00:00All right, it's your girl Lori Mack here from 105 When The Bounce, and today I have a good surprise.
00:05Not only do I think I'm going to get surprised with one, but four amazing men here to promote their
00:11white party.
00:12I got the one and only, the official Kevin, the owner of Final Cut Barbershop.
00:17What up, though, in the building, along with his crew, the whole of the brothers.
00:22What up, though, y'all?
00:23What up, though? This is B the Barber.
00:24What's the deal?
00:26This Smitty.
00:27We doing everything we're posing to. Let's get it.
00:29Yes, I love that y'all came on in and had some time for me today.
00:33We definitely appreciate you having us.
00:35Yes, absolutely.
00:36So, you know, first, let's start off by talking about Final Cut.
00:39So, it's been around for about, what, 30 years, almost 30 years?
00:42Yeah, well, yeah, I have been the sole proprietor for the last 30 years.
00:47We've been in the community, grooming, giving back, just doing a lot over the years that, you know, we've been
00:54there.
00:54And it speaks volumes.
00:57You know, we've been considered historic at this point.
01:01Really?
01:02That's a blessing.
01:02Oh!
01:03We're here.
01:04But I'm here with my guys.
01:07Got my man Will, Busy B, as well as Big Shine.
01:10We're just here to talk a little bit about, you know, our first annual White Party.
01:15That's right.
01:16That's right.
01:16You know, it's the first.
01:18You know, it's been overdue.
01:20Yes.
01:20But, you know, these guys, they made it happen.
01:23They came to me a couple of months ago talking about, hey, man, we need to do this.
01:27And how does this party?
01:29It's overdue.
01:29I'm like, all right, y'all, let's put it together.
01:31And that's what they did.
01:33Yes.
01:33And I'm hearing this more like a cabaret.
01:36Tell me about it, fellas.
01:38It's definitely going down.
01:39It's the final cut.
01:40The finest.
01:42This cabaret that's slow decayed going on at the conference room at 1-9-5-0-0 Schaefer & Puritan.
01:521-5-9-0-0 Schaefer & Puritan.
01:55There's no gym shoes or white tees available.
01:58I was just about to ask about dress code because, you know, if they wear cream, they wear something plain.
02:04Are they going to get put out or they going to make it through the door?
02:08We out here.
02:08We doing this.
02:09We going to show some love.
02:09This is the first cabaret.
02:10And I don't know when you're private.
02:12Nobody probably came out.
02:13You know what I'm saying?
02:14This is our White Party, August 29th.
02:16My brother.
02:17This is my baby.
02:18You know what I'm saying?
02:18Folks, like, we ain't playing.
02:20We getting it out here.
02:21We going to have fun.
02:22I want everybody to come out.
02:23Everybody have a good time.
02:24It's grown and sexy.
02:25That's what we promote.
02:27I already told you, nobody in my generation got a chance to really experience a cabaret.
02:31So as soon as you said, I started smiling like, oh, really?
02:33Yeah.
02:34All White Party.
02:35You haven't heard no cabarets in a long time.
02:38No.
02:39So when a person talking about a cabaret, you know what I'm saying?
02:42When they hear about that, it's going to be official.
02:45You know what I'm saying?
02:46So, like, man, when I heard about that and I don't even go out, they was like, we buying
02:52all of them tickets because we know you don't go nowhere.
02:55That must be something big.
02:58No, really, though.
03:00Like, for real.
03:01Like, I ain't been out since 2020.
03:05You know what I'm saying?
03:06So, like, my brothers, man, over here, man, I came over here with these guys, man.
03:11They embraced me, you know what I'm saying, with full love, man.
03:15And I come to work and I put in 100% and I get in 100%.
03:21I know that's right.
03:22Thug life.
03:23That's my guy.
03:24That's what I'm saying.
03:25Where would the White Party be at?
03:27Where would it be located?
03:28It's going down August 29th.
03:30The final cut, the finest, at the conference room, 15900, West 7 Mile, Schaefer & Perrotton.
03:38There's no gym shoes or white tees.
03:41Tickets in advance are $10.
03:43You get that at the final cut, 13301, West 7 Mile.
03:48At the door is $20.
03:50Oh, that's it?
03:50That's not bad at all.
03:52That's really good.
