01:23The legal proceedings involving Vice President Sara Duterte have raised questions about accountability due process and the limits of executive
01:34immunity.
01:34With the impeachment trial continuing and a separate criminal case now before the courts, there is much for the public
01:43to understand.
01:44Let's look deeper and think better.
01:47Today, we go Beyond the Headlines with Attorney Glenn Chong as we examine the legal issues surrounding the vice president's
01:54cases, what the law provides, and what the public should be watching as these proceedings unfold.
02:01Hello, Attorney Glenn, and welcome back to Beyond the Headlines.
02:07Thank you so much for having me in your program again and thank you, Susan Starr.
02:12I'll do my best to share my views on your questions.
02:17Yes, and we are also just as grateful because at least if we look at Article 1 of the vice
02:24president's impeachment, it's already winding down.
02:27And the prosecution already decided not to continue with, I think, 15 other witnesses that they initially listed to take
02:38the witness stand.
02:40And if I remember it correctly, this is also the longest article in the four.

05:13You have to take into account that the vice president enjoys overwhelming support during the election.

08:44Because there is no indication also coming from the prosecution,

08:50that they want Colonel Lachica to take the witness stand.
