00:02Like, I don't think this is a guy, because of just the nature of his game
00:05and how he plays, that he's going to have a lot more opportunities
00:08and a lot more cracks at being a rotation player on a championship-caliber team.
00:13This is probably the last bit, and it took a team that was super desperate
00:17to find a backup center that was willing to give him this kind of role.
00:20So for him, I think there's a lot of personal things to prove.
00:22One, he's playing kind of back home. He's from this area.
00:25Two, he has an opportunity to win a championship as a vet who's been around this league
00:28and hasn't really been all that close to winning a title.
00:31And then three, if he does not do any of those things,
00:34we can be looking at Andre Drummond coming into next season.
00:36We see other bigs having to sign over in Europe, having to sign over in other countries.
00:40Like, could Andre Drummond be one of those guys that's playing in Greece or Spain next year?
00:43From a practical standpoint, he's going to have a lot to prove for me
00:45in terms of what he has to bring to the table.
00:47He's got to be able to be that offensive rebounding presence that Mitchell Robinson was.
00:51I think that the expectation is, even though he's not a great free-throw shooter,
00:54he will be able to actually hit some free throws,
00:56and that will be something that the Knicks won't have to be concerned about
00:59in terms of having to take him off the floor.
01:00But the big thing is, Mitchell Robinson is such a great defensive anchor.
01:04Drummond has fallen off considerably in terms of what he used to be as a defender.
01:08Can he find a way to still be a shot-blocking presence?
01:10Can he be a presence in the middle?
01:12And can he be somebody that the Knicks don't have to hide
01:14or other teams won't have to attack or pick and roll?
01:16Because Mitchell Robinson, as big as he was,
01:18he was not somebody that teams went after because of how great he was.
