00:04I got to talk about one and that is paying to go pee. Yes, paying to use a public toilet.
00:10If
00:10you're in Venice and you're trying to find a bathroom, oh yeah, you can go in, but it's a
00:13couple of euros. Oh, you're at the train station here in Germany. Oh yeah, the bathrooms are super
00:17clean. Don't get me wrong. You pay, you pay for what you get. You pay for a toilet. It's going
00:20to be clean, but you're going to have a euro or two to get in. I mean, or the ladies
00:24that look at
00:25you when you come into a toilet, they're like, money, please. Another one that I always kind
00:29of find funny when my American friends travel around, like if they're going to Wales or something,
00:32they're like, wait, all the shops are closing at six. What if I want to shop later? Yeah,
00:37they complain about not being able to shop late at night. Look, that's just not how it's done here.
00:41You don't have the late night shopping. There's not 24 hours shopping. And Americans are so used to,
00:45oh, it's 10 o'clock at night. I'll go hop over to Walmart to grab something. I'll hit up Target
00:49at
00:499 30 or, oh, it's 7 a.m. I'm going to go over to Meijer or something and go shopping
00:53that they don't
00:54realize it's not like that here. So it kind of takes them back. Another one that I actually heard
00:58some tourists complaining about, where's the ice in my drink? Yeah, the lack of ice overall
01:03does upset people. But I always like to think of it this way. This means you get more soda because
01:07you only get one. If you know you only get one soda, give me one ice cube. I don't want
01:11a whole
01:11glass of ice cube and a splash of soda. Also in the restaurants, another thing that gets Americans
01:15is the lack of service. Because in the U.S., it really is. They kind of like fall all over
01:20you
01:20when you go to restaurants to help you because they want to get a tip. It's much more of a,
01:24yes, sir. How can I help you, sir? Yes, ma'am. How can I help you, ma'am? Like over
01:27the top,
01:28super friendly service in the U.S., when Americans come to Europe and Europe, the customer is not king.
