00:36Today, happy Friday to everyone out there.
00:40It's almost football season, and apparently it is the season of scamming.
00:46Really?
00:47It's like one scam after another scam.
00:49It's funny, because I would have imagined the season of scamming
00:51was somewhere in like the winter or like the fall as we get towards that time.
00:55Around tax season.
00:56Yeah, when we start getting to where, hey, hey, we need this money, baby.
01:00We need this money.
01:00The scammers do not take no seasons off.
01:03Ah, that's fair.
01:04That's a good point.
01:04Yeah, yeah.
01:05So, we was talking about receivers and all that.
01:08What's the Kayshawn Booty?
01:11The Houston Texans is getting him.
01:12And thank goodness Nick Casario ain't look over to the 49ers because it was a round receiver
01:21that was over there that apparently, I guess, the 49ers didn't know that was on the doggone team.
01:26So, here's a story about a guy who was, I guess, was he cosplaying as a receiver?
01:33I don't know what the hell he was doing, but here's NBC News with the story of this scam.
01:39Okay, so, I'm on my way to get my mom.
01:43I know I get a lot of fans who want to know how football works or how I got involved
01:50in the league.
01:50That's Dajon Love.
01:52Federal prosecutors say he faked being a San Francisco 49ers player as part of a scheme to convince women to
01:59give him money.
02:00This Instagram account, cited in court records, shows Love wearing 49ers gear and playing cash on the beach.
02:07He also posted stories, free agency, year one, and Super Bowl, all in the same week.
02:14Prosecutors say Love used dating apps like Tinder, Hinge, and Facebook Dating to meet women and entice them into fake
02:21investment schemes, mostly between 2022 and 2025.
02:26They say they found 26 women from Oregon, California, and Washington who were defrauded out of more than $1.3
02:33million.
02:35Agents arrested Love and an alleged accomplice, 18-year-old Taylor Chan, at the Boise Airport on Tuesday.
02:41They both face wire fraud charges.
02:44Court documents show screenshots from fake bank accounts and fake investment accounts.
02:50In an Instagram story, he used Google's AI overview, likely pulling from fake accounts he created, to try and convince
02:57people he played in the NFL.
02:59Love promised women their money would quickly double or triple if they invested with him and Chan, prosecutors say.
03:05Chan, who acted as a financial advisor, called Love a vet manipulator, according to iCloud messages published in court documents.
03:14FBI agents found no evidence that Love or Chan invested the money they got from dozens of women or repaid
03:20their loans as promised.
03:22When the victims had no more money to invest or asked too many questions, Love blocked communication with them and
03:28kept their money, prosecutors say.
03:30Man, I just, I really want to look at these women and be like, are you serious?
03:36You thought he was really an NFL player?
03:38That's not even.
03:39Because they are digging, look, man, they are looking all over Instagram, finding all type of videos.
03:46I'm like.
03:47He don't look the part?
03:48Look at that route he running on the beach, man.
03:50Figgy's like, how could you not tell?
03:52His release is awful.
03:53Hey.
03:55He doesn't even stack, he doesn't even stack his hips.
03:57What is happening here?
03:58Hey, he running route like me.
04:00Yeah, I mean, I can.
04:03I think he said, that's a banana route.
04:04He didn't even get to the landmark.
04:05And also, you can't just Google the roster.
04:07That's what I was going to say.
04:09Like, you can, I can accept non-ball knowing, right?
04:12Not everybody is a ball knower.
04:14Not everybody is into sports.
04:15I get it.
04:16But Google is free, especially, like, it's one thing to.
04:21It's free and it's less good now.
04:23Yeah, but you can figure out.
04:25You can Google the damn roster.
04:26You can look up the depth chart.
04:27Yeah.
04:28You can definitely Google a depth chart and get a good enough result.
04:30I got some homegirls that are not football fans at all.
04:34And as soon as they think they know a football player, they will Google the roster immediately.
04:39Yeah, but you got to think to Google the roster, especially if you're not a sports person.
04:42I bet there's people that.
04:43But I just told you.
04:44That's all the more reason to Google it.
04:45But no, here's the thing.
04:46I bet people, you heard in the story, people did Google it.
