00:00don'ts of visiting Vienna. First don't, and one that will
00:03actually get you in trouble with the locals, is don't be
00:05allowed tourists. Look, when you're here in Vienna, I mean
00:09it is a quiet city. I mean it's quiet. Like here at the cafes,
00:13people have conversations and they're quiet and they're just
00:15sitting there enjoying their coffee and their amazing cakes
00:18and stuff like that, but it's quiet. You're on the public
00:20transportation, it's quiet. You see a group of school kids
00:23walking down the street, it's quiet. I'm like, oh my goodness,
00:26it's amazingly quiet here. And you as a tourist are expected to
00:29be quiet as well. Another thing that really frustrates the
00:32locals with the tourists is actually to do with the
00:34escalators in the U-Bahn or the subway. And that is don't stand
00:39on the left side of the escalator. Look, when you take the
00:43escalators up or down to the U-Bahn or the trains or anything
00:46S-Bahn, anything here in Vienna, remember on the right you stand
00:50and it goes down. If you want to go fast, you go on the left. So
00:53if you're on the left or your bags on the left, the locals
00:56gonna get pissed off at you and they're gonna say something, they
00:58might push your bag out of the way. So help out the Austrians,
01:01the Viennese that are going to work and just move your bags
01:03over and stay on the right side. Don't stand on the left,
01:06okay? Don't just walk on to the subway without getting a
01:10ticket. Now you may say, well, Mark, of course, I mean, you
01:12have to get a ticket to get on a train. Well, actually here in
01:16Vienna, it's open, well, it's open public transportation. So
01:20there's not someone checking your tickets. There's not a
01:23turnstile, you just walk on. And so if you don't have a ticket,
01:26you can actually walk on and ride around. But the thing is, is
01:29don't think there's nobody checking because occasionally,
01:31there are people that go around invest and they'll check and say,
01:34hey, let me see your ticket. Is it validated when it is and
01:37things like that?
