00:00The feminist struggle for America...
00:03I am Antonia Gómez, founder of the collective called Resistencia Chiquita
00:08And we are here at an event called Girls in Resistance.
00:12We are here because we really want to protest
00:15And because we want to create a space for girls, mothers, and women to come together.
00:22I am Isabel Orozco and I am part of Resistencia Chiquita.
00:26And I'm here to raise my voice because girls exist too.
00:31and the director of the ICBF made us invisible
00:35and made us feel that she believes
00:39that we cannot also express and raise our voice.
00:45So we are here to raise our voices
00:47and that she knows that girls exist too.
00:49and that he must issue a public apology.
00:55Why do I think what the ICBF is doing is so unfair?
01:00They want to undermine what we have accomplished in these years
01:04what Antonia and the different girls of the collective have done
01:07because I think it's very important
01:09because we have to make our rights respected.
01:12We express ourselves through art,
01:15of artivism, which is activism but framed within art
01:17because we believe it is easier to express but also easier to understand
01:21and especially in dance-theater.
01:24We have taken classes, we have two dance-theater performances
01:28And we plan to continue studying.
01:30obviously exploring other areas as well.
01:34And that day she surprised me with that.
01:36Then he said, "Mom, I want to do something, I need to do something."
01:40And I said to him, well yes, we.
01:42I mean, I was talking about the moms and all the friends,
01:45We're going to go, we're going to do such and such, in front of the prosecutor's office.
01:48And she told me, no, I want to do something
01:50Because I'm about to turn seven.
01:54And I'm worried that it could happen to me or any of my friends.
01:57or that this continues to happen to any girl.
01:59Of course, she has already begun to develop a greater perception
02:03of the problems of being a woman in this society
02:05and especially the vulnerability of being a girl, which is even more defenseless.
02:08They talked and decided how
02:10How great it would be to be a girls' collective!
02:13because we couldn't keep talking about them by name
02:17And they had a voice because they couldn't use it.
02:20And yes, it seemed logical to me.
02:22And that's where I've been all these years,
02:25These years, behind Ando,
02:27as if helping her a little too,
02:31supporting her.
02:31It hasn't been easy because, well, many people think
02:34that someone tells him what to say
02:36and we don't trust our sons, our daughters
02:39They have a voice, they exist.
