00:16for the official ceremony to mark the institution's 47th anniversary established on September 2nd
00:231979. It was founded on strong revolutionary values and principles and in tribute to the
00:29Army of National Defense. Let's listen to the statements of the co-president Rosario Murillo.
00:38We're going to read the presidency of the Nicaraguan Republic, co-president Daniel, co-president Rosario,
00:51considering that article 120 of the Constitution of our Nicaraguan Republic establishes the
01:00Republic and the supreme structure of the Army and in accordance with article 125 it falls on the
01:15presidency of the Republic to approve the ranks in terms of General, Vice Admiral, Brigade General.
01:28That the process of modernization and development of the Nicaraguan Army makes it necessary the
01:36systematical application of the principles that govern military infrastructure and also the structure
01:49of the upper ranks. Three that the military council proposed to the presidency of the Republic
02:02to grant a higher ranking official for his merits of General and Brigade Brigadier General.
02:18So the presidency agrees to increase in grant effective immediately from this date on.

04:45by both co-president Commander Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.
04:48As the co-president Rosario was reading in the statement, it falls on the duties of the presidency to approve
04:56this promotion of these upper ranks.
04:59And this Brigadier General, as you saw, received the military rank following the merits that he has achieved during his
05:08military career.
