00:00Evan, this is a dream.
00:01It is a dream.
00:02We're with the one and only Abby Lee Miller.
00:04Welcome to the show.
00:06Oh, my God.
00:06I could have seen something so dirty right there,
00:08but I didn't go here.
00:09What?
00:09How are we getting dirty?
00:11Was it thank you for coming to the show that set your mind in motion?
00:15Yes, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
00:16Yeah, thank you for coming.
00:17You know, it's fabulosity.
00:19Well, you know, we are obsessed with you,
00:20and we have so much fun with you.
00:21Well, I appreciate it.
00:22I have fun when I'm here.
00:23Yes.
00:24Oh, my God.
00:24And you have so much fun going on all the time.
00:27I mean, that's like when you came in,
00:28and you were like, what do you guys want to talk to me about?
00:30We're like, literally everything,
00:32and especially the city winery event.
00:33The city winery.
00:35How about that?
00:35That's so cool.
00:36Crazy, crazy, crazy.
00:38And one of my dear friends who is a musician, an artist,
00:42and she gave us a lot of music for the television show,
00:47Rachel Sage and Cassandra Kubinski.
00:50They both, they're just monumental in the lyrical contemporary dance music.
00:56And they said, oh, my goodness, you're playing, in quotes, the city winery.
01:02And I just saw Lyle Leavitt there or whatever.
01:04And I'm like, oh, my God, what have I gotten myself into?
01:07I'm not playing.
01:09I'm just like, I just show up, and they have an hour and a half sound check.
01:14And I said, it's a mic and me.
01:17What do we need to check?
01:18It's on or it's off?
01:19Yeah.
01:20So what can fans expect at an Abby Lee Unlocked event?
01:25Uncorked.
01:25Uncorked.
01:26Sorry.
01:26An Abby Lee Uncorked event.
01:28Uncorked event.
01:29Well, we've got to be honest.
01:30It's a little naughty.
01:31There's a typo in the printout.
01:32It says the Uncocked event.
01:33Oh.
01:34So I thought it was unlocked, but it's uncorked.
01:36So we are not safe for words.
01:38Children, children.
01:38I know.
01:39Oh.
01:39Okay.
01:40So I give all the T. I explain how the show started.
01:47People always want to know that, especially other dance teachers, like, how did you get
01:50a show?
01:51And then I explain that whole, you know, the metamorphosis of all that.
01:55And then I go into the T. We do questions from the audience, and all the cameras have
02:02to go down.
02:02And they can film me when I'm doing my regular deal, but then to ask questions, camera's off.
02:10Oh.
02:11Because I never know what they're going to ask, right?
02:15And I don't know what I'm going to say.
02:17What's the spiciest question anyone has ever asked you?
02:20Maybe something unexpected that you weren't prepared to answer.
02:24Oh.
02:25I don't know.
02:26Like, who stole the money?
02:28Oh.
02:29Okay.
02:29But I'm prepared to answer.
02:30Okay.
02:31Melissa.
02:31All right.
02:32Yes.
02:33Oh, no.
02:33When was the last time you've seen Melissa?
02:35Ugh.
02:36In my nightmares.
02:37Oh, God.
02:38Oh, my God.
02:38I hope that's not every night then.
02:40I don't know.
02:41Sitting on a bed talking about the most toxic, horrible, rotten, ugly time of her life.
02:50Okay.
02:51When she looked like a, you know, she went from looking like a bad Girl Scout troop leader
02:56to this hair and boobs and nails and, you know, sitting on a bar trying to pick up somebody
03:04in L.A.
03:05Oh, no.
03:06Okay.
03:06Is she picking up anybody?
03:07No.
03:08Talk about a metamorphosis.
03:10Yeah.
03:10She really went through some changes herself.
03:12Yes.
03:12Yes.
03:13What do you think?
03:14Because so far you've only seen her in your nightmares.
03:17Yeah, I haven't seen anyone.
03:18Really?
03:18No, it's very strange.
03:20Well, I don't go back to Pittsburgh that often.
03:22I was just back recently for a wedding and then one of my former students works with the
03:27people with City Winery.
03:29Oh.
03:29So then that's how they knew I was going to be in town and they reached out and it just
03:33went well.
03:33And then the other City Rineries went, whoa, wait a minute, we want to jump in on this.
03:37Yeah, of course.
03:38That is very fun.
03:39What do you think you would, would you want to say anything to her if you saw her or just
03:43give it the silent dream?
03:43Yeah, mom's better have my money.
03:46Which is one of the most amazing moments that I see.
03:49I don't know if your TikTok algorithm is like my TikTok algorithm, Abby Lee Miller.
03:53I don't have a TikTok algorithm, although I got slammed by TikTok today.
03:59What?
03:59What happened?
03:59I just got a message.
04:01What'd they do?
04:02That says that I'm in trouble because I went live on my TikTok and I didn't talk about
04:10my own merchandise.
04:12Huh?
04:12Then that's an issue?
04:13Yes.
04:14Interesting.
04:15Apparently it is.
04:16Wow.
04:16So I went on TikTok live because I have a young man who was on America's Got Talent.
