00:01I got to meet Eddie when he first arrived in WCW a few years back.
00:06And I thought, this is really a great young man.
00:09And all of a sudden, this transformation that we've seen,
00:12it just seems that there's something, some deep-rooted meaning to the turn of events,
00:17to his change of attitude, something disturbing the man that has turned him this way.
00:21Not only did he turn on his fellow wrestlers at WCW, he's turned on his family.
00:25On his family, and Mike, you've often said that Eddie always had this inning,
00:29but I'm not so sure.
00:30Well, Tony, I witnessed it firsthand, I think back to 1994 in the one World's Collide
00:35pay-per-view, leading up to that point, he had turned his back.
00:39Quick attempt at the Cabrata moonsault, nice, arm dragged by Mysterio, so quick,
00:43and he sends Eddie airborne.
00:46I'm gonna tell you what, he flew across that ring right there.
00:49Like a dog.

00:50Cross body, they both go on the outside, Eddie ends up against the safety rail.

01:45His conditioning, his maneuvers in that ring, whether you wanna get on the mat with him
01:49or come off that top rope, he may be the best there is pound for pound today.
01:53Yeah, and we said that, and not only that, add to that, look how he looks.
01:57I mean, the man is ripped.
01:59Look at his upper body development, his arms.
02:01He never looked in better shape than he is right now.
02:03Well, he's bigger and better and got a bad attitude about himself.

02:58But recent head-to-head competition on Nitro, Rey Jr. has a 2-0 edge on Guerrero.
03:03But despite that, I still would have to classify him as the underdog in this matchup.
03:07So difficult to defeat someone of Eddie Guerrero's caliber three straight times, and especially
03:12in this bout where he has the champion's edge.
03:14And that champion's edge, of course, as we know always that you gotta beat him.
03:19He does not have to beat you.
03:21There is a certain time limit for these title matches.
03:23He's gonna rip the mask right off his face.
03:26All right, that's what he's trying to do here.
03:28And you can see the mask a little bit different than normal.
03:31Remember, and we were showing you a portion of this on the countdown to Slim Jim's Halloween
03:36Havoc, that Eddie recently came in the ring, yanked the mask away from Rey Mysterio Jr.
03:42Be very difficult to do that because the mask is part of this bodysuit that he has on here.

03:50That's what he wants to do if that's what he has to do.
03:52There are instances when careers have flourished after losing the mask.
03:56Conan comes to mind immediately.
03:58But in many cases, unmasking is devastating to a wrestler's future and can be career-ending.

06:24You know, Eddie Guerrero is no stranger to the world of masked wrestlers.
06:27We all witnessed that Nitro charade when he was the masked El Caliente.
06:32But I think a lot of people don't realize that years of his international experience
06:36came under the mask.
06:37He wrestled as Black Tiger in Japan and also Mascara Magica, the magic mask in Mexico.
06:43And while he was wrestling as Mascara Magica, Eddie Guerrero became the only wrestler in
06:48Lucha Libre history to dishonor tradition by voluntarily taking off the mask.
06:53And this move is called the Gory Special.
06:55And that's named after his father, the legendary Gory Guerrero.
06:58He might have him uncle-ed right here.

07:54You know, this bitterness that Eddie Guerrero has
07:56towards the charismatic mask wrestlers dates back over 40 years.
08:01We talked about his father, the legendary Gory Guerrero.
08:03He was always in the shadow of his tag team partner, El Santo,
08:07the most famous luchador of all times.
08:09But most experts agree that Gory was a better wrestler than Santo,
08:12but he never received the proper recognition.

08:17Anything you don't know, Eddie Guerrero could be feeling that same situation,
08:22being in the shadows of the Guerrero family, pulling that load all them years,
08:27and right now breaking out on his own, getting out to it.

11:37Well, the ferocity of this match on the part of both wrestlers shows you just how important it is.
11:42You know, one thing about it, Rey Mysterio Jr., as we've talked about so many times,
11:49certainly one of the lightest men in the cruiserweight division.
11:52Therefore, for him to get lateral press, he has to do more than just cross the body.

11:58Split-legged moonsault attempt off the top by Mysterio is blocked, and Guerrero follows with a power bomb.
