00:00In four years that Biden was president, you know how many times I spoke to him?
00:04Zero.
00:05Oh, wow.
00:06And you're in the Oval Office all the time now.
00:09And that, by the way, I am.
00:12That was not unique to me.
00:15No Republican senator spoke to him.
00:17We would sit around at lunch and talk about the fact that none of us were talking to Biden.
00:21And that's weird.
00:21Listen, when Obama was president, I spoke with Obama regularly.
00:25With Trump as president, I speak to him every week, sometimes every day.
00:28Does he speak to Democrats?
00:30Oh, yeah.
00:30Yeah.
00:31President Trump does all the time.
00:33President Trump talks to everybody.
00:34He talks to reporters.
00:35As you know, he answers his phone and answers reporters' questions.
00:38I mean, there's never been a president like Donald Trump.
00:43Your relationship with him is interesting because I've seen you two together and you're very pally.
00:48Yeah.
00:48Very friendly.
00:49And I think he regards you as his strongest supporter in the Senate.
00:54I think very much so.
00:56Or most effective.
00:57You know, look, I have been for more than a decade, I've been a strongest ally and we have been
01:02shoulder to shoulder in a lot of battles.
01:04And yet when you started off, I mean, back in Iowa in 2016, you beat him and he was pretty
01:15vicious to you.
01:16You were last man standing between him and Hillary Clinton.
01:21And so – and you've put all that rancor aside.
01:26Is that your nature to do that or have you made a calculated, shrewd decision that there's no point being
01:31on his bad side?
01:33I'd say it's a little different than that.
01:35Number one, I think that's one of the reasons we're such good friends.
01:38Right.
01:39Because in that 2016 campaign, I was the only candidate who beat him over and over again.
01:47I won 12 states.
01:48And he and I stood in the arena and I punched him in the face as hard as I could.
01:53And he punched me in the face as hard as he could.
01:55And we kept on going.
01:56And I will say, look, President Trump, I think, respects someone who has backbone, someone who's a fighter.
