00:08You know, it's something that we're concerned by, but we want to make sure that we actually regulate smartly and
00:13we're thoughtful about the risk here.
00:16So there are obviously risks to AI, there are some benefits to AI.
00:19I have to say just personally, I feel a little bit weird about the fact that you have so many
00:27frontier AI tech companies kind of coming to the government and begging the government to regulate them.
00:33It feels a little bit to me like a bit of a Trojan horse.
00:35So I think we just have to be careful about this.
00:38The other thing the president said pretty consistently is we know that the Chinese are engaged in this long-term
00:43AI race against the United States.
00:45We want to make sure the United States, we do things smartly, but we stay ahead of the curve.
00:49I don't think Americans should be scared of anything.
00:53I think that we have to be mindful that there are risks, there are downsides to anything, and that's certainly
00:58true of AI.
00:59On AI regulation, do you think Congress should take the lead, or do you want to see administrative executive authority
01:05work?
01:05Well, obviously the best way to do it would be consensus between both Congress and the administration.
01:10We obviously have a lot of folks on both sides of the aisle with a strong opinion,
01:13but any regulatory regime you'd like ideally Congress and the White House to agree on it
01:18so that we actually are able to make it stick and so that we actually get some real consensus behind
01:23it.
