00:26rising from a tough upbringing to win the Mulcah by-election in Arnhem Land on Saturday.
00:32I grew up here in poverty as an orphan child, overcrowding house to house,

00:41There was elation at Labor's after-party in Nulamboy,
00:45its candidate winning 78% of the vote against his independent challenger
00:50and gaining the party another seat in Parliament despite recent internal turmoil.
00:55Having six members now in the Labor caucus and the NT Parliament
00:59will show that we're a force to be reckoned with.
01:01I'm not too naive. It's going to be a lot of work ahead.
