00:32think the obvious ones the ones that we see all the time in mass media is supporting those on the
00:38front lines supporting the essential workers supporting those who are in hospitals right now
00:42And I'm putting I'm donating a lot to those causes but the cause that's really near and
00:47dear to my heart is anxiety because there's so many people who suffer with anxiety 24-7
00:53It's actually my mom's charity she she put this anxiety thing together and it's called allitt
00:59akes.org and she does these live webinars giving people tools to deal with their anxiety amongst this crisis

01:16I love Jack but I got to deal with the fact that now I know you you're making me

01:22I don't need to be a wedge in your friendship
01:24I found your character Daphne so interestingly flawed what was it that resonated with you
01:31For me I think it's really interesting to see a female who has multiple intimate partners who doesn't
01:39have her together who is incredibly flawed
01:41You know a lot of us have relationship dynamics like this in our lives
01:47A lot of us don't overanalyze decisions that we make and and that was something that
01:52I thought was really interesting about Daphne
01:54I'm tired of hurting people
01:59I don't know how to stop
02:01You spend a lot of on-screen time with both your co-stars Sebastian Stan and Jamie D
02:07orn
02:07It was very interesting to me watching because we see two different versions of Daphne
02:14I mean my sort of philosophy with acting is all it is is being a professional listener
02:21I don't think there's really much else to it
02:24So for me the the taking that philosophy and applying it to this movie
02:28It's not about thinking if I'm gonna react differently with Sebastian than I am with Jamie
02:32It's Jamie elicits a different energy from me and Sebastian elicits a different energy from
02:36me
02:36It didn't feel right being alone
02:38It didn't feel right not exploring both of these people

02:43There is a fantastic moment in this movie where we get to hear Shamin Woodley sing
02:49That's not me singing that's Daphne singing
02:52Sorry my apologies
02:55So look you get asked to sing in this scene what goes into that?
02:59That was definitely a specific decision to make my voice sound a certain way
03:04I don't think that Daphne necessarily had a lot of confidence singing
03:07So I wanted to portray that
03:09Oh no I've said too much
03:15I've said enough
03:17It's those small things that those are the bits that I feel like really build characters
03:22for me to understand them better
03:25So what you're saying is basically Shailene has a better singing voice than Daphne
03:28I hope so yes
03:31You've obviously done huge movies like the Divergent franchise
03:35And also smaller more intimate projects
03:38What do you get out of one that you can't get out of the other?
03:41It's hard to compare because I've done some studio films that feel like independent films
03:45And I've done some independent films that feel like studio films
03:47So I think it more than differentiating between blockbusters and low budgets
03:52For me it really comes down to who are the people you're working with
03:55You know George Clooney said to me when we did The Descendants a decade ago
03:59He said it's always the director and it's number one on the call sheet
04:03Who create the energy of a set
04:05And it's completely right
04:07I'd like to also add that it's the director
04:09It's the first assistant director
04:10And it's the number one actor on the call sheet
04:14Those three people truly have the power
04:17To make or break the joy of a film set
04:21So when I retell this story
04:22I'm gonna say that George Clooney told Shailene Woodley who told me
04:26There you go
04:28So because we're all at home
04:30We've got more time to watch some great television and movies
04:33So Shailene what's on your watch list?
04:35I never really watched films or TV which is so funny considering what I do for a living
04:42But I didn't really grow up watching them
04:44So it wasn't something that came into my adult life or carried into my adult life
04:47So I'm watching a movie a day and it feels really rewarding
04:52I've been texting a different friend every night and asking for recommendations
04:56So a few nights ago I watched A Place in the Sun
04:59Which Drake and Remus actually recommended to me
05:02I loved it but it was tragic

05:16Last night I watched a really really fun South Korean film called Wuchi the Demon Slayer
05:21It may be my new favorite movie
05:24It's a bunch of Dao Masters running around and coming in and out of reality
05:29It's sort of like if the Matrix and Inception and maybe a Marvel film became one
05:35That's this film
05:41So that was yesterday
05:42What's today
