00:09Bato De La Rosa. Padilla is directed to appear before state prosecutors on September 25 and
00:14October 9, 2026 at the DOJ headquarters. Rappler reached out to Padilla for comment,
00:20but he had yet to respond as of posting. In May, the police filed an obstruction of justice
00:24complaint against Padilla for allegedly facilitating De La Rosa's escape from the Senate.
00:29It can be recalled that De La Rosa went into hiding to evade an international criminal
00:33court warrant for alleged crimes against humanity. He reappeared on May 11 to back Senator Alan Peter
00:38Cayetano's bid for the Senate presidency but was chased by National Bureau of Investigation agents.
00:43He left the premises on May 14, hours after a shooting incident, and has remained out of public
00:49view. Padilla was named the person of interest by the National Bureau of Investigation after video
00:54footage showed De La Rosa hitching a ride with him at around 2.30 a.m. on May 14.