04:21Yes.
04:22AGT.
04:22His name is Mackenzie.
04:24So it's still early enough.
04:26You can vote, vote, vote, vote, vote.
04:27You just go to the thing and you type it 10 times.
04:31Yeah.
04:31And he's fabulous.
04:33Yeah.
04:33Uh, his mother was my bestie all through the hospital.
04:38She was sitting there.
04:40She's the one that got the, uh, the surgeon that did the spine surgery.
04:44She got him to the hospital.
04:45She was there every other weekend in prison, came to visit me religiously.
04:50She was a godsend to me and he is now killing it.
04:56Oh my God.
04:56And we need him to win this.
04:57So that's why you got on TikTok live.
04:59That's why I got on TikTok live and he got on, like I accepted him.
05:02Oh God.
05:02Yeah.
05:03So we were together and you know, we talked about Dolly a little bit at the beginning
05:07and I said, Oh my goodness, Mackenzie Dolly.
05:10And he started this gorgeous acapella version of tumble out of bed.
05:17You know, he was just so beautiful right off the cuff, but this kid's talented.
05:21Well, I only brought up TikTok and my algorithm because I have so much Abby Lee Miller and dance
05:26moms on my TikTok.
05:28It's constantly popping up.
05:29Do you also, do you see how, how much and how often you're on TikTok?
05:33Yeah.
05:33It's kind of insane.
05:35And so I'm like, what are my favorite Abby Lee Miller moments?
05:38It's hard to choose just one, but Danny and I can kind of agree that you scoot into Baskin
05:43Robbins.
05:44Yes.
05:45And then going to the police station.
05:46When we told people we were going to interview, they were like, bring up Baskin Robbins.
05:48They're like, Oh, we're going to talk about Baskin Robbins.
05:50Do you not think I would have a Baskin Robbins deal?
05:53Oh my God, really?
05:53No, you need one.
05:55You need like an Abby Lee Miller Sunday or something.
05:58Yes.
05:59Okay.
05:59First of all, I just want to know what, obviously you weren't going to Baskin Robbins, but you're,
06:03you were so quick.
06:04It was right across the street.
06:05Oh, you were?
06:06It was a one stop shop.
06:07Oh, okay.
06:07So I thought that was just kind of like your excuse to tell them you were going to Baskin,
06:10but you were really going to the police station.
06:12No, I spotted the Baskin Robbins when we got there.
06:15I knew where we were.
06:16It was right across the street.
06:18It's a Dunkin slash Baskin.
06:19Oh.
06:19And now it's a Dunkin slash Jimmy John's, which I also like Jimmy John's.
06:24Okay.
06:24Okay.
06:25A different, a different treat.
06:26Yeah.
06:26Wait, so did you actually go to the Baskin Robbins?
06:28Yes.
06:28Wait, what's your order?
06:29Sure.
06:29So wait, so when I left, I went around the corner to the police station.
06:33Okay.
06:34And did that first.
06:35Oh, that was before Baskin.
06:36Okay.
06:36And then you got, you deserve a little treat.
06:38Then I came back over and I went to the Baskin Robbins and by then one of the executive producers,
06:44I can say her name, Kim Chesler, she doesn't work at the network anymore.
06:48She was there with her baby toddler and a stroller.
06:52Like it was a whole thing.
06:53And all the producers then were over there trying to find me.
06:55And I went in and I ordered Baskin Robbins and then for everyone in the place.
07:00And then I made her pay it.
07:02Yeah.
07:02Oh, hell yeah.
07:03Wait, did you scoot out before the payment even came out?
07:05No, no, no.
07:05So she would just suck with it?
07:06No, no.
07:07I said, she's paying.
07:08I'm obsessed.
07:09Wait, do you remember what you ordered and what is your typical order?
07:11I don't remember what I ordered, but my favorite flavor at Baskin Robbins is something
07:15they don't have anymore.
07:16It's called grape ice.
07:18Ooh.
07:19And it tastes like Welch's grape juice frozen.
07:23It's so good.
07:23Wait, are you a Dunkin girl then too?
07:25No.
07:26No?
07:27Not a coffee.
07:28Do you?
07:28No, I don't drink coffee at all.
07:30Oh, really?
07:30Is that how it's always been?
07:31Oh, wait.
07:32You tumble out of bed with a Coca-Cola?
07:34Yes.
07:35I'm obsessed.
07:36Yes.
07:36Oh my gosh.
07:37That is so funny.
07:38I know, but that is, you really are like every time I open my feed, it's you.
07:41Really?
07:41And everyone lip syncs to you too.
07:42Oh my God, yeah.
07:43I know.
07:43What's funny is when the kids ask me, why can't I talk today?
07:47When the kids ask me to do a TikTok with them, and they play my voice for me, and they're
07:56like, this is what we need you to do.
07:58And I go, but I did that.
07:59I can just do it.
08:00Right.
08:00I don't need to lip sync my own voice, I can say it, and they don't get it.
08:06And with that moment, because it was all about theater etiquette.
08:09Yes.
08:09And you go to a lot of shows.
