00:00Look, he was a disappointment last year because he led the league in drop percentage.
00:04There were just moments where he made some plays, obviously,
00:08but there were moments where you're like, you've got to catch that ball.
00:11How about the fumble versus the Saints?
00:12And the fumble, right?
00:13All those things that ultimately, in some points, cost him games.
00:17We talked about it last week, Sean and I,
00:19how the Giants easily could have won four more games,
00:22maybe even five when you count the NFC North.
00:24All those games came down to it.
00:26The Detroit game went to overtime.
00:29Minnesota, at the end of the season, that game went into overtime.
00:32Obviously, the Saints game, as we were talking about earlier,
00:35there were at least four games, maybe five that the Giants could have won.
00:38And if they win five more games, they're a nine-win team.
00:41And this team is better than them, a bit better than last year's team.
00:45And so, this has to weigh into your thoughts about what our roster is going to look like
00:50and who's going to give us the best chance to win.
00:52Deer Slayton did not have a good camp.
00:54He looked slow, unathletic.
00:58He looked like he was battling things.
01:01And he didn't play with an urgency that you would expect for a guy who was on the roster bubble,
01:05especially with Odell Beckham coming back.
01:07And Odell looking as good as he did, not really knowing what to expect from him.
01:14I think he looked better than I think people thought he would look, Odell Beckham.
01:17And he made this team, and as a result, Deer Slayton was expendable, and he gets cut.
