A day in the life of owning 2 dogs means one puppy with endless energy and one chilled-out older dog who just wants peace and quiet. Moi, a 12-month-old Doberman, starts the morning crying for attention, bouncing on walks, refusing to settle, and turning every meal into a full performance, while Kobe, a 4-year-old golden retriever, stays patient, calm, and happy to sniff along at his own pace.

From morning walks and lead training to breakfast, crate time, afternoon play, and dinner, the contrast between a young dog and an older dog is impossible to miss. The video also shows how the pair handle rain, rest, cuddles, and separate personalities throughout the day, including Kobe’s allergies, Moi’s puppy chaos, and the small tricks that help keep both dogs happy and settled.

If you enjoy dog lifestyle content, puppy and adult dog comparisons, golden retriever and Doberman family videos, or calm pet vlog storytelling, this is an easy watch. It’s a relatable look at dog training, feeding routines, enrichment, and the everyday reality of living with two very different dogs.

Perfect for viewers searching for day in the life dog videos, puppy vs older dog routines, dog owner lifestyle vlogs, golden retriever and Doberman content, and relaxed pet family storytelling for background viewing.

00:02We're going to show you the differences between having an old dog and a young dog.
00:06This is a day in the life and if you can hear that crying it sounds like we're
00:10starting the day with a young dog. Good morning! Yes! This is what a morning is
00:17like with a younger dog. So the morning pets are a little bit more crazy. The first
00:24thing we always do is go on a morning walk but before we do that you may be
00:28thinking this is not a younger dog. Well here's some fun facts on Moki. Although
00:34she looks like a mini horse she is only 12 months old, 7 in human years. So yes
00:39guys she is still a puppy. She's got zero chill and wants to play 24 7 and also
00:45whines during the day when she's tired because she just refuses to go to sleep.
00:51And this seems like a good time to introduce our older dog. Here's Kobe.
00:55Kobe is 4 years old turning 5 in a few months. So that's 28 in human years. And I know
01:01you're
01:01probably thinking that's not an old dog but trust me when I say he acts about 78. He's
01:07the most chilled out dog ever. Sleeps pretty much the whole day, doesn't like toys and also
01:13prefers his alone space. And this is what a morning with an older dog looks like. Are you smiling? A
01:19lot more chilled out. A lot more peaceful.
01:21Shall we go on your morning walk? Why are you putting that face? Oh big stretch. Life of an older
01:29dog.
01:30Now you've gotten to know the dogs, let's see the differences in their morning walks.
01:33Collar on. Holty on. Oh big yaw. Sit Moki sit good girl. And this is another thing with having a
01:42younger dog.
01:43They can't sit still for longer than two seconds. Collar. And not easier to put things on him. He's going
01:49to stay in place.
01:50Not move anywhere. Oh good boy. So we're currently in the process of Lee training Moki but being a young
01:58puppy she goes absolutely crazy.
02:01So for now we've got the whole E that just works for us.
02:06Coby on the other hand is super chilled out. We just have a slip lead on him so that he
02:10knows what direction we're walking in.
02:16Yes! So this is actually a brand new walk that she's never gone on before. So we know she's going
02:20to have a good time.
02:23Get out of her Moki!
02:27Find it. Come on Mokes. Good girl. There you go.
02:30So we've got to make sure she's as tired as possible at the start of the day or else we'll
02:34get no work done.
02:36This dog has got endless energy. And so we've got to make sure she is tired.
02:42Alright you want a stick? Go on then. Crazy dog.
02:46And if we're short on time we've got a little trick up our sleeve. The best thing about having two
02:51of us is that we can do this.
02:54Moki come. Come on. Moki come. Moki!
03:03It's working. She's getting tired. She's like who me?
03:07We decided to take Coby on the same walk. Again, he's never been here before.
03:12You can see he's a lot more chilled out on walks. Taking his time. Sniffing the ground. Taking it all
03:17in really.
03:20You love it don't you Coby? Oh you're such a good boy.
03:24You're such a good boy.
03:26I can have a nap.
03:28Yeah, it's just a bit more peaceful with this one.
03:30But now it's time to go home and feed them their breakfast. This is where you see how patient an
03:35older dog is compared to a younger.
03:36Moki, it's time to go home. It's time to go home. Come here. Come here.
03:40There's two main differences when you have an older dog and a younger dog when it comes to feeding time.