08:10Oh.
08:12Go on.
08:13How much time do we have?
08:14We have so much time to do.
08:14Last night.
08:15Go on.
08:16Was kids night.
08:17Oh gosh.
08:18On Broadway.
08:18Okay.
08:19I'm scared.
08:19So I went to see one of my former students, John Michael Fumar, big shout out John, he plays
08:23Fred in Chicago right now.
08:25Handsome.
08:25And yes.
08:27Straight.
08:27Yeah.
08:28Damn it.
08:28Okay.
08:29And.
08:30The story got less interesting, but go on.
08:32Yes.
08:32Kids night, what?
08:33Okay, yeah.
08:34So it's kids night, right?
08:35And I'm gonna get in trouble for this, I can handle it.
08:38My three beautiful young ladies, 13, 15, 17, are in front of me, I'm in the wheelchair
08:46seat on the end in the back, right?
08:48Yeah.
08:48And then, up and down, up and down, in and out, in and out, scraggly old ripped up jean
08:56shorts, t-shirts, hair a mess.
08:59I'm like, it's not kids night out, it's kids dress badly night out.
09:03Aw.
09:04Kids behave badly night out.
09:06I mean, isn't there like a flyer in the playbill they can go over with their kids before
09:11the show starts?
09:12Wait, did we give them any feedback in person?
09:14A little bit.
09:15Wait, what would you say?
09:16Wait, what is a tip for someone, as someone who wants to like, because I love going to
09:20the theater, and I get annoyed when people are acting weird around me, but I never know
09:23what to say.
09:24Like, what do you do?
09:25Sit down.
09:26No.
09:27You don't move until the end of the act to go to intermission.
09:32Then run.
09:33Right.
09:34If you wanna knock every little old lady out of the way to get to the bathroom, by all
09:37means, do your thing.
09:38But do not, in and out, in and out, up and down, up and down.
09:41Oh, my God.
09:42Does that mean, do you like then?
09:43Because like, Patti LuPone is famous for yelling at people in the audience.
09:46Do you think that?
09:46Oh, yeah.
09:47Yeah.
09:47Abby's like, I support that.
09:49You're like, I wanna help her yell.
09:50Before our annual recitals, like the dance concert at the end of the year, our students
09:56got a handbook of what to do and what not to do, you know?
10:00And have you been seeing too that there's, and I saw like one of the producers of Titanic
10:04is joining it, there's an unauthorized Dance Moms musical.
10:08Oh.
10:08Okay.
10:09Oh, no.
10:09Uh-uh.
10:10That is not us.
10:11Oh, okay.
10:12You're not into it.
10:12That is not me.
10:13Okay.
10:14That is not Satan, the producer from Dance Moms.
10:17Oh.
10:17That is not, that is not us.
10:19Okay.
10:20We are working on Dance Moms, the musical.
10:25Okay.
10:26Oh, really?
10:26The real deal.
10:28Wow, that's so fun.
10:29The real deal.
10:29With a four-part docuseries, Finding the Kids to Play the Kids, Nationwide Search, that's
10:36us.
10:37Okay.
10:37Okay.
10:37Which you probably haven't heard anything about yet.
10:39No.
10:39Oh, no.
10:39Oh, no.
10:40Because it's the real deal.
10:40Wait, that's amazing.
10:41Their thing is having a Kickstarter.
10:45Did, did Kander and Ebb and Bob Fosse have a Kickstarter for Chicago?
10:50I don't think so.
10:51I don't think so.
10:52Well, I love that you're working on your own thing.
10:54I feel like to cast your musical production, it's, I mean, that's like a big feat.
10:59Are you casting for like the specific roles of like Maddie and Chloe and Mackenzie or they're
11:04new characters?
11:05No, no, no, no.
11:06They're the characters.
11:07Oh, wow.
11:08Okay.
11:08That's so interesting.
11:09Better dancers.
11:11Oh God.
11:12Okay.
11:12Better singers, better dancers.
11:14Oh my God.
11:15That is so funny.
11:16Wow.
11:16So now I love that.
11:18Is there, so there could be a world where like two dance mom musicals are happening at
11:21the same time?
11:22Well.
11:23Or do we have plans for the other?
11:24I think one will close quickly and the other will lock, yes.
11:27Yeah.
11:27The other one is like the candy apples version.
11:29Wait, speaking of candy apples, you and Kathy have been working together on Dance Battle.
11:32I know.
11:32Wait, this is crazy.
11:33This is so crazy because clips that are always popping up on my TikTok is Kathy just being
11:39so mean to you.
11:41Oh, really?
11:42Do you not remember all the things she said to you?
11:44But I feel this was like a little mosquito.
11:46She like said the gnarliest to you.
11:48I love that you're working together.
11:49How did you sort of find a way towards forgiveness?
11:52Well, long after season eight, we did a YouTube together and she kind of apologized and this
11:59and that.
11:59And there's a lot of underlying things why I did not like her or like her on the show.
12:05Right.
12:05And it was more to do with production, giving her her own team, letting her pick who was
12:10on the team.
12:11Right.
12:11Right.
