00:01Good evening and welcome to a new episode of your show, What's Happening With Us.
00:05Today is Saturday, 5, 19, 26, September 5, 2026, and 23, Rabi Al-Awa.
00:16China issued an urgent warning to Nepal.
00:24Nepal, with another flood or another strong deluge, is likely to hit the country to hit
00:33Nepal and to hit the Nepalese-Chinese border.
00:40China's warnings to Nepal did not come out of nowhere, but the reason for these warnings
00:45is a video that was recorded by satellite.
00:50The Chinese satellites, I'll show you this footage on the screen because of this video
00:56that you're seeing.
01:00China informed Nepal about the ongoing risk of glacial collapse.
01:07Additional ones near the disaster site on the border between the two countries, the site
01:12of the first disaster, the devastating flood that happened about 10 or 12 days ago, as
01:17you can see in this footage captured by the Chinese satellites.
01:21How did it collapse according to the Chinese satellite?
01:24You know, there are hundreds of rivers in Nepal, all of them because of the melting of glaciers
01:29and the glacial lakes in the Himalayas.
01:31They melt and collapse.
01:35Even the satellite is monitoring it, so this melting happens gradually until it collapses.
01:40There are hundreds of rivers that feed Nepal and Nepal uses them because it's a sloped
01:47country.
01:47These rivers come from the Himalayas and they pass through all of Nepal.
01:52So Nepal took advantage of this and built hydroelectric stations along the rivers.
01:58And these are what supply electricity to Nepal.
02:02In fact, Nepal even exports electricity to neighboring countries because of this.
02:08But this same footage, which was captured by Chinese satellites, you detect huge unstable cracked ice
02:18blocks, as you can see in front of you on the screen.
02:23And they could break off at any moment and huge blocks could separate at any moment, causing
02:29a disaster like the one that happened 10 days ago or possibly even worse.
02:34This huge block also falls and forms natural dams.
02:39The huge block falls and forms natural dams in the river itself.
02:44And over time, it melts and holds back the water behind it, causing devastating floods and
02:50a destructive flood surge.
02:51This warning should be taken seriously.
02:55But what is causing it?
02:59This piece of ice, it breaks or becomes unstable.
03:06And why are we starting to see accelerated melting and cracking this ice mass today?
03:15And what if something happens?
03:17Something I already talked about in special episodes for members.
03:22I'll leave you the link to join the channel membership below.
03:28In the first analysis, something caused a huge amount or a huge number of these glacial
03:34lakes to collapse all at once.
03:38What will happen in the world?
03:40Will the face of the world completely change?
03:42Should I say more than that, shall we?
03:45We first wonder, is climate change a main reason for what is happening to the Himalayas
03:51and the glacial lakes?
03:53And remember the giant El Niño phenomenon or the super El Niño, which I have always talked
03:58about.
03:58That was everything.
03:59I was with you Amad Al-Biraa, teacher and host of the show, What's Happening?