03:45Number one, the older dog is nice and composed. Waiting patiently like a good boy.
03:49On the other hand, the younger dog can't contain her excitement. She literally can't sit still.
03:55And number two, the amount of food they're fed. We weigh out their food. Moki gets anything between 320 to
04:01350 grams per meal.
04:03And Coby here gets around 200 grams. We did use to feed Coby raw food and he got on with
04:09it really well.
04:10But Coby's always had bad allergies. So sadly for him, we've had to put him on hypoallergenic food, which literally
04:16looks and smells like air.
04:18So, we do put some Greek yogurt and berries in it to spice it up a bit for him. And
04:23we did test these and luckily, he's not allergic.
04:26Moki is on this purina puppy food for large dogs. Again, we had her on raw, but we were literally
04:31feeding her about 1.2 kilograms of raw food a day when she was a pup.
04:35And you can see here, her metabolism was just too quick. So we switched to kibble and she's been getting
04:41on with it really well.
04:42Coby's still super excited, but you know, it's contained excitement. I mean, look at this good boy.
04:47Wait. Can I get a paw? Paw? Good boy. Other paw? Good boy. Yes, go on then.
04:58Moki loses all composure. I'll tell her to do a trick and she'll start doing every trick in the book
05:03just to get the food.
05:04Spin. Spin. Spin. Spin. Spin. Spin. Spin. But when she focuses, she's locked in.
05:13Spin. Down. Watch. Yes. Good girl. Good boy. Oh boy. The next part of the day is always the most
05:26fun bit.
05:26The dogs have been walked, fed, and now it's time for me to start work. With Coby, this is nice
05:31and easy.
05:32He's delighted with this morning. He's gotten everything he's needed. So now he's just going to sleep and rest like
05:38a good boy.
05:39Moki, on the other hand, just won't settle. Now this is partly because she's a doberman and they've got no
05:44chill.
05:45But trust me, when Coby was her age, he was bouncing off the walls too.
05:48So this is how it goes. An hour of work, nice and easy. Then spend some time giving cuddles to
05:53Coby.
05:54And Moki, on the other hand, five minutes of work, constant begging for attention, whining, then having to play.
06:00It's hard to work with you just staring down on me like that. What do you want? Got pets?
06:08We have got this crate for Moki, and I know what you're thinking, can't she just jump out of it?
06:13Well, yeah, but we've trained her not to, and honestly, I think even she now believes that she can't.
06:19So the idea behind the crate is to give her her own place to chill out.
06:22Also to try and teach her that now it's time to have a rest, not always annoy me.
06:27So into the crate, and now she'll settle.
06:30You want to know why I'm recording her from here?
06:32That's because as soon as I get close to this one, she wakes up instantly.
06:37Even though she's chilling, she doesn't really have any chill.
06:41We're going to do something a little different for that afternoon walk, just to see if we can get the
06:45older dog to act a bit more like the younger dog.
06:48But first, 12 midday comes around, I take a break from work, have a quick play with Moki in the
06:53garden, Coby will also get up and have a little wander around.
06:56And can't forget my absolute favourite thing to do, pick up dog poo.
07:013pm hits and both dogs know it's their time to walk.
07:04Even as the dog gets older, the one thing they will always look forward to is their walks.
07:08So, we already know what they're both like on walks.
07:11Moki, crazy.
07:12Coby, composed.
07:14But, what would happen if Ella took Moki on a walk, and me and Coby would meet them halfway?
07:18Would Coby then lose all composure?
07:20Ella began her walk with Moki, being her usual self and going nuts.
07:24We visit this space every day, because she loves it that much.
07:31Come on.
07:33We're going to meet Coby later.
07:36Come on, let's go.
07:41Leave it, come on, come.
07:43We began our walk with Coby, but we wanted to give him subtle hints that he was meeting Moki halfway.
07:49We've gotten Ella to drop Moki's blanket and one of her toys along the way.
07:53We're now entering the forest.
07:55Of course, Coby's got no idea that he's going to be meeting up with Moki.
07:58So, let's see if we can get the older dog to act a bit more like the younger dog.
08:02So, it's going to be interesting to see how he reacts to the little hints that we put there as
08:07well.
08:07I wonder if Coby will catch on that Moki's close once he smells her blanket and her toy.
08:12Let's go find your sister.
08:13Good boy.
08:14You do that toilet.
08:15He's definitely picking up on her scent because he keeps smelling the ground and then running off.
