Turkey accuses Israel of fueling Mideast conflict

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has sharply criticized Israel over the continuing conflict in the Middle East, accusing the country of worsening regional tensions and undermining diplomatic efforts.

Speaking on Monday, Erdogan said the consequences of the conflict are being felt far beyond Israel and Iran, affecting countries across the Gulf and the wider region.

“Israel’s war, which began with its plots and provocations, is being paid for not only by the Iranian people and our brotherly Gulf countries, but by everyone involved or uninvolved,” Erdogan said.

He also blamed Israel for damaging a diplomatic understanding reached in Islamabad, saying, “It is also Israel’s lies and sabotage that have undermined the Islamabad Agreement, which had allowed our entire region to breathe a sigh of relief.”

Erdogan further warned that what he called a “radical mindset” could prolong instability and create more crises across the Middle East. Relations between Turkey and Israel have continued to deteriorate.
