00:00Today we're at the site of Victoria Pass where the road is currently closed but
00:05today the federal and the state government have both committed $100 million
00:08each $200 million in total to getting the road back open. They're working
00:14towards getting it open by the end of June to avoid the worst of winter. This
00:19$200 million will also help build an eastbound overtaking lane when you're
00:23coming up the causeway into Mount Victoria. Just with the geology and
00:29landscape there's not much room for a westbound lane. The new road will be
00:33built over the existing Mitchell's Causeway or the old Convict Bridge as it
00:38is also known and yeah teams are really working hard. There's plenty of people on
00:44site 24-7 trying to get this road back open.