12:11You know, my mother's weren't camera friendly enough and she could pick whoever she wanted.
12:16I see.
12:16But ugly, she could pick them.
12:18It didn't matter.
12:18Oh God.
12:19She was picking them on the talent of the kids.
12:21Yeah.
12:21I didn't get to do that.
12:23Oh, I see.
12:24I see.
12:24So that's a little bit frustrating, but I mean-
12:26And they give her a boys team and I'm like, whoa, I'm the boy teacher here.
12:30Right.
12:30You're like, where's my boys team?
12:31Yeah, I'm teaching Prats.
12:32Yeah.
12:33Wow.
12:33Can we talk about your iconic photo with Neil Patrick Harris?
12:36Neil Patrick Harris.
12:36Okay.
12:39I love Neil Patrick Harris.
12:41You don't know.
12:41Same.
12:42I love Dougie Hauser.
12:43We all do.
12:43We love him.
12:44I'm not your mother.
12:45He's a good guy.
12:46Uh huh.
12:46He's a good guy.
12:47So we were outside the stage door.
12:50So what happens to me when I wait to take people's pictures, everybody else that's waiting
12:56is taking my picture.
12:57Right?
12:58Oh, I see.
12:58So all the guards know me at every show.
13:01Oh.
13:01So they take me behind the-
13:03The fence thing.
13:04The fence thing.
13:05Yeah, the guardrails.
13:06They take me there and then I'm taking pictures with everybody.
13:10So every actor that you're going to quiz me now on the three guys names, but you know.
13:15Okay.
13:15It was art.
13:16It's the three guys.
13:17Okay.
13:17So first guy comes out.
13:18We shoot the picture.
13:20No problem.
13:20I'm holding my thing.
13:21Right?
13:22Next picture.
13:24Neil comes out.
13:25My assistant, her name was Eleanor.
13:26She's standing there.
13:28She takes the picture and then three people behind her go with their lights.
13:34With their flat, like the light on the thing to give her light.
13:37Okay?
13:37Yeah.
13:38And we get this horrible picture of us.
13:41So I'm posting it myself.
13:42I have a social media man, Michael, but I didn't do it.
13:45I did it myself.
13:45I didn't let him.
13:46I did it myself.
13:48And I put the filter that automatically comes on your Instagram that you can swipe across.
13:54And that's what happened.
13:56And it's horrible.
13:56But I got a lot of press out of it.
13:57Yeah, you did.
13:58And did Neil, I feel Neil appreciated it too.
14:00He, yes.
14:01And better yet, John Stamos.
14:04Oh.
14:05Hotty, hotty, hotty.
14:06Yeah.
14:07He photoshops me into every picture that he takes.
14:11Wait, I'm obsessed with that.
14:13Wait, that's hot.
14:13Yes.
14:13I come there in all the backgrounds of John Stamos.
14:16This picture really made an impact.
14:19It's actually, we have a picture of it right here.
14:21It's absolutely beautiful.
14:21I think it made an impact because he said something about it.
14:25I think he was obsessed with it.
14:27I think so.
14:27It was an iconic moment.
14:29But I know him.
14:30I first met him at one of Elton John's Oscar parties.
14:34Oh, wow.
14:34And he said to me, whenever I have kids, they're coming to you, but I don't want to sit upstairs.
14:39I want to be in the room.
14:40I want to hear what you're saying.
14:41Wow.
14:41And now he has two kids and I know his daughter, you know, is going to dance, act, sing.
14:46I was going to say, do they have the dancing bug in them?
14:48Yes.
14:49I believe they do, yes.
14:50Wait, that's exciting.
14:51I know.
14:51But that's scary because now all my students that I'm training from all over the country,
14:56all over the world, have to compete against Northwest and Blue Ivy and Neil Patrick Harris
15:02is good, you know.
15:03I see.
15:03Yeah, I mean, it's tough when you're up against Nepo babies.
15:06Uh-huh.
15:07Yeah, because they're stealing jobs on, you know, the Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl,
15:11et cetera.
15:12Whatever they want.
15:13Right.
15:13They get whatever they want.
15:14But I love that you're still nurturing young talent.
15:17Young talent who might not even know what, like, Dance Moms the TV show was.
15:21Like, how do you find new talent these days?
15:24Well, talent's everywhere.
15:25I mean, the kids are incredible.
15:27Yeah.
15:27It's just dealing with the parent.
15:29Yeah.
15:30So it's like still Dance Moms.
15:31Do they listen?
15:32Yes, and I can brag about a young lady that I just, I've been training her for the last
15:38five years.
15:39And she is a new Mouseketeer for Disney.
15:43Oh, yeah, because the Mickey Mouse kind of coming back.
15:45Her name is Scarlet Petty.
15:47Very exciting.
15:47Oh, I love that as a star named Scarlet Petty.
15:49Yes.
15:49And she is just a nice sweet kid and nice parent.
15:53So far, knock on wood, the mother has been okay.
15:55And she's pretty, and she's kind, and she did it.
16:01Wow.
16:01I love that.
16:01I switched her to my acting friend.
