"Der Hohenfriedberger Marsch," also known as "Auf, Ansbach-Dragoner," is a Prussian soldier song about the victory of the Prussians against the Austrians. This song is a part of a trio of Johann Gottfried Piefke's "Königgrätzer Marsch." Historically, Ansbach Dragoner wore white uniforms in contrast to later Prussian Dragoner's blue uniforms. The lyrics were written in 1845 for the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Hohenfriedberg (1745). The lyricist is E. H. Freiberg (1845). The composer is Friedrich der Große.
Citation:
Erk, Friedrich, and Friedrich Silcher. "Auf, Anspach-Dragoner." Allgemeines Deutsches Kommersbuch - Ausgabe B, Verlag Morstadt, n.d.
I do not have access to the book with the sheet music or the physical book to make a proper citation, but this is the closest I can do when I tried searching through the internet with just a few search engines. I wish I did have all the information, but one source of this sheet music points to a book called Allgemeines Deutsches Kommersbuch - Ausgabe B. The websites selling the book never state what published year and which two pages had this specific song.
Context: King Friedrich der Große calls all Dragoner from Ansbach and Bayreuth to ambush against Austrian Prinz Karl's army at Friedbergs Höhen. He calls them to draw their sabers and brave the battle. He encourages all Dragoner to never flee the battle like Herr Oberst von Schwerin and use their sabers, canons, and rifles. In the end, the kind told his Dragoner to halt and clean their sabers because there is no enemy in sight at Friedbergs Höhen.
Lyrics/Text:
1. Auf, Ansbach-Dragoner,
auf, Ansbach-Bayreuth!
Schnall um deinen Säbel
und rüste dich zum Streit!
Prinz Karl ist erschienen
auf Friedbergs Höh'n,
sich das preußische Heer
mal anzusehen.
Drum, Kinder, seid lustig
und allesamt bereit:
Auf, Ansbach-Dragoner,
auf, Ansbach-Bayreuth!
Drum, Kinder, seid lustig
und allesamt bereit:
Auf, Ansbach-Dragoner,
auf, Ansbach-Bayreuth!
Drum, Kinder, seid lustig
und allesamt bereit:
Auf, Ansbach-Dragoner,
auf, Ansbach-Bayreuth!
Drum, Kinder, seid lustig
und allesamt bereit:
Auf, Ansbach-Dragoner,
auf, Ansbach-Bayreuth!
Drum, Kinder, seid lustig
und allesamt bereit:
Auf, Ansbach-Dragoner,
auf, Ansbach-Bayreuth!
2. Haben Sie keine Angst,
Herr Oberst von Schwerin,
ein preußischer Dragoner
tut niemals nicht fliehn!
Und stünden sie auch noch
so dicht auf Friedbergs Höh,
Wir reiten sie zusammen
wie Frühlingsschnee.
