00:00The reality is that after Jackson Dart left the game,
00:04the efficiency with which the New York Giants operated
00:07in the week one win against the Dallas Cowboys
00:09was completely out the door.
00:11It almost felt like the only way that they were going to stay in,
00:17forget winning, stay in the game,
00:19was if their defense had some turnovers
00:21and probably scored themselves.
00:23Because Jameis Winston struggled mightily,
00:27missing open passes, dirting balls,
00:32not being able to make quick in-game decisions to run or pass,
00:37and he just looked flustered.
00:38The interception was one of the worst throws I've ever seen.
00:40He only threw it because he was getting pressure right in his face
00:43and he didn't know what to do.
00:44And so I was disappointed in the backup, to be perfectly honest.
00:49Oh, how can you not be?
00:50Injuries happen in the NFL.
00:51I get it.
00:51We can opine and we'll talk ad nauseum about what Jackson Dart does,
00:55but it doesn't do anything for you because once a guy's not available,
00:59you can't worry about him anymore.
01:01Jameis Winston needed to be better, and he was terrible.
01:04And that's disappointing to me because we spent a lot of this offseason
01:10talking about how the New York Giants probably had one of the top five backups
01:16in the NFL.
01:17Maybe the top two backups in the NFL,
01:19and he did not prove that last night.
01:21And the Giants didn't have a chance to win,
01:24even though certain guys on defense, Javon Holland to be specific,
01:28was amazing.
01:28He was trying to will the Giants back into this game,
01:32and Jameis Winston kept screwing it up drive after drive after drive.
