00:06But when Thanos eliminated half of all life in the universe,
00:08he basically cut off their source of energy.
00:10That snap didn't just affect people,
00:11it delayed the emergence of a new celestial by five years,
00:14which clearly goes against the interests of these cosmic entities.
00:16Even so, no god did anything.
00:18First, not all gods in the Marvel Universe are the same.
00:20At the top of the hierarchy are the Celestials and the Watchers.
00:23Cosmic beings with an absurd amount of power,
00:25but with a policy of non-interference.
00:27They only observe, they don't act.
00:28Below, below them we have the pantheonic gods,
00:30such as those from Greek or Norse mythology.
00:32They are powerful, but they are still advanced beings,
00:34tied to specific cultures or individual planets.
00:36And finally, we have the Egyptian gods, as we saw in Moon Knight.
00:39Some of them can even be surpassed by heroes with technological armor,
00:42such as Iron Man.
00:42In other words, not even the combined strength of these gods
00:45would be a match for Thanos with the six Infinity Stones.
00:47Perhaps the real question isn't why the gods didn't stop Thanos,
00:50but why Thanos didn't simply duplicate the resources of the universe.
