00:25It is a great pleasure to be here and to join all of you in this summit.
00:32We are a new member of BRICS and we would like to thank all the founders of BRICS
00:41for receiving us very quickly to be a member of this great new organization
00:53that represents half of humanity.
00:58There is an old Indonesian saying,
01:03Bersatu kita teguh, terpecah kita runtuh.
01:08It means united, we stand strong.
01:12Divided, we fall.
01:14This simple wisdom captures the spirit that brought the Global South,
01:22countries from Asia and Africa together several decades ago in Bandung.
01:31We in the Global South now feel our voice is heard.
01:41Nations that have recently gained independence,
01:45that have fought imperialism and colonialism,
01:50now come together as equals.
01:54We understand that by standing together our voices will carry further.
02:03Our interest can be better protected and advanced.
02:10This lesson remains very important.
02:15By standing together, we also become stronger.
02:20strength always begins at home with our people,
02:27with our ability to feed our people,
02:31to secure the energy that they need,
02:34to educate our children,
02:36and to give them the opportunity to prosper.
02:40That is how we build resilient nations
02:45We do not like to be dictator to
02:51by any one or two powers.
02:56We must be resilient
02:58and then we become really independent.
03:03We have strengthened our foundation
03:05to preserve peace
03:08and to build trust.
03:12With such a strong foundation,
03:16I am convinced that BRICS
03:18continue to strengthen cooperation
03:21in areas that directly affect our resilience.
03:26Energy is one clear example.
03:30We are connecting our energy systems
03:32and strengthening energy security
03:34across our regions
03:37to power our economies
03:38and build lasting resilience.
