00:03And I developed an infection.
00:05So I had a double mastectomy back in the beginning of July, and recovery was going very, very
00:11well until one morning I woke up and was dreadfully ill, and I had this infection.
00:15You know, it could have come from a variety of sources, but it was, like, it was just
00:20awful.
00:21So two weeks of antibiotics would not go away.
00:25So they finally went in, they had to just take everything out and clean everything out
00:33with saline and pack me with antibiotics and replace everything.
00:37And after a week of recovery from that second surgery, I'm feeling so much better.
00:45Oh, good.
00:46Yeah.
00:46Thank goodness.
00:48Yes, it is.
00:49You know, like, it's a scary thing.
00:51Like, this whole situation, obviously, has been very scary.
00:55Anytime someone is told they have cancer, you're just kind of like, how did this happen to
01:00me?
01:00Right.
01:02And why me?
01:03And all the things.
01:04And you feel sorry for yourself, and you go through this emotional time.
01:08But then, like, when you hit another roadblock, you're just like, what?
01:12Like, how much more can this, like, how much more could possibly happen right now?
01:16You know?
01:18So, yeah, it was a lot.
01:19And I've been kind of approaching everything with a sunshiny mindset, because that's just
01:24what I do.
01:24But when I don't feel well, because it doesn't happen often, I have a really hard time dealing
01:29with that.
01:30Also.
01:30Because it's just, like, I don't have bad days that often.
01:32So when I do, I'm like, I crumble, you know?
01:35And also not to mention that, you know, you have these incredible doctors and this incredible
01:39team that's been working with you from day one.
01:41And just quite frankly, this was not part of their plan when they started with you on
01:46day one, right?
01:47This was a contingency.
01:49This was a thing that needed to happen, but it wasn't necessarily ever a part of any sort
01:54of knowledge that you thought could happen.
01:56And so, you know, it threw us off.
01:58It threw you off.
01:59And you had even mentioned, like, I might be back.
02:02The surgery was on a Tuesday.
02:03You're like, could be back Thursday, maybe Friday.
02:05And, you know, ultimately, you listen to your body, which is the number one thing.
02:09And we've said that from the very beginning.
02:11Listen to your body and just let us know how we can help.
02:13And we're just so glad that you're back today and, like, truly feeling like, okay, I'm good
02:18to be back.
02:19Like, I'm ready to rock.
02:20You know what I mean?
02:21Yeah, I think for the first time, you know, maybe in my life, when my alarm went off this
02:26morning, I was like, I did, like, a check of myself.
02:30And I was like, I feel good.
02:31Like, I'm actually getting up out of bed feeling good right now.
02:35I'm glad the alarm went off.
02:37I'm feeling good.
02:38And let's continue with the day.
02:40Yeah, so very excited about that.
02:42I feel like today is a huge win.
02:45And if you need a reason to celebrate, let me be that reason.
02:48Let's celebrate Andy Summers being back and feeling great and looking great.
02:53It's so incredible.
02:54Now, I want to remind everybody, too, because people text us anytime Andy's off for a day,
02:58just checking in, making sure she's okay.
03:00You can always, we'll always have updates on the air, of course.
03:03But you can also always go on our website, theandysommershow.com.
03:07Andy's putting together this awesome blog where she's talking about her journey, her
03:11recovery, working from home, whatever it might be.
03:14You know, she's pouring into this so much right now.
03:17And I really think it's so powerful and so great.
03:20And it's a great outlet for you, too, right?
03:22Yeah, it really is.
03:23It's therapeutic to just kind of put it all into words.
03:26And, you know, it's one thing to have a conversation with someone and get their reaction.
03:31But then you're basing your story on your, you know, the person who's sitting across from
03:38you.
03:38Right.
03:39But when you're writing, it's just like, it's just me.
03:41So you are getting it raw for sure.
03:44Theandysommershow.com.
03:46Check it out right now.
03:47Check it out.
