00:00Neither side has full control of the strait.
00:03The strait hasn't been operating as it should since Israel and the U.S. struck Iran on the 28th of
00:11February this year.
00:13It's more than six months now.
00:15President Trump likes to have bombastic claims of great control.
00:21But the truth of the matter is that both Iran and the U.S. have partial negative control of the
00:28strait
00:29in the sense that the U.S. is preventing Iranian ships from crossing.
00:34Insurance companies are petrified of allowing ships to cross,
00:39given that Iran, unlike the clip that you have just aired,
00:43still has the capability of targeting ships that cross.
00:51So on the northern side, the side that Iran sits on, the north side of the straits, as you know,
00:57Oman in the south, Iran still has control.
01:00So it's not – we are sort of in a game of very dangerous escalation, and the rhetoric doesn't help.
01:09And I think by now, if the president hasn't understood that military power is not going to be the way
01:16to win this war,
01:18nor the escalatory rhetoric, we're in deep trouble because the Iranians are resilient.
01:27This is their only point of leverage.
01:29That plus the fact that they are shooting left, right and center at their neighboring Gulf states,
01:36the ones that host American bases.
01:39So we're not in a good place.
01:42We thought we were in a better place up until the first day of this month, two days ago,
01:47when the U.S. struck a wedding party.
01:49A four-year-old boy was buried today.
01:52Not all the funerals have taken place.
01:56And, of course, the Iranians are going to ensure that the world sees the strikes that the U.S. carried
02:07out a couple of days ago.
02:10I mean, here you go, Trump is saying that the Iranian missiles are not always accurate.
02:16Well, certainly the U.S. ones haven't reached the targets that they were meant to,
02:21start commencing with a dreadful error by targeting a girls' school that killed over 160 girls on the first day
02:31of the war.
02:32So this isn't the first time.
02:34It's not the last time.
02:35But on both sides, missiles don't always hit the target.
02:40And that is very dangerous.
02:41I just want to add about the escalation.
02:43It's not just an escalation in the strait.
02:46You're seeing an escalation also in Yemen.
02:51And you're on the brink of a very massive escalation also in Lebanon and certainly in the West Bank and
02:58Gaza.
