00:28height though where we are assuming that ice was broken is about 5200 meters from the sea level
00:36and then the vertical drop of almost 1200 meters and then again it the ice might have melted during
00:46that drop and then again it carried several amounts of tons of sediments in that low parts and then
00:56again there was another vertical drops all the way to the rivers which was about at 3000 meters so
01:04these very high impact very high speed have caused the melting of the broken ice and then also carried
01:13out the loss of sediments along the way. Probably what's actually happened is it's just kept going
01:18and it's incorporated all of the water in the river valley and pushed it out the front kind of almost
01:27like a syringe pushing or you know plunging it out in front so you get this kind of all the
01:33water
01:33that's there being shoved out front but at the same time is melting the ice and collecting other water
01:39and things so you get this really hyper concentrated flow of what's kind of like concrete
01:52It doesn't take long for them to be going well over 100 kilometers per hour sometimes 200 kilometers per hour
01:58and anything in the way gets incorporated into it and shoved out the front and they become very powerful
02:07But you know suffice to say I have never seen anything like those videos. I have seen the aftermath and
02:17I've seen you know a lot later but to
02:20you know to see what was going on there and and it's just incredible
02:28There will be a hazard of things falling down and the the height of the flow is such that you
02:35know in some cases
02:36there must be tens of meters up the sides of the hill so you know a couple of tonne rock
02:41falling 10 meters
02:42is a hazard in itself all the way down 60 kilometers so the rescue effort is going to be just
02:48you know a very difficult operation