04:49And if you trust Google to do that AI summary, he didn't already made it so that stuff that
04:56he put on the internet would be pulled into the AI summary.
04:58So I bet there were people that thought they were doing their due diligence, looking this
05:02up and saying, oh, the AI says this, which is why I keep telling you all.
05:06You talk about women who can catch a man doing anything.
05:09That's why I keep telling you all.
05:09And they can't sit here and Google the roster?
05:12They don't know football reference?
05:14No.
05:14I'm just saying.
05:16Do you know how many people don't know football?
05:17You know how much of a sicko you got to be?
05:19I'm obviously joking, but I'm just saying Google it and have a more vigorous search process.
05:26Women find out anything.
05:28Especially before you give money.
05:30It's one thing to date a guy.
05:31Right.
05:31And he might be lying, but you okay with it because maybe you like him and maybe you want
05:36to be lied to for a little while.
05:37But once you start investing your money into this lie, I feel like you need to go ahead and
05:42do your due diligence.
05:43Oh, no, I was just pushing back to give you all some pushback.
05:45No, I think this is insane.
05:47Because here's the thing that got me.
05:49Since when did anybody, mind you, go, that person is rich.
05:53You know what I need to do?
05:54Give them money.
05:55When did, like, how does that make sense?
05:57Immediately when he said that in the report, I was like, the NFL player convinced non-rich
06:03people to give them money?
06:04Like, what are we doing?
06:05I would be trying to get his money, right?
06:07That would be the idea.
06:08Right, the hypothetical thing or, like, the stereotype would be that these women would
06:13see a football player and want to force money.
06:15Apparently, they out here wanting to give you money.
06:17Yeah.
06:17I didn't realize that was a thing.
06:19Yeah.
06:20Yeah.
06:20Yeah.
06:21I think, look, it's fair to say I don't think those women were very smart with this.
06:27And I'm trying to be nice with it because, like I said, I got some homegirls who be thinking
06:32they came up on a dope dude that got money.
06:35And once they start asking them for money, it's just like, uh-uh, nah, I'm out.
06:40Like, no, you should be giving me money.
06:43I should not be giving you money.
06:44You the rich one, you know, flossing all on Instagram and all that stuff.
06:48Why are you asking me for some money?
06:50That's right.
06:50That's right.
06:50What happened to the racks that you were putting across your forearm?
06:54Yeah.
06:54What happened to all that money?
06:56Yeah, but a buddy is exploiting stupidity.
06:58Oh, well, I mean, that's what this is.
07:00Correct.
07:00Finding marks and shooting at targets.
07:03They done pulled up a video of him signing a contract.
07:07Like, dog, what are you doing, man?
07:09You going way too far, man.
07:11Cosplaying is the answer.
07:12Here's the thing.
07:13There's one more thing in this story that I found to be fascinating, and it's clearly
07:16not the most important thing.
07:18They said an 18-year-old financial advisor.
07:22Did I hear that correctly?
07:23Yeah, an 18-year-old scamming.
07:25Cos you think that they presented themselves as 18 years old?
07:29Like that fake doctor from several years back?
07:32Which was weird, because that fake doctor was operating for multiple years and did not
07:36get caught.
07:37And I was like, how good?
07:38Like, are we missing the point?
07:39We might need to put him into med school.
07:41Yeah.
07:41Cos how is he getting over for this number of years?
07:43Yeah, scamming aside, invest in this young man's future.
07:46I was like, he might actually be a savant.
07:48This 18-year-old financial advisor, quote-unquote, there's not a chance in the world that I believe,
07:53like, you can have all of the credits and accredited accreditation.
07:57If you're an 18-year-old, I'm not giving you my money to invest.
08:00Not a damn thing.
08:01Yeah.
08:01Not nothing.
08:02Yeah.
08:02I mean, you're lucky if I give you money to go to the store.
08:04Right.
08:05Yeah.
08:05But I would also go into a deep, deep, deep depression if I got scammed by an 18-year-old.
08:11Yeah, because...
08:12I would.
08:12Because I remember being 18.
08:14I remember even the smart...
08:15I didn't try to run those scams quite like this, but they were so stupid.