03:53So, you know, you can't get tickets in advance, they're $10, and they can come to the barbershop,
03:58which is located at 13303, West 7 Mile.
04:02All them tickets is gone.
04:03You got to come to the, you got to pay at the door.
04:05All them tickets gone.
04:07That's let you know how big it is.
04:09That's how you know it's good.
04:09That's how you know it's going to be good.
04:11That's how you know how big it is.
04:12If the tickets are gone, you definitely can still get in and just show up at the door,
04:18and it's just $20 at the door.
04:20$20 at the door.
04:21Okay.
04:21Wear something nice, suits, preferably.
04:25Presentable.
04:25In the summer.
04:26We keep it together.
04:27You know, we just, yeah, grown and sexy.
04:28That's what it's about.
04:29Yes.
04:30So, you know, I got to know about the story behind all of you fellas.
04:33Okay.
04:33So, you guys all been working together for...
04:36It's been different years for everyone, but, again, the final cut has been there,
04:40and that's been the hub for a lot of barbers, stylists, as well as nail techs over the last 30
04:46years.
04:46That's amazing.
04:47So, you know, many people have came and gone.
04:49And I was just going to ask who is one of your favorite.
04:53Like, I mean, I know you probably have a lot of people that come through.
04:56It's hard to say.
04:57As far as like...
04:58You say who is his favorite?
04:59I'm his favorite.
05:00Oh, you his favorite?
05:01Hey, man, we his favorite, man.
05:03Well, listen, listen.
05:03We've been talking for a long time.
05:04You know, one thing...
05:06You know we got to have...
05:07You know we got to talk.
05:09Your favorite celebrity?
05:10Your favorite celebrity or...
05:11That's my guy.
05:11That's my guy right there.
05:12One thing I can say is that, you know, I love all operators that have came and went, even today.
05:20Because if it wasn't for them, it wouldn't be a final cut.
05:23I can't operate and run that business on my own.
05:27So I take my hat off and I show love and I give love to everyone that have came and
05:31even there to this day.
05:33And I greatly appreciate everyone over the last 30 years, you know.
05:37So, but, you know, so there's everyone.
05:40I love everybody.
05:42What'd you say, B?
05:44If it wasn't him, it wouldn't be no us.
05:46Nah.
05:47That's part he don't understand.
05:48He's so humble, man.
05:49If it wasn't him, it wouldn't be us.
05:51And him is the final cut.
05:53You got to understand that.
05:54I have been there eight years ago.
05:58I left and came back.
06:00I don't beat a bar where I have opened up my own shop.
06:03I still have it.
06:04I still have some things I have to work on.
06:07It's coming back.
06:09But if it wasn't for you, it wouldn't be me.
06:12He always so humble.
06:14I love that.
06:15And it's a boy Big Sean.
06:17I've been in the game about 30 plus years.
06:21You know, I had my shop for 15.
06:22My bro, Big B, he used to work with me.
06:25You know what I'm saying?
06:25But at the end of the day, we all been family since day one.
06:28It don't matter if you fall or you don't fall.
06:31You still can come up.
06:32But then I got my baby Willie Will.
06:34I got my boy T.D.
06:35I got Brandon.
06:36I got Brill.
06:37I got Sean.
06:38We all moved by the same shop.
06:39So that's what we do.
06:41We keep everything moving.
06:42We all family-wise.
06:43And that's what it is.
06:45Right now, today, we out here, we're promoting this white party.
06:48And it's all grown.
06:49It's been all fun.
06:51It's the first cabaret.
06:51It's been all fun.
06:52Talk to him, Willie.
06:53You know what I'm saying?
06:54He ain't playing no games.
06:56I don't want to go on the ziggity, wiggity, man.
06:59You know what I'm saying?
07:00Let's go.
07:00We been having, man, listen, man.
07:02We haven't making fun right now.
07:03Hey, look.
07:04They say, man, look.
07:05They say the white party.
07:06And look, it's so crazy, man, because the final cut is like, it's etching stone.
07:13Like, when people called me, it was like, when I moved, they was like, where you at?
07:17I'm like, the final cut.
07:18They talking about, where the basketball at on the corner?
07:21That's monumental.
07:23Yes, it is.
07:23You know what I'm saying?
07:24That's like a, that's like, you know what I'm saying?
07:27That's something real.
