00:00Fish, an unbeaten run to start the season. How happy were that result today?
00:05Do you know what? It's a tough, tough place to come, real.
00:08I said it before the game. I said it in my interview last week.
00:12You know, you've got to put in a good performance to come in and get anything.
00:15And I thought, first half, you know, we huffed and puffed both ends.
00:20You know, it was a little bit like a basketball game.
00:22They had a goal, we had a goal. They had a goal, we had a goal.
00:25I think it took till they scored for us to wake up a little bit.
00:28You know, and then we made a couple of changes, changed a few little things.
00:33And, you know, I think once we equalised, I thought there was only going to be one winner.
00:37That resilience to sort of carry on after going down by the goal.
00:40What were the sort of changes you made after going down by the goal?
00:45Do you know what? I just think it shook a few of the lads.
00:48I'm not sure whether that's the first time we've been behind all season.
00:53And we deserve to be behind at the time, to be honest.
00:56But I think the way the lads showed character and resilience, you know, it's about finding ways to win.
01:02When you come to hard places like this, it's about finding ways to win.
01:04And we've done it again.
01:06You know, this time we've got a goal down.
01:07It shows the character of the group, to be fair.
01:09We've got five, what you would call, starters out injured.
01:14The bench was looking a bit sparse, to be fair.
01:17But, you know, the lads who've come in and the lads who've come on as subs have done absolutely superb.
01:23I can't ask any more of them.
01:24You know, we moaned at them a little bit at half time regarding just being sloppy with the ball a
01:31little bit.
01:31We were just a little bit sloppy, which isn't like us.
01:33But we were sloppy.
01:35You know, probably deserved to go in 0-0.
01:38They had a couple of chances, we had a couple of chances.
01:41But then, second half, we come out, started OK, and then they've scored.
01:45You know, it's a test of character.
01:47And, you know, the lads have passed that test with flying colours.
01:51And now is a quick turnaround for Bank Holding Monday against Newtown.
01:56That's going to be a tough game for us.
01:57Listen, I speak to Jay quite a bit.
01:59He's got a really good side at Newtown.
02:02You know, I feel like I repeat myself every week.
02:07There's no easy games in this league.
02:09There's, you know, every single team, if you don't turn up, will beat you.
02:12If you don't apply yourself and do your bit, you'll lose the game.
02:18So it's got another tough one.
02:19And then, again, after that, we've got Port Maddox.
02:21And then I think it's Denby.
02:23So, you know, you're not looking at the fixture list thinking,
02:25oh, there's a couple of easy ones coming up.
02:27There's no easy ones.
02:28There's no easy ones.
02:29But, you know, I thought when Tom came on, he made a bit of a difference.
02:33Just he gave us a little injection of pace, you know, got behind them.
02:38There was a few tired legs on there.
02:40I think the changes changed the game a little bit.
02:41And, you know, I was screaming for them to go in the corner with them.
02:45He's wrapped it in the net.
02:47But, listen, I'm just pleased with the overall performance of the team.
02:51I thought, you know, it's taught us a few things tonight.
02:55We've got a goal down and we've still found a way to win.
02:58And, you know, if anything, it galvanised the team and we went 1-0 down.
03:02And we ended up getting a win.
03:03So, couldn't be more pleased.
03:04But, like you just said, you've just seen the lads doing some active recovery on there,
03:08getting the drinks down.
03:09They've got to hydrate, do the recovery process properly tomorrow and Sunday
03:13for another massive game on Monday.
03:15Just a quick note on Craig Linfield.
03:18That's, I think, five goals now in four games.
03:21What signing is going for the club?
03:23Listen, when we signed Linney, we knew he was going to score goals.
03:27That's what he does.
03:27That's his signature, scoring goals.
03:31And somehow he just finds ways of being in the right place at the right time,
03:36puts it in the back of the net.
03:37But, I thought, apart from his goals tonight, I thought Linney was fucking superb.
03:43Honestly, I thought his hold-up play, you know, his link-up play, his hold-up play was superb.
03:50He brought other people into the game.
03:51He worked his socks off.
03:54One-headers.
03:55You know, it was a complete performance from tonight.
03:58So, yeah, really pleased.