16:04I switched her to one of my kids here in the city, Kirsten Scott, who's teaching her
16:09voice.
16:10And so you've got to get the right team around these kids.
16:13I mean, you really are a star maker.
16:14Is there a formula you have to, like, how did, the trajectory is always Abilie Miller
16:19and then something great.
16:20Well, thank you.
16:21I appreciate that.
16:22You don't miss ballet class.
16:23Okay.
16:23No matter what.
16:24Yeah.
16:25No matter what.
16:25You don't miss my classes.
16:27No matter what.
16:28I teach on Zoom all over the world.
16:29Wow.
16:30And you said you're going to the Emmys this year?
16:32Yeah.
16:32That's so exciting.
16:33I go every year, but I switch it.
16:34Sometimes I go to the big one with the stars, and then sometimes I go to the creative
16:38arts Emmys because I have friends.
16:41Yeah.
16:41I'm a little bitter.
16:43I wish that, that's one thing I don't have is an Emmy.
16:45An Emmy?
16:46Yeah.
16:46We did, John and I did 637 routines for a TV show.
16:53Wow.
16:53That's wild.
17:22That's wild.
17:23Oh my God.
17:24And her mom owned a studio.
17:26Oh, that's right.
17:27Yeah.
17:27Yeah.
17:28So she kind of grew up with it.
17:29She did some jobs that some of my kids did.
17:31Oh wow.
17:31And she actually won one of my competitions.
17:35Wow.
17:36Oh, okay.
17:37Way back in the day.
17:38Okay.
17:38I respect her more now.
17:39Online thing way, way back.
17:41Wow.
17:41Oh my God.
17:42That's amazing.
17:43Wait, and also, speaking of dancing queens, Madonna is back this year with her whole dance
17:47album, Dancing Her Heart Out To.
17:48I know.
17:49Rosie O'Donnell is my, just, if I can only be that smart and that witty and that funny,
17:55my God.
17:56She's so smart.
17:56She did so well.
17:57She did so well on Camel.
17:58I know, but she is so smart.
18:00Yeah.
18:00Just in real life too.
18:02Yeah.
18:02Like not on camera.
18:02She's so unbelievably kind and smart and everything.
18:06Yeah.
18:06And if I would have been better friends with her years ago, I probably have all my money
18:11still.
18:12Anyway, she's tight with Madonna.
18:15Yeah.
18:15You know, we were on a flight once flying to England together, sitting right next to each
18:21other, and she was just going over to see Madonna.
18:24And I was going to the concert as well.
18:26Wow.
18:27But she was flying there just to see that and flying back.
18:29And I go, you're flying all that way to see the concert.
18:31She's like, hey, that woman was so good to me.
18:34I would do anything for her.
18:36Wow.
18:36Oh, that is so sweet.
18:37That's beautiful.
18:38And I love too that you and Rosie, even though you would like to be better friends with her,
18:40that you guys are good friends.
18:41Yeah.
18:42No, we are.
18:42We are.
18:42Yeah.
18:43So she has one of her daughters, Vivian, I'm going to say?
18:48Yes.
18:48She was a dancer and grew up dancing in New Jersey and competed against the Dance Moms
18:54cast.
18:55Oh, cool.
18:55Oh, my God.
18:56It was great fun.
18:57So you would see Rosie around at competitions?
18:58No.
18:59No, I wouldn't see Rosie at competitions.
19:00No, no, no, no, no.
19:03She said that my kid came home and was just ecstatic that you were there and your cast
19:07and everything.
19:08Oh, my God.
19:08That's really, really cool.
19:08She really does just seem to have the best energy.
19:10Yeah.
19:11Oh, my God.
19:12Would you ever think about-
19:13She should play me.
19:14Oh, my God.
19:14That would be yes.
19:15Oh, my God.
19:16Have you been talking to her about the musical?
19:18A little bit.
19:19I need to talk to her more because she has all the ins and outs.
19:22That would be incredible.
19:22She just did a run off-Broadway, so she is getting back into-
19:26Yes, she is.
19:26...live performing and everything.
19:28Oh, my God.
19:28She would, especially because she's a fan of your work, I feel like she would do such
19:31a good job.
19:32I don't know.
19:33I think she thinks I'm pretty mean, but Rosie has Rosie's kids here in New York.
19:39Oh, yeah.
19:40Oh, yeah.
19:40And I've taught there.
19:41She offers dance, voice, acting for underprivileged.
19:45Well, I don't know if they're underprivileged, but they have to apply for it.
19:48Yeah.
19:48And it's free.
19:50It's a beautiful building right in Hell's Kitchen.
19:54She does all of this.
19:55Rosie does all of this.
19:56Wow.
19:57Oh, my gosh.
19:57I know you're-
19:58We're talking about Rosie.
19:59Wait, you know what?
20:00It's my show.
20:00It's your show.
20:01That's right.
20:01That's why we're going to take a very quick break, and we've been hanging out with Abby
20:03Lee Miller, talking about all the things, but especially Abby Lee Spills the Tea and Uncorked
20:08Towel All.
20:08This Monday, you're going to be at the New York City Winery, August 31st at 7.30 PM.
