The Sprinkler Sprinkled (L'Arroseur Arrosé) is one of the earliest comedy films in cinema history, created by the Lumière brothers in 1895.
A gardener is watering a garden when a mischievous prankster steps on the hose, stopping the water. When the gardener investigates, the prankster releases the hose and the gardener gets an unexpected surprise.
A simple gag, but a historic moment in the development of film comedy and visual storytelling.
