najib, 73, has been serving a reduced six-year sentence at Kajang Prison
00:48after the Pardons Board halved his original 12-year term in February 2024.
00:54His original RM210 million fine was also reduced to RM50 million.
01:00Zahid welcomed the development with gratitude, describing it as meaningful to Najib,