20:13Yes.
20:13And you're going to be in Chicago on October 26th, St. Louis, October 28th.
20:16Well, I don't know all of that.
20:18Yeah.
20:19I'm double-checking it for you.
20:20But I am teaching a dance class in Brentwood, California, near San Francisco.
20:24Oh.
20:24Cool.
20:25Next Saturday, there's still more tickets.
20:26It's in a huge high school gymnasium, so there's lots of space.
20:30Cool.
20:30And I also do a little Spills the Tea there after my classes for the kids that don't dance.
20:35Wow.
20:36And then I'm in Ecuador.
20:38I'm in Panama.
20:40Later in the month, I go to Monterrey.
20:45No.
20:46Mazatland?
20:47I don't know.
20:47She's everywhere.
20:48You're a busy girl.
20:49Yeah.
20:50That's crazy.
20:51And then I have a new show called Abby versus Kathy Hit the Eight.
20:57Oh, my God.
20:58Anytime you and Kathy link up, it's just-
21:00It's heaven.
21:00It's amazing.
21:01It is-
21:02Really?
21:02This is going to be-
21:04I think it should be Abby Beats Kathy.
21:06That's my name.
21:07It probably will be.
21:08Abby versus Kathy.
21:08It will be, yeah.
21:09Yes.
21:10And so it's a competition show.
21:12Okay.
21:12We start with 164 kids, and then we cut it in half, cut it in half, cut it in half,
21:17all
21:17the way down to a winner of $10,000.
21:21Wow.
21:22Okay.
21:23And a loser.
21:24Okay.
21:24Oh, no.
21:25Yes, it's 10 grand.
21:27And for all the dance parents out there, it's free.
21:31It's free.
21:31Zero entrance fee.
21:33It's nothing like it ever, and your kid could walk away with 10 grand.
21:36Wow.
21:36That is incredible.
21:38Right?
21:38Not the studio walking away with 10 grand, and not the teacher, and not-
21:41Right, but yes.
21:42Do you feel like you and Kathy's relationship has evolved into a better place?
21:46Like, how would you explain your dynamic today in 2026?
21:49Well, we both believe in good technique.
21:52Okay.
21:52It's important.
21:53I teach great technique.
21:55She believes in technique.
21:56Okay.
21:57Okay.
21:57So then, and I just think that when we're on the same side, trying to get the better dancer,
22:04it works better than us coming in with our own teams.
22:07Like opposing, yeah.
22:08Right, but we've already got season two.
22:10Right.
22:11We're gonna shoot, I believe in December, season two.
22:14And then, at that point, I'm gonna take my last four, and she'll take her last four.
22:21And then we're gonna kind of be going at it again.
22:24Okay, that's really fun.
22:25I like this.
22:26The first one, we were pretty nice.
22:27Yeah.
22:28This is cool.
22:28This one is gonna get a little bit.
22:30I love it, because you're kind of calling this out in the driver's seat of this show,
22:33but does the concept or idea of reality TV ever excite you to go back and join an ensemble
22:41or something like that?
22:42Like the Real Housewives of Rhode Island?
22:44Oh my God, yeah.
22:44I was like, what is it?
22:45Hey, we heard you got a call.
22:47Yeah.
22:47Yeah, I did.
22:48I did.
22:48We're working out logistics.
22:50Okay.
22:51Did you watch the first season?
22:53Sure.
22:54Right.
22:54Okay.
22:55Wait, so the thing is, Alicia-
22:58You would be Alicia's daughter's dance captain, right?
23:01Yes, coach.
23:02Dance coach, okay.
23:03Yes.
23:03To teach her a solo.
23:04Choreograph a solo.
23:05Very solo, okay.
23:06Now, Alicia's daughter from the first season, she's a star.
23:07Oh, yeah.
23:08She is.
23:09The little girl?
23:09Yeah, yeah, yeah.
23:10Yes.
23:10And Alicia is a star, too.
23:11Oh, that's totally.
23:12I would say she's probably like the breakout star.
23:16Yeah.
23:17Alicia.
23:18Alicia doesn't drive her daughter to dance class because she doesn't like driving.
23:21She doesn't like driving.
23:21She's not a good driver.
23:22So, the dad takes her to dance.
23:24Well, I've been dealing with the dad.
23:25The dad, okay.
23:26That makes sense.
23:26All right.
23:26He's the business boy.
23:27Yeah.
23:27Yeah, yeah, yeah.
23:28Wait.
23:28Oh, my God.
23:29I need you just to like kind of be a friend of the Housewives.
23:32Oh, my God.
23:32Yeah.
23:33That'd be amazing.
23:34I could.
23:34You really could.
23:35I know, like, Rosie, one of the kids.
23:37I know Rosie would be obsessed with you.
23:38Oh, my God.
23:39Rosie would love you.
23:41Oh, for sure.
23:411,000%.
23:42Well, speaking of reality TV, I'm sure you probably knew, but like, I think, I want
23:46to say like maybe three, four years ago, they were trying to do a reboot based in Miami.
23:50Oh, yeah.