07:28You know what I'm saying?
07:29That's a staple.
07:30And it's hard.
07:31It's hard to keep something like that going.
07:3530 plus.
07:35Especially when, yeah, it's 30 plus and you black.
07:38You feel what I'm saying?
07:38That's hard, man.
07:39It's hard to come by.
07:40It's hard.
07:41That's so hard.
07:42And that's why I take my hat off to him all the time.
07:45Like, bro, you did your thug.
07:48And been doing it.
07:49And going to keep on doing it.
07:51And you do stuff in the community.
07:52And that's why.
07:52Oh, yeah.
07:53We even came out and supported you one time.
07:55The community love it.
07:56Every year.
07:57Every year.
07:58Man, I ate so many Krispy Kremes one day, man.
08:02He had two boxes sitting out there.
08:04I said, damn, how much them cost?
08:07Nathaniel?
08:08Man, let me go.
08:09So when we, when you think about,
08:12final cut, what's, like, who was your favorite celebrity
08:15that might have stepped through and came through that?
08:17I mean.
08:18Might have sat in the chair.
08:19Put it like this.
08:21Come in and look.
08:22When I first started, it was crazy because back then
08:25we didn't have camera phones, right?
08:28So there had been multiple celebrities,
08:31different folks that came through,
08:33but we didn't have camera phones.
08:34So the only thing we, you know,
08:36if you didn't have a camera there.
08:38Oh, you had to do it.
08:38Take a picture of it.
08:39Yeah.
08:39But if we didn't have it, you know,
08:41it was just, it was just a memory.
08:43Right.
08:43A good conversation.
08:45Right.
08:45And so now we look back, yeah,
08:47we remember that person came through.
08:50But, you know, fast forward, you know,
08:52when cameras, you know, phones got cameras,
08:54we're able to capture, you know,
08:56some of the political figures,
08:57comedians, ball players,
09:00rappers, different artists,
09:01you know, over the years.
09:04You know, we, you know,
09:05recently had Governor Whitmore there.
09:08Oh, wow.
09:08You know, just different, you know,
09:10over the years, it's like,
09:10it's too many to name.
09:12Yes.
09:12But the blessing is, is that, you know,
09:14we're there, we've been there,
09:15and, you know, it speaks volumes,
09:17you know, of the people that we've networked
09:20and politicked with and Bill Bridges with
09:22over the years.
09:23And because, you know,
09:24for them to come on Seven Mile,
09:27you know, you know,
09:29it speaks volumes, you know.
09:30So, it's been a blessing.
09:32Well, Kwame Phil Patches was running in the air.
09:34He was there.
09:35Oh, yeah.
09:35He was there.
09:36He was there.
09:37When he was running in the office,
09:38he was there.
09:40Shout out to Kwame.
09:41Shout out to Kwame.
09:42That's still my dog.
09:43Shout out to Kwame.
09:44I still love him.
09:46I love it.
09:47And that's why I'm just,
09:48I know you've had a lot of good conversations
09:50with a lot of community leaders.
09:52I mean, and it makes,
09:53it always comes back to Final Cut.
09:55And where do you want to shape it
09:57in the next 30 more years,
10:0030 plus years?
10:01Where do you see yourself?
10:02Well, the goal is definitely to look
10:05to pass down generational wealth to my child.
10:09And that's with the business
10:10as well as the real estate.
10:12I so so.
10:13But I look to continue for the next 30 years
10:16doing the same thing
10:17and just continue to get better
10:19and continue to give back to the community,
10:22give jobs to licensed barbers
10:25and nail techs and stylists
10:28and just kind of continue to stay in the community
10:31and just active.
10:33That's the plan.
10:34You know, what we've been doing
10:35and just taking it on another level.
10:38He's still going to look like this
10:3930 years from now.
10:41You know, your mama don't try,
10:42you know, you come from your mama,
10:43you know what I'm saying,
10:44you know, back in the 80s.
10:46We don't see any, you know what I'm saying?
10:48We still look good at 50.
10:50Yeah.
10:5132 and 33.
10:52Yes, you do.
10:53Yes, you do.
10:54We all do.
10:56Yes, y'all do.
10:57You got to take care of yourself.
10:58We still looking good.
10:59We still popping.
11:00But at the end of the day,
11:01come on.
11:03I love it.