08:19And I was just not...
08:21There's no way.
08:22There's no way I could get a scam run on me by somebody that is just barely out of high
08:26school.
08:26I bet this happens to you a lot as a father of relatively young children.
08:30Yeah.
08:31Where you see them clearly trying to get one over on a line, you're like, this is the worst
08:35lie I've ever heard of my life.
08:36All the time.
08:37Kids, and I guess to an extension, you could say 18-year-olds are not kids, but you know
08:40what I mean.
08:41Kids think they are so much better at lying than they are.
08:43Yes.
08:44They're so horrible.
08:45Weekly.
08:45They're so bad at things.
08:46Every week, there is one where it's like, this fool don't realize that I was 11 years old
08:51before.
08:52That's a dumb lie.
08:54That don't even make sense.
08:56What do you mean?
08:57Man.
08:58Come on now.
08:58Crazy, man.
08:59Prayers to them ladies.
09:00Man.
09:01Who got got.
09:02Man.
09:02Because ain't nobody coming to save you on it, neither.
09:04Yeah.
09:05No.
09:05It's just gone.
09:06Yeah.
09:08This is a mistake presented by Sheriff Injury Lawyers on the fan.
09:12So, from one scam to another scam.
09:14This one, I don't think this young lady is in any legal trouble, but she is definitely
09:22being exposed.
09:22This is a lady by the name of Angel Victoria.
09:25And I want to say, she actually made her rise to, what's that show?
09:30Temptation Island?
09:31Okay.
09:32I think she made an appearance on there at one point.
09:35But she blew up from her social media posting her journey on being a Duke PA student.
09:42But the thing is, she was never a student.
09:45People dug up all the information.
09:48They said she never attended that school.
09:50No information on her graduating or anything.
09:53But meanwhile, on social media, she is posting the capping gown.
09:57She is posting her going to class, doing all type of, I guess, clinical classes and all
10:04that stuff.
10:04But here is more from, I guess, this scam from Angel Victoria.
10:09An influencer has been accused of making money by pretending to be a Duke PA student
10:13until a woman exposed everything on graduation day.
10:15Angel Victoria had been presenting herself online as a Duke PA student for years.
10:20She posted about studying.
10:21She also shared what she claimed were clinical rotations.
10:25She even reportedly landed brand deals through this identity and carried the PA student persona
10:29all the way onto a Netflix reality show.
10:31Then an actual Duke PA graduate named Kira saw her content and immediately realized something
10:36was wrong.
10:36Kira said their class originally had only around 91 students.
10:40They attended classes together, took exams together, and spent long nights studying.
10:45But she had never seen Angel before.
10:47Things became even more suspicious when Kira started looking back through Angel's older posts.
10:52She believed Angel had been using the lives of real PA students as references, then repackaging
10:57those experiences as her own.
10:58Now more people online are going back through Angel's old content.
11:01As the questions grew, Angel allegedly began blocking some of the real students who challenged
11:06her.
11:06Her social media accounts were later taken down or deleted.
11:11So it seems like the internet and just social media and all of that has both made it easier
11:22to do scams and then easier to catch them.
11:25Does that make sense?
11:27Yes.
11:28Or at least has provided a gateway to do.
11:30Maybe not made it easier to do them, but provided more of a gateway to commit these scams, but
11:36also provided an avenue for you to catch somebody and to provide the receipts.
11:41Yeah, I think what we're working on is the idea that light sanitizes, right?
11:45You get more sunlight sanitizes, right?
11:47Is I guess the sentiment that the more eyes that we can get on this, the more likelihood
11:51that somebody going to see this and be like, hey, these things don't add up like this
11:55moment, which not going to lie, I feel like you need to pick a, you need to pick a department
12:00that's a little bit bigger with a lot more nameless, faceless people.
12:03Yeah.
12:03First of all, Duke is a private school that is pretty small.
12:06Then you went to a program with physician's assistants.
12:09Yeah.
12:10That is pretty small as well.
12:11Buddy, I'd be a business student at, uh, at, uh, state tech university, right?
12:16Like why, why did you pick those ones in particular?
12:18Hey Fig, why, why she didn't pick, why they didn't pick Argosy?
