00:00Now, when you bought the New York Liberty, you personally got involved in helping to turn the team around.
00:06What were the steps you took to really enhance the team?
00:09People do ask, what were the moves we made to improve the team and to take it to a championship
00:14level?
00:15Because it happened pretty quickly. Like, within five years, we won a championship.
00:18The most important and first move that we made was to move the team from Westchester County Center to Barclays
00:25Center.
00:25After that, we started to invest, and we invested in player health and performance.
00:31We invested in management talent, and we invested in facilities.
00:37Then we recruited a team that could compete, and that started with recruiting the top free agent in 2023, Brianna
00:45Stewart.
00:46And at the same time that this was happening, the marketing team was busy thinking about the fan experience.
00:52And so we built an experience in the arena that was, frankly, rooted in the culture of Brooklyn.
00:59So all of the fan experience and the music and the dance and the art around what goes on in
01:06the fan experience was really Brooklyn-related.
01:08And since Brooklyn is so artsy, it naturally sort of had a cool factor.
01:12You put a lot of time and energy into it. You got to know the players pretty well.
01:16And you won a championship.
01:18Yeah.
01:19So what was it like winning a championship?
01:21I think a joy that makes any other business success that I've had, you know, pale in comparison.
01:28I think you experience, you taste it.
01:32It is so sweet that you automatically feel like you want to do it again.