11:04No, really, though.
11:04We welcome everybody.
11:06Yes, sir.
11:07Kids, they come down to the shop.
11:09Women come down there.
11:11Can I drop my son off?
11:12I'm about to run to the nail tech.
11:14Go ahead.
11:14Drop him off.
11:15It's family orientated.
11:17Ain't nothing going to happen.
11:17Let him sit down.
11:18Let him shoot basketball, everything.
11:20It's like...
11:21I might have found a new barber shop.
11:22I've never been to a shop.
11:24I've been cutting hair since 86.
11:27I've been cutting the shop since 99.
11:29I've never been to a shop like this
11:31ever in my life.
11:33It's a blessing.
11:34You know what I'm saying?
11:35And I always tell him,
11:37I love him from the rooter to the tooter.
11:43Appreciate it, bro.
11:44But that's the truth, though.
11:45We got all the kids, autism.
11:47We got kids that...
11:48Oh, my God.
11:49You can handle anybody.
11:50No matter.
11:51Anybody.
11:52We tend to everybody.
11:53Oh, I love that.
11:55Everybody.
11:56Everybody gonna get 10, too.
11:57We make sure you get 10, too.
11:59There's no out the gate.
12:01If we can't, we got to help you.
12:02We ain't about to let you lick the dough.
12:03I know that's right.
12:04So I know you guys do a lot of events.
12:06Do you have any more community events that you have coming up or have done in the past?
12:10Well, the first week of September, we're looking to give back to the kids and have a back-to-school
12:15event,
12:16giving away backpacks and just school supplies.
12:19Okay.
12:19The first weekend in September.
12:22But probably also in November or October, we'll be doing, you know, kind of like a get-out-to-vote.
12:32Oh, yes.
12:33And, you know, kind of just kind of encouraging folks to register to vote and get out and vote.
12:39Oh, because that is important.
12:40That is.
12:40Okay.
12:41Your voice won't get heard if you don't go vote.
12:42Absolutely.
12:43Absolutely.
12:43That's awesome.
12:44I love that.
12:45So you got something going every month, it feels like.
12:48Usually.
12:49But, you know, at this point, you know, we're just trying to make sure, especially with the kids going back
12:54to school now,
12:55make sure that they're good.
12:56You know, they're another one.
12:57Okay.
12:58Can't wait.
12:59Can't wait for them to go back to school.
13:01Stop it.
13:02What's up?
13:02What's up, B?
13:03I have one.
13:04I have a son.
13:05What's up, B?
13:05You quiet.
13:06You quiet over there.
13:07Give us some of that English, man.
13:10You know what I'm saying?
13:12Mark, what you expecting from the white party?
13:14Talk about it, man.
13:15What I'm expecting from the white party is everything go down just right.
13:19Grown is sexy.
13:20It's going to go over.
13:20Everybody have a good attitude.
13:22Eat good.
13:24You know what I'm saying?
13:25And represent the final cut.
13:27Because the final cut is representing this.
13:30You know what I'm saying?
13:31It's a celebration.
13:32It's a celebration.
13:33We put in good work, all work, clippers in our hand.
13:37Yes.
13:37Now we want to celebrate with the clippers out our hand with our staff and other friends that we don't
13:44know.
13:45I love that.
13:46Including y'all two beautiful ladies.
13:48Make sure y'all come to the final cut cabaret.
13:50Okay, listen.
13:51My first cabaret, I wasn't missing for the world.
13:53So before we get out of here, you know, I want to talk about rewards.
13:57Awards, rather.
13:59Awards.
13:59Are you getting awarded something soon?
14:01Or have you had awards in the past?
14:04Well, over the years, we definitely have received awards from the state of Michigan, from the city of Detroit.
14:10Wow.
14:12Motor City Match.
14:13We've received grants from the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation.
14:19So again, we've been recognized as being historic in the city of Detroit.
14:27And again, so again, it's just been a blessing.
14:30I want to say that's a blessing.
14:31That's amazing.
14:32So we still continue to look to do our thing in the community, you know.
14:37I'm excited.
14:38Without the service, without the long wait.
14:40And just, you know, grooming the community.
14:43Okay, well, hopefully you can take my son.
14:45He's 10 and he's ready for a new chair.
14:47Okay, he might have the kitchen.
14:49You're going down.
