00:00Looking at Bo Perbula, like Virginia, you talk about that offensive line and how well they played, Bill.
00:05Kind of doing it a little bit different way, running your quarterback about 15 times during the game.
00:10We saw him from Penn State. We saw him at Missouri. Got a little nicked up.
00:14In watching him, how well he played, I'm excited to watch that final game of the season when they play
00:20Va Tech with James Franklin.
00:21And I'm almost a little surprised that Virginia Tech and James Franklin didn't go and try to get him out
00:27of the portal
00:28and bring him along, given that's a familiar face that probably knew his system pretty well.
00:32Yeah, you know, that'll be an interesting revenge game of sorts, no doubt.
00:36You know, when you're running 258 yards on 4.7 yards per carry and you can just keep hitting them
00:44with it,
00:44it was early in the game. You saw the matching from the offensive line,
00:50that they were pushing NC State all over the place.
00:54And then on top of it, I was disappointed in NC State's offense.
00:58I know, obviously, C.J. Bailey coming back, they did lose some receiver production.
01:06They lost some offensive line production, but they looked flat off the shoot.
01:09And then so I'm wondering, OK, what does this mean for Dave Dorn?
01:13You're not going to fire a guy after week one, but this is a program that has been eight,
01:17nine wins, kind of living in the middle class of college football, hasn't been able to break through.
01:22And when you suffer a loss like that in week zero, it can put you behind the eight ball.
01:27So they were a team we had fringe top 25, but it was more about Virginia, like you said,
01:32and I didn't even think about that until you said it.
01:35Yeah, yeah.
01:35And that regular season finale, he's going to see Penn State, Penn State's coach,
01:40Penn State's former quarterback, Grunkemeyer.
01:42That will be an interesting game, no doubt.
01:46Did you see the experience of that offensive line?
01:49Man, I believe they have two seven years, two sixth years, and one fifth year.
01:54So, I mean, they've got 10,000 games of experience.
01:57How is that going to be able to help them down the stretch whenever you're getting to those
02:01VATEC games, whenever you're getting to those big time games, and you've got a veteran
02:04O-line to really lean on in a run game that it feels like they really want to stamp and
02:08impress on people?
02:09Yeah, I mean, then that's their identity.
02:12And, you know, when you have that kind of experience on that side of the ball, their defense played
02:17well as well.
02:18So, you know, Tony Elliott might have something.
02:21I think we probably, myself, I'm definitely guilty of this steal, but we probably looked
02:25at Virginia as maybe a little bit of a fluke last year.
02:28Not a fluke.
02:28I mean, you won the games, but, you know, they had a couple of overtime wins that you could
02:33have gone either way.
02:34They get to the ACC championship, they could have very easily made the playoff, and then
02:38they lose to Duke.
02:39But maybe Tony's turned a corner there.
02:42He is a really good coach.
02:43He's a really good person.
02:44So, it's good to see Tony Elliott have success.
02:47But, yeah, it was definitely one of the stories to me.
02:52And then you slid into the, the other one to me is, not to change the subject, North Dakota
02:56State.
02:56That was an amazing environment.
02:58They came out swinging.
02:59They took it to Jacksonville State.
03:01I think teams in the Mountain West are going to have their hands full playing in that Fargo
03:04Dome.
03:06They look like, to do like an Ohio high school comparison, like that Division III or Division
03:12IV team that can step up and swing with Division I teams every once in a while.
03:17That's kind of who they look like, and they're pretty good.