23:51Whenever they try to like, you know, reboot a show like Dance Moms, for instance, like,
23:56how, like, what are your feelings on someone rebooting it without you?
23:59Like, and doing a different version.
24:01Dumb.
24:01You think it's dumb?
24:02Yeah, I think it's dumb.
24:03LOL.
24:03And why would it be dumb for them to reboot it with a totally new studio in a different
24:09city?
24:10I think when it's the same network trying to do it, it's just dumb.
24:15I think if somebody else has some other idea and they try to do something and just copy
24:19off of you, that's fine.
24:21But what if it's the same people doing it?
24:23Right.
24:23It's just dumb, especially because of social media, because the old stuff is out there.
24:27It's never going to go away now.
24:28Yeah.
24:29You know, when it was the Brady Bunch, it kind of went away.
24:31Right.
24:31We needed a new show, you know?
24:33Right.
24:34It's so funny.
24:34We interviewed Jan Brady in the studio.
24:36We did.
24:37You were sitting in the same seat.
24:39Yes.
24:39Yes.
24:40Oh, my God.
24:41I made it.
24:43Jeez.
24:43Please.
24:43I'm laughing.
24:45For any, do you, cause you have gone to, you said you go to the, you've been to the
24:48Emmys.
24:48Yes.
24:49You were around celebs all the time and performers.
24:51Have you ever given unsolicited advice that did not go well to like a performer?
24:55Or a celebrity.
24:56Or a celeb.
24:57I probably, but I, but I, they didn't say it to me.
25:01They probably turned around and said it to somebody else.
25:04Has there been anybody that you were like, here's a tip.
25:06Like, did you give any good advice?
25:08Cause I would listen to, if I was a celeb, I would be taking advice from them.
25:10I just think so many, uh, young people, they don't know how to stand in shoes and heels.
25:16They don't know how to stand and pose for pictures and they don't know how to walk.
25:22And the legs crossed just looks like you have to use the ladies room.
25:24It's so bad.
25:25Oh God.
25:26They need to lengthen their leg.
25:28I feel like when you probably go to an event like the Emmys, people come up to you and are
25:32like unexpected fans.
25:33Like who's been the most unexpected celebrity fan of you or dance moms that is like freaked
25:37out when they see you.
25:38Well, I don't know if she was a fan, but, uh, Hax, Jeans Bart.
25:43Oh my God.
25:44I love her.
25:45I was coming like running to the ladies room or whatever at the Emmys.
25:49And she was head to head with me and she's like, Oh my God, you look fabulous.
25:55Love you.
25:55And out she went.
25:56So I don't know if she actually knew who I was or she just.
25:59Oh, I feel like she definitely knew.
26:00And also that's a woman who knows how to stand in her heels.
26:02Oh yes.
26:03Like she has, she has a posture.
26:05Yes.
26:05A little older crowd.
26:07They do.
26:07They know how to stand.
26:08Right.
26:09Uh, but.
26:10The younger girls.
26:11Young people.
26:11They're like in parallel second.
26:13Oh no.
26:16There was something else I was supposed to say.
26:18Oh, I do know.
26:20You don't probably even, you guys probably don't have this yet, but my documentary, I
26:25signed on to do a doc.
26:26There were six different companies that came to me.
26:29Oh my God.
26:29Fremantle, like big, big people.
26:31They came to me and I had meetings with everyone.
26:33And this just felt like the right fit.
26:36Finally.
26:37Okay.
26:37It felt like the right fit.
26:38It's with a light box.
26:40Okay.
26:40And Jonathan.
26:41And yeah, that's.
26:43Are you also has some pool in the West end.
26:45So I'm thinking that maybe dance moms, the musical.
26:47Yeah.
26:48That'd be beautiful.
26:49Cause I know you're thinking of the cast and we were throwing Rosie O'Donnell out
26:52there, which would be so fabulous.
26:53Is there any other dream?
26:54Yes.
26:55Yes.
26:56Yes.
26:57Kristen Chenoweth.
26:59Oh, wait, Rosie O'Donnell and Kristen Chenoweth.
27:02In the same musical.
27:04Come on.
27:04Inspired by.
27:05I'm going to.
27:06We don't have that kind of money though.
27:07I know.
27:08Kickstarter.
27:09Promise.
27:10Promise.
27:11So what will the documentary cover?
27:13The documentary is about dance moms.
27:15Okay.
27:15Yes.
27:15The show.
27:16Okay.
27:16My.
27:17Journey after.
27:19Well, no.
27:19Or even leading up to it.
27:21I guess.
27:21I don't know yet.
27:22We didn't shoot.
27:23We just got the word that everything's signed, sealed and delivered.
27:26Congratulations.
27:26That's amazing.
27:27That's amazing.
27:28I feel like the world needs an Ivy Lee Miller dance moms documentary.
27:31Are you.
27:32Hopefully the network that it's airing on will realize that, you know, they still make
27:37money off of me every day.
27:39They really do.
27:40Yeah.
27:40Yeah.
27:40The dance moms.
27:42What's it called?
27:44YouTube.
27:44Yeah.
