00:02A California federal judge dismissed a trade secret lawsuit brought by Elon Musk's XAI against
00:08OpenAI, according to the Wall Street Journal. Judge Rita Lynn ruled that XAI failed to prove
00:14OpenAI recruited former engineers Xwich'in Li to share confidential information about the
00:19Grok chatbot. Lynn had previously dismissed the case in February and allowed XAI to refile.
00:25In her latest ruling, she said further amendments would be futile and barred XAI
00:29from continuing to pursue the case. XAI had initially sued OpenAI in September,
00:35alleging trade secret theft and employee poaching. Musk is separately suing Li over trade secret
00:40misappropriation. Musk lost a separate lawsuit against OpenAI last month, claiming that OpenAI's
00:46leaders manipulated him into donating millions before the company converted to for-profit status.
