00:00Paketan Harapan will not be involved in next week's pro-Najib rally, according to Prime
00:06Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
00:08Past Secretary General Taqiuddin Hassan had earlier issued an internal party memo saying
00:12the rally will focus on Najib's appeal for leave to commence judicial review proceedings
00:16over the purported royal addendum.
00:19The rally is being held on the day the Court of Appeal will hear Najib's application
00:23for leave to adduce fresh evidence in his appeal to serve the remainder of his jail
00:27term under house arrest, an order which he claims was issued in a supplementary decree
00:32to the February 2 announcement.
00:34Separately, DAP Chairman Lim Kwan Eng has turned down an invite by PAS to attend the
00:38rally, citing the bullying against his two party colleagues and the Attorney General's
00:43Chamber's statement on the pardon application last Saturday.
00:46In a statement, Lim said he would reject the invite by PAS as the Islamic Party was holding
00:51a rally against two ministers from the DAP, Min Auk Hormin and Hannah Yeo.
00:56Min Auk Hormin, the local government and housing minister, was recently criticized over a Christmas
01:01celebration at his ministry's office in Putrajaya as it involved Muslims, while Yeo
01:05was accused of attempting to convert Muslims to Christianity or working towards turning
01:10Malaysia into a Christian nation.
01:13Lim also criticized the U-turn PAS took on the 1MDB scandal, adding that the party had
01:17demanded Najib be arrested and charged in 2018 and was now disregarding due process
01:23by organizing a rally for the former Bagan MP.
