00:00We're here with Sam Whiteman in Yeovil at the corner of King Street and Forbes Street.
00:04Sam, why are you and the community pushing for a pedestrian crossing near where Yeovil
00:09Central School is? I think the main reason is kids safety. 90% of the kids in Yeovil have to
00:20cross
00:20at this point and I think that it is important that we have someone here to slow people down.
00:28They don't take much notice when it's coming through here. This road is in 40 zone in school hours.
00:35So I think to have something here just to slow people down and to keep the kids safe that are
00:41crossing here every day, it's really important. There used to be one here years ago, they've taken
00:47it out, put the islands in but it doesn't slow anyone down. But I think the pedestrian needs to
00:52be there to just keep everyone in the community safe. We've got old people that cross here,
00:58kids, everyone. So I think it's just a must.
