00:23Ahrens said he used ChatGPT to summarize trial materials and did not understand how extensively
00:28the system could hallucinate facts. The court said the brief included false testimony from
00:33entirely fabricated witnesses and criticized Ahrens for showing a lack of remorse and concern
00:38for his client. The justices will also refer Ahrens to an attorney disciplinary board for
00:43investigation. Similar AI related errors have led to sanctions against dozens of lawyers.