27:45The dance moms YouTube.
27:46Oh, I'm sure.
27:47Yeah.
27:47Or something.
27:48So I need everybody out there to follow me and subscribe to my YouTube channel.
27:55Right.
27:55My YouTube channel.
27:56You know, Jordan Matters, a dear friend, he got that big deal with Netflix and it's me
28:01on it.
28:02The stuff he sold.
28:02That's so cool.
28:03And I'm like, wait a minute.
28:04You're the money maker.
28:05We didn't get in that deal?
28:06Yeah.
28:06I mean, he's a genius.
28:07But still.
28:08But still.
28:09My YouTube channel, it's very educational.
28:11There's acrobatic things on there.
28:12There's legs and feet things.
28:13Oh my gosh.
28:14There's no drunk mothers.
28:15It's good.
28:16Wait.
28:16Also, how are your ears doing?
28:18Because you had the ear surgery?
28:19Great.
28:19Yay.
28:20Amazing.
28:21I think any women, you know, that are interested in doing that, they should definitely do it.
28:26So what is it exactly that you had done?
28:27It was painless and cheap.
28:29Yeah.
28:29What was it?
28:29Oh, I love that condo.
28:31Painless and cheap.
28:32Stuck filler in my ear lips.
28:33Oh, wow.
28:34To plump them up.
28:34Because you get the line from wearing heavy earrings.
28:37Yeah.
28:37Yeah.
28:37It's easy.
28:38I always have a little filler.
28:40And you're able to go back into the...
28:41And you have good hoops on, right?
28:42I have big...
28:44Yeah.
28:45I always buy earrings that cover that.
28:47Okay.
28:47And now I don't have to.
28:48I can wear hoops because they go right there.
28:50Wow.
28:50Are there any other cosmetic procedures that you're into?
28:52Are you a Botox girly?
28:54Do you like filler elsewhere?
28:55Yeah.
28:55I'm the 11.
28:56Okay.
28:57I wish I would have known about all of it when I was 20-something.
29:00I would have done it then and now you don't have to do it.
29:02Right.
29:03Yeah.
29:03It's all preventative.
29:04I know.
29:04Everybody wants me to have a whole body lift because I have all the skin hanging, but
29:08it's too painful.
29:10Yeah.
29:10It's way too painful.
29:11Yeah.
29:11You don't need it.
29:11You're perfect.
29:12I was going to say, no, no, no, no, no.
29:13Yeah.
29:14And also the recovery would be so long too.
29:15Oh my God.
29:16Yeah.
29:17And also, you'll be too busy with your documentary and your musical and all of this stuff.
29:21It is so incredible.
29:22I know.
29:22I'm like the busiest person who doesn't have a job.
29:24You really are.
29:24Do you feel like you're busier now than you were back in 2010?
29:28Yes.
29:28Yeah.
29:29But it's a good busy.
29:30A good busy, yeah.
29:31I did that whole show with Kathy.
29:32Yeah.
29:33No one made me cry.
29:35No one screamed in my face.
29:37No one went behind my back trying to do things.
29:40Right.
29:41No one filmed me until I said, yes, I'm ready to be miked.
29:45Right.
29:45Oh, good.
29:46It was such a better-
29:46You're in the driver's seat, baby.
29:47Yeah.
29:48What's a day off for you?
29:49Or does a day off stress you out because you love to work?
29:51No, I like a day off.
29:52Are you kidding me?
29:53I want to sleep in late and then I want to lay in the sun.
29:58Okay.
29:59Oh, yes.
29:59That's my downfall with the skin.
30:01Yeah.
30:02Do you wear your SPF?
30:03Hell no.
30:05Oh, Abby.
30:05Abby.
30:06I wear nothing.
30:07Wow.
30:08Oh my goodness.
30:09Nothing.
30:09Oh my gosh.
30:11I have been out at that pool since I was three years old.
30:14Wow.
30:15Okay.
30:15Every summer.
30:16So you wake up late, go to the pool and then maybe you hit up Baskin Robbins.
30:19That's a day.
30:19Doesn't that sound like a perfect day?
30:20Maybe a movie.
30:22Maybe a movie and then you go to Jimmy John's after.
30:23Right.
30:24Exactly.
30:25Or I go to Jimmy John's and I sneak it into the movies.
30:27Oh, hell yeah.
30:29Oh, that sounds so good.
30:30No, that's not genius.
30:31When you dip some of that popcorn into the sweet and sour sauce from any fast food place,
30:35it's so good.
30:36Wait, I've never.
30:37Wait, hold on.
30:37Wait, you're blowing my mind.
30:38I've never thought to do that.
30:39But the sweet and sour sauce from like McDonald's or something with popcorn?
30:42Kind of good, right?
30:43Yeah.
30:43Burger King.
30:44Burger King is better.
30:45And Chick-fil-A.
30:46Oh, Chick-fil-A, the Polynesian sauce.
30:48Have you had that?
30:49I know.
30:49It's so good.
30:50I'm running through my veins right now.
30:52I love the Polynesian sauce.
30:54Oh my God, Abby Lee Miller.