14:50You're going down to get them haircuts, man.
14:52He only took care of real good.
14:53I love that.
14:54I'm going to put him in the Tubi movie.
14:55Hey, we Krispy Kreme donuts out here, man.
14:58What advice would you give your 20-year-old self today if you could?
15:02Just looking back.
15:03When I went to barber school and I had my first son and I was going to work, coming back,
15:13you know, going back to work, whining, my grandma say, you went to school, you know what I'm saying, you
15:20went to school to cut people's hair, you ain't got this frown under the, you ain't got to frown under
15:26them, you know who I'm talking about, them people.
15:28You ain't got to work up under the frowns of them.
15:30So I took that and I just said, if I can get up, if this man tell me to get
15:37up at 9 o'clock, no, if he tell me I got to be at work at 9 o'clock
15:40and I can be, and I can get there at 845, I should be able to do the same thing
15:46for my customers.
15:47You know what I'm saying?
15:49That's the biggest part.
15:50You can't act like you're the only person that do it because you know what they'll do.
15:53They'll show you that you're not.
15:55Yeah, absolutely.
15:56So that's how I go.
15:57That's what I really put down.
15:58I put that down because I have, I have stopped cutting hair for years, went back cutting.
16:05It's like, it's been, it's like, it's been, but where I'm at now, it's like, where, it's like, I'm focused
16:11now.
16:12You know what I'm saying?
16:13I'm, I'm, I'm just, I'm, I'm focused now.
16:15I'm not all over the place with, you know what I'm saying?
16:18Everything.
16:18But that's, that's the biggest thing with me.
16:21You know, just getting there for my customers and being there for them and acting like, you know, let, I
16:27mean, letting them know that I appreciate them.
16:29Because you can't act like they, like they, that you don't appreciate them because they'll go somewhere else.
16:34Right.
16:34They don't care.
16:35They like, you ain't the only person to go on YouTube, all them young guys putting all them, them cuts
16:40out.
16:40You know what I'm saying?
16:41Like, if you got 15, 20 customers, 30 customers, you know what I'm saying?
16:46That's, that's good.
16:47That's your customers.
16:48Then you get more customers from the cuts that you're doing.
16:52That's even better.
16:53That's true.
16:54You got 100, 200 customers.
16:56I mean, you can live.
16:57It can add up.
16:58And then you got loyalty.
16:59You know, you can't cheat on your barber.
17:01That's what I hear.
17:01See, the thing is, though.
17:02See, the thing is, it's consistency.
17:05And you gotta be, you gotta be there.
17:08Shouldn't nobody be calling your phone, talking about, uh, I'm up at the shop.
17:12Where you at?
17:13It's just, that's old, the old school, you know what they used to do back in the day?
17:18Call the shop phone.
17:21Hey, Urban Cut.
17:22House phones.
17:23I remember the old pages.
17:24That's when I used to be, when I first started, Urban Cut.
17:28This is 99.
17:29So it's just like, you know, everything now is this right here.
17:34That's all it is.
17:35If you don't answer, you don't go, they'll go somewhere else.
17:37That's true.
17:38What about you, Kev?
17:39So just keep your, just keep everything together.
17:41That's all I, that's all I say.
17:43One thing I want to say is that, you know, at this point, or this day and age, the youth
17:48have all the tools at their fingertips.
17:52Whether it's AI, chat, GTP, T, or YouTube, Google, everything is at their fingertips to
18:01learn different things of the world of business and to be successful.
18:05So it's really no excuse.
18:07When I was coming up and first starting and just got the final cut, it was struggles,
18:13you know, from the banks, you know, any lender, like I just, you know, it was struggles.
18:21But, you know, now it's, it's, it's, it's so, I'm not going to say it's easy.
18:26It's still leg work that you have to put in.
18:28You know, you have to grind, but the tools are there to teach you, even if you didn't
18:34get taught at home or in school about different things or a business.
18:39And so, you know, you definitely can take advantage of it and be successful.
18:44And I tell my son all the time, the world is his.
18:46And one thing I can say, he has took note to that and he's doing it now.
18:52Just recently graduated from Clark Atlanta University.
18:55Warner, that's right.
18:55Has his own business.
18:57Shout out.
18:57Yeah.
18:59He just purchased his own home at the age of 21.