12:22What's the, what's the, what's the school to Dr. Bryant?
12:25Dr. Shining?
12:25Oh yeah.
12:26Why, why they didn't pick that school?
12:27Hey, that's a whole different conversation.
12:29I'm just saying.
12:29Talk about scams.
12:31Hey, I'm just saying, pick up, pick a school where you don't feel like you're going to
12:33get called out.
12:34Not that she didn't get called out on that one, but you got to go, you got to get ITT
12:39tech up in here, Phoenix, uh, the University of Phoenix up in here, dog.
12:43Yeah.
12:43Yeah.
12:43And by the way, this, the same young lady, um, also portrayed herself as a licensed real
12:49estate agent.
12:50Yikes.
12:50Um, and I guess she was posting a lot of home listings and tours and stuff like that.
12:57Do we know that she wasn't or she was not?
12:59They dug into that as well, which is where she, she kind of could get in trouble with
13:05it's a real trouble if she was really out here trying to sell houses and all that stuff
13:10because that part right there is illegal.
13:12Now the other part she was doing, I guess is, I guess technically she won't, can't get
13:17in trouble for it, but this one right here, she might get in trouble for it if they find
13:21something.
13:22Goodness gracious.
13:22I don't know what she doing, man.
13:24Yeah.
13:24I'm just thinking of, listen, think of the imaginary life that she's supposedly living
13:28right now.
13:29The imaginary life is I am a student at a very highly regarded university while doing
13:36a pretty difficult program.
13:37And on the side, I sell houses.
13:39Word.
13:40Okay.
13:41Word.
13:41Okay.
13:42That, that, that's a lot.
13:43She was, she was doing a lot in her imaginary life.
13:46She probably got bridges for sale too.
13:47Yeah.
13:48By the way, she claimed that she earned a double major in psychology and biology from UNC Charlotte.
13:54And the university had to respond to this and said she did not graduate and left school
13:59partway through her studies.
14:02Man.
14:02So I feel, I guess she living by that term, you could be whatever you want to be.
14:06That's the beauty of America.
14:07You could be whatever you want to be in spite of yourself.
14:09Yeah.
14:09She is really trying to do that all the way.
14:12Maybe I should be a doctor, man.
14:13Maybe I should just hang around the school.
14:15Why not, man?
14:16Just act like I'm going to class.
14:18You got potential, dog.
14:18Yeah.
14:19They sell the white coats on Amazon, right?
14:21I mean, they do.
14:22I just feel like.
14:23I just hang around, man.
14:24I know we're all kidding, but I feel like I have to say it out loud.
14:26That's not a good idea.
14:28Yeah.
14:28I just want to make it out of here.
14:29Get out of town.
14:30Really?
14:31We're all joking.
14:31I just feel like somebody has to say the words.
14:34Yeah.
14:34That's not a good thing to do.
14:35Figgy Fig did not move all the way from Cleveland to Houston and become a radio star just to scam
14:41his way into the penitentiary.
14:43Look, I understand that 100%.
14:45But you have to understand where I'm coming from.
14:47I just feel like somebody has to say the words.
14:50Do not do that, please.
14:51Really?
14:52Okay.
14:52Yeah.
14:52By the way.
14:53If you ain't say that, man, I probably would have went out and did it, man.
14:57You wayward son, you.
14:58No, but here's the thing.
14:59Look at me covering my CYA, right?
15:02Yeah.
15:02Because let's say that Figgy is joking, except in a mixtape segment in six months, it is actually
15:10Figgy Fig in here.
15:11And then, yeah, he said this on the air and everybody was encouraging.
15:14No, man, you're not going to catch me.
15:15He was hiding in plain sight.
15:17You're not getting me.
15:17You know what?
15:18You're right, because I would have came out and sued Reggie for not telling me I should
15:22back out of this.
15:23From the 832, Houston has a freshman class of 7,000 plus.
15:28She should have just picked Houston.
15:30Yep.
15:30That is a big-ass freshman class.
15:31It is.
15:32That is crazy, man.
15:33Yeah.
15:33Shout out to U of H, man.
15:35Shout out to Houston, baby.
15:35We moved.