08:20Oh, he smelled something.
08:22Coby, come.
08:23He's found the blanket.
08:24Coby, what's that?
08:26Come here.
08:27That's why he smelled because he thought he could smell Moki.
08:30Coby, what's this?
08:31All right.
08:31Let's carry on.
08:32So, Moki and Ella are literally down there around that corner and Coby is fresh on their scent.
08:39There is another toy further down that he's just smelled.
08:43Oh, he's gone.
08:44He smelled them.
08:45He's gone.
08:46Wow.
08:47His sense of smell is amazing.
08:48So, this is where the other toy was.
08:51But it looks like he didn't even need the hints.
08:52As soon as he got close, he found it.
08:55I wonder what his reaction was.
08:57Moki, who's that?
08:58Moki, what's that?
08:59Moki, who's that?
09:01Who's that?
09:02Who's that?
09:03Who's that?
09:05Hello, gorgeous boy.
09:07Well done.
09:09Okay, you found Momma.
09:11Hello.
09:13Let's see if I can get them to come back to me.
09:15Coby!
09:16Moki!
09:19Come on, Moks.
09:22Hello, little girl.
09:24Look into me.
09:25Oh, good girl.
09:27Hello.
09:27Oh, and she's off again.
09:29Come on, Moks.
09:30Come on, you two.
09:35Good boy.
09:36Good girl.
09:37You find them, Cobes.
09:38Well done.
09:39And this is the young dog.
09:41And there's the old dog not chasing her.
09:44Old dog had enough.
09:45Well, mission complete.
09:46I think we've got the older dog to act a bit more like the younger.
09:49Well, you can definitely tell which one's the older, more dominant dog.
09:57Alright, so both dogs have had a quick nap.
10:00It's usually around this time the day finally catches up with Moki and she does actually get some sleep.
10:05It's time to feed them their dinner and you know the deal now.
10:07200 grams for Coby and 320 grams for Moki.
10:11You want some food?
10:12Spin.
10:14Spin.
10:15Lovely weather in the UK.
10:16As always, it's raining.
10:17Come.
10:17So sometimes we'll feed Moki in this little covered area.
10:20Because being a Doberman, she hates to rain.
10:22That's it.
10:23Coby being a golden retriever, doesn't mind the rain.
10:26Watch.
10:28Yes.
10:29Speak.
10:30Speak.
10:30Good boy.
10:32Ready?
10:33Coby go.
10:36Also, absolutely no food aggression with this one.
10:39You can do whatever you want to her.
10:41And once again, absolutely no food aggression.
10:44Good boy, Cobes.
10:45At this point in the day, Coby's settled again.
10:48He's had his second walk.
10:49He's been fed.
10:50He's living his best life.
10:52Moki, she's the opposite.
10:53She's been fed now and she's ready to go again.
10:56So we will either do a little play with her or we'll actually take her on a walk around the
11:00block and practice some of her lead training.
11:02And we're on the walk.
11:03What?
11:04What's wrong?
11:05So my auntie once said to me, if your plans depend on it not to rain in the UK, you'll
11:09end up doing nothing.
11:11So, rain or shine, we must go on.
11:14Good girl.
11:17Smoky heel?
11:18Yes.
11:19Good girl.
11:23But like I said earlier, even an old dog loves his walks.
11:33Go home, Coby.
11:34Go home.
11:36Go home.
11:37Well done, Coby.
11:39Good boy.
11:40Like I said at the start, Coby loves his own space.
11:43So he's mostly chilling in bed whilst I catch up and watch some Netflix.
11:47This is partly the Doberman in her and her being a big baby.
11:50But Moki wants to cuddle up on the sofa with me, literally get as close as possible whilst we watch
11:55the best dog videos on YouTube in the world.
11:58Moki, look.
12:00It's you.
12:01Are you watching yourself, Mokes?
12:04Good girl.
12:05We lit them out for one last wee.
12:06Moki stays outside for about two minutes because she's a Doberman and she hates the cold.
12:10Coby will stay outside her patrol a little bit.
12:13Moki.
12:14Moki.
12:14That's it.
12:14That's it.
12:15It's literally been two seconds.
12:17And finally, it's time for them to go to sleep.
12:20Well.
12:21Kinda.
12:21And if you enjoyed this video, YouTube thinks that the video popping up on screen right now is perfect for
12:27you to watch next.
12:28You may have a good time.
12:29See you there.