19:02He just built his own home?
19:04He just purchased his own home in Atlanta at the age of 21.
19:07But my point is, is that, you know, you know, I've taught him at a young age and, you know,
19:13he ran with it.
19:14And so today's youth definitely can, you know, take advantage of all the tools that are at
19:21their fingertips to be successful.
19:23You know, it's not, it's no excuse.
19:25It's nothing.
19:25No one can hold you back at this point.
19:27Right.
19:27You know, if you don't want to work a job, you know, you, you, you getting paid money
19:35to do silly things on Instagram.
19:37Or any social media platform, as long as you get followers, you know, if you could dance
19:42and if you cooking, you know, you know, people get money driving, doing Uber Eats.
19:48Yeah.
19:49No, yeah.
19:50It's ways to get money.
19:51You know, you don't have to be in the streets selling drugs, doing anything with robbing
19:55and stealing.
19:56You can take that energy and that drive not to do with the legal and put it into positive
20:04and make it happen, you know?
20:06So, you know, it's, it's just, you know, to put that out to the youth and, um, you know,
20:11life is good and life is what you make it.
20:13Ooh, I love that.
20:14I love it.
20:15I've been in the building.
20:16I'm sitting on the panel with a lot of big boys right here.
20:19You know what I'm saying?
20:20And at the end of the day, I'm one of them big boys.
20:22I had my shop when I was like 15 years, 15 years ago.
20:26You know, it was a good thing.
20:28But like Kev said, back in the day, we had to put in that work to where it is today.
20:32It's more of a, like a, a good thing now.
20:36It's like, I feel like we paved the way for all the barbers today.
20:39You know what I'm saying?
20:39Mm-hmm.
20:40Because it's more easier for you now to be on a platform, YouTube, Instagram, and all that.
20:44Right.
20:45We got it off the muscle.
20:46And how we got off the muscle, we had to, your work was your, your product.
20:51You know what I'm saying?
20:52And at the end of the day, we here to make it happen for everybody.
20:56You know what I'm saying?
20:57But at the end of the day, we're here for that white party.
20:59Yes.
21:00We want y'all to come down through.
21:01Uh-oh.
21:02And here's the deal.
21:03Get it how you live.
21:05Y'all come beautiful ladies, dress to impress, and put them high heels and them best dresses on.
21:11And come out here and get it in.
21:13You know what I'm saying?
21:14Oh, yeah.
21:15You know?
21:15But at the end of the day, we ain't never going to swing away for what the situation is.
21:19But we definitely, we appreciate y'all breaking us down to the radio.
21:23Oh, yeah.
21:23Most definitely.
21:24Most definitely.
21:25And y'all come down here and holler at us at Final Cut Barbershop, and we here.
21:30Let's go.
21:31This be the barber.
21:32I just want to say everything good what I do, I love cutting here.
21:36That's all I wanted to do.
21:38Besides doing security, I used to do that.
21:41Back in the day, old school, Sunday, always there.
21:43James and Mowat, always there.
21:46Was doing that since I've been working with Kevin England for years.
21:51If it wasn't for him, it wasn't for me.
21:53Oh, yeah.
21:54He got me to branch off to understand his business, to how to run a business.
22:00I had my business for 14 years.
22:03I still have it.
22:04I'm just not there right now.
22:05But it's not going nowhere.
22:07Right.
22:08You know what I'm saying?
22:09It's a blessing.
22:10Because I learned from Kevin England.
22:13Well, like any operator that worked at the Final Cut, I definitely take under my wing and teach
22:20them or try to show, give them the blueprint of business, which wasn't shown to me.
22:29You know, I'm not a gatekeeper.
22:31I'm definitely going to pass on the knowledge that I've learned on, you know, everything
22:37with a business.
22:38You know, the LLCs, the EIN numbers, the tax ID.
22:41All the things, you liable insurance and taxes and all that come with ownership of a business
22:51as well as property.
22:53And, you know, some want that knowledge, some don't.
22:58But, you know, those who, you know, MB was one of them, passed that knowledge along.
23:03And they typically take off.
23:06The Final Cut has kind of been like a university in a sense where you come there, you can come
23:13out of Barber College or come from another shop, build a clientele, grow and graduate
23:19and do your own thing.
23:20Go to your, have your own shop.
23:23You know, I've had operators that open up shops out of the state, other cities.
23:28Oh, wow.
23:30You know, so it's been like a university where after so long you can graduate and do all,
23:35you know, your own thing.
23:37And again, like I said, it's been a blessing to be there for 30 years.
23:40And that basketball is kind of like that McDonald's arch, right?
23:45Where, despite if you've never been in the Final Cut, but if you mention the word Final
23:52Cut, folks will say, yeah, the place with the basketball.
23:56You know, so you can be in Africa, you can be in China.
24:00But listen, if you see that McDonald's arch, you know it's McDonald's, right?
24:04So when you see that, when you say the Final Cut, you know it's that basketball.
24:09So we've been a pillar in the community for that many years.
24:13That's a beautiful thing.
24:14Beautiful thing.
24:15Now, do you still mentor?
24:17Are you still mentoring people?
24:18Absolutely.
24:19They still come in and get a chair?
24:21Absolutely.
24:21Absolutely.
24:22I don't cut myself anymore, but I do communicate and talk with the youth and just, you know,
24:30the clients, period.
24:31I'm active in the shop with my guys and we have meetings and we talk, you know, I talk
24:36with the clientele as well as children.
24:39You know, it's funny because over the years, I have had clients come up to me where, and
24:48they would say, you know, I used to come get my hair cut when I was five, six years old.
24:52Oh, man.
24:53I hear that so much.
24:53Now, they are adults.
24:55Bringing their kids, probably.
24:57And they're bringing their kids.
24:58Yes.
24:59I've got so many people in my chair say, man, I've been coming here because I was a little
25:03boy.
25:04Wow.
25:05I'm like, damn, that's crazy.
25:06So, we're still here.
25:08So, the plan is to be another 30 years and next year we're going to have our second annual
25:13white party.
25:14Oof.
25:14So, this is the first of many.
25:16I can't, I can't wait.
25:18So, I got to be there.
25:19So, it's official.
25:19I got to be there to stamp, you know, stamp on it.
25:22It's official.
25:23You need to box up a picture.
25:25Yes.
25:25Oh, yeah.
25:26Oh, yeah.
25:27No, I'm there.
25:28So, again, tell us again.
25:30Tell us again where it is, where they go.
25:32It's going down the Final Cut furnace.
25:35Cabaret August 29th after conference room 15900, Schaefer and Periton.
25:41There's no gym shoes or white tees.
25:43Tickets are $10 advance and $20 at the door.
25:47Nutball.
25:48That's it.
25:48Okay.
25:49So, you heard him.
25:50I mean, I don't know.
25:51Yes, sir.
25:51Yes, sir.
25:52Yes, sir.
25:52I couldn't have said it any better than that.
25:54We're doing all day.
25:55Tickets only $20.
25:56I mean, you can't be wrong with that.
25:58First Cabaret, if you haven't been to one, this is the place to be.
26:00It's happening.
26:02We're all in sexy.
26:02August 29th.
26:03Right?
26:04It's going down.
26:05And if you know how to bar room and hustle, you better be there.
26:10Get your sexy dance on.
26:12And make sure y'all shout out all your social media before we get about here.
26:15Shout out all your social media.
26:17Where can they find you?
26:18Where can they find all of you?
26:19I'm on Facebook.
26:20This is Brandon Haley.
26:21That's how you follow me.
26:23Instagram, Brandon Haley.
26:25That's how you follow me.
26:26You find me on Facebook, Smitty.
26:29Get you some paper.
26:31Oh, there we go.
26:31And we got the Final Cut, which is the underscore, final underscore barbershop.
26:37And that is Instagram.
26:39Facebook would be Final Cut.
26:42And that's it.
26:43And you can find us there.
26:44As well as TikTok, the Final Cut barbershop on TikTok.
26:48I had it.
26:49Can I tap in?
26:51I'm going to tap in.
26:52Okay.
26:52Well, fellas, it definitely was a pleasure having you guys all on.
26:56Definitely don't be a stranger.
26:58And I'm going to be there.
26:59August 29th at the white party.
27:01The all white party.
27:02We hear you talking.
27:03We hear you talking.
27:04We'll be back.
27:05We hear you talking.
27:07We'll be back.
27:08All right.
27:09It's the balance.
27:11This be the bar.
27:11We out.
