00:04I'm going to talk about some of the most psychologically damaging movies ever made.
00:12And if you ever decide to watch them on your own, don't say I didn't warn you.
00:17This isn't shock value.
00:20This is the kind of horror that gets inside your head and rearranges things.
00:24I'm a psychologist.
00:25I study what darkness does to the human mind.
00:28And I watch films that most people will shut off instantly.
00:32This isn't a list.
00:34This is a breakdown of how each film targets a different part of your psychology.
00:40We are going from disturbing to full mental breakdown.
00:44So basically, it's bad to work.
00:47I rank these by how deeply each one interferes with your brain.
00:52In the end, I will tell you what kind of movies really get to me.
00:57What's disturbing?
00:59Because, yeah, some things do disturb me.
01:02But it might not be what you think.
01:04So for me, this list, these aren't movies.
01:08They're case files.
01:09Let's get started.
01:11Number 10.
01:12Trauma.
01:13Horror doesn't always come from monsters.
01:15Sometimes it is inherited.
01:18Poor woman.
01:18A remote countryside.
01:20A man and his son.
01:21And very quickly, you realize this isn't random.
01:24This is generational trauma in motion.
01:27Pain doesn't disappear.
01:29It transfers.
01:30And the film forces you to watch that transfer happen in real time.
01:35Your brain tries to distance itself.
01:38This isn't me.
01:39This isn't my life.
01:40But the reason it lands at number 10 is because you can still separate yourself from it.
01:46The opening of this movie is what's disturbing to most.
01:49But what I learned from this movie is trauma brings trauma.
01:55It's like, duh.
01:57But traumatic people bring damage.
02:00But if the idea of inherited pain already makes you uncomfortable, you're not going to
02:04like where this goes.
02:06Number 9.
02:07The life and death of a porno game.
02:09This isn't one person going too far.
02:12It's a group sliding together.
02:14Every decision feels temporary.
02:16Justify.
02:17Creative.
02:18Until it isn't.
02:19This is what moral drift looks like.
02:21People don't snap.
02:23They slide.
02:25And the film makes you slide with them.
02:27You don't feel the exact moment you cross the line.
02:30You just realize you're on the other side.
02:33Clinically, this mirrors how real people rationalize harm.
02:36One small compromise at a time.
02:39If that felt a little too real, the next one takes your sense of reality away completely.
02:45Number 8.
02:46Snuff 102.
02:47Your brain hates uncertainty.
02:49This film weaponizes it.
02:51A journalist investigates violence and reality starts slipping.
02:56Scenes feel disconnected.
02:57But your mind keeps trying to stitch them together.
03:00That's the trap.
03:02Your brain keeps trying to correct what you're seeing.
03:05It can't.
03:06And the more it fails, the more anxious you get.
03:08This mirrors sterilization.
03:10When the world feels unreal.
03:13But you can't prove it.
03:14If losing control of reality bothers you, wait until your brain tries to escape it entirely.
03:21Number 7.
03:22Slaughtered vomit dolls.
03:23This isn't a story.
03:25It's a psychological state.
03:26No structure.
03:28There's no clarity.
03:30Just repetition.
03:31This mirrors disassociation.
03:33The mind's emergency exit.
03:35When reality overloads, the mind fragments.
03:38Time distorts.
03:39Identity slips.
03:40And at some point, you stop watching it and start feeling it, you know?
03:46Your brain tries to anchor itself, but there's nothing to hold on to.
03:50That's why people regret pressing play.
03:54If that shook you, the next one removes your ability to fight back at all.
03:58Number 6.
04:00The bunny game.
04:01Pain is predictable.
04:03Unpredictability is torture.
04:05Abduction.
04:06No logic.
04:07No pattern.
04:08This is learned helplessness.
04:09When nothing you do changes anything, the brain shuts down.
04:15If you've seen this movie, no spoilers here, that laughter isn't strength.
04:21That's the mind disconnecting from the body.
04:24Clinically, this is the moment trauma locks in.
04:27If that made you feel trapped, the next one makes it personal.
04:32Number 5.
04:33August underground mortem.
04:35At some point, you forget you're watching a movie.
04:38No music.
04:38No structure.
04:39Just presence.
04:40Your brain processes this like memory.
04:42Not fiction.
04:43That's the danger.
04:44The worst moment isn't what happens.
04:46It's realizing you're still watching.
04:49Your brain keeps waiting for a cue, tone, music, anything.
04:53Something to tell you how to feel.
04:55But there's nothing.
04:57So your mind fills the silence with its own reactions.
05:00If that crosses the line for you, the next one removes meaning itself.
05:05Number 4.
05:06Be gotten.
05:07Your brain will try to understand this.
05:09It won't.
05:10No dialogue.
05:11No direction.
05:13Just images that feel wrong.
05:15Your mind searches for patterns because it needs meaning.
05:18So it builds something.
05:20Even if it's wrong.
05:22That unresolved loop.
05:23That's what trauma feels like.
05:26Your brain trying to finish a story that never had an ending.
05:29If your mind hates not understanding, the next one removes the rules entirely.
05:35Number 3.
05:35I'm sure I'm going to mess how I say this.
05:40Vos de nos noses?
05:43Was it the wedding something?
05:46The wedding thought?
05:48Anyway.
05:49It's here somewhere.
05:52Up there.
05:52I'm going to write it.
05:53I can't say it.
05:55It's basically a man and his pig.
05:59So remove society and watch the mind mutate.
06:02One man.
06:03No rules.
06:04No witnesses.
06:05Morality isn't eternal.
06:07It's reinforced.
06:08Take that away long enough and the brain adapts.
06:12Fast.
06:14Uncomfortably fast.
06:15This film shows how quickly isolation can warp behavior.
06:19And the worst part is how plausible it feels.
06:22If that felt wrong, it's because part of you knows it's not impossible and it gets worse.
06:29Number 2.
06:30Subconscious cruelty.
06:32It is a work of art.
06:34Your mind will search for meaning.
06:36It won't find any fragments, rituals, almost patterns.
06:39Just enough structure to keep you trying.
06:41Never enough to succeed.
06:43This traps your brain in a loop.
06:45When something doesn't resolve, it repeats.
06:48Again and again.
06:50You know, it's your brain trying to find meaning in something.
06:56That's why this film stays with people.
06:58It doesn't end.
06:58It just stops.
07:00If that felt like it wouldn't leave your head, the last one removes something even darker.
07:05Number 1.
07:06August Underground.
07:08The horror here is normalcy.
07:09No escalation.
07:10No emotion.
07:11Just routine.
07:13Your brain looks for cues, meaning, reaction, morality.
07:16There are none.
07:18And that's where everything breaks.
07:20Not what happens, but the fact that in this world, it doesn't matter.
07:25Your brain keeps waiting for a signal that never comes.
07:29And the silence becomes the violence.
07:31So you just went from inherited trauma to complete emotional absence.
07:38Each film targeted something different identity, perception, control, meaning.
07:43The real question isn't which one was the worst.
07:47It's why your brain reacted at all.
07:49That's the part that people don't like to think about.
07:52So I told you in the beginning, stick with me till here so I could tell you what gets me
07:57in movies.
07:58I can watch gore all day.
08:00But if I see vomit and maggots and shit, it just gets to me.
08:07It's like, oh my god, what did I watch?
08:09I just watched someone get butchered.
08:12But once the vomit gets out, and I have OCD, so I just feel so dirty watching that.
08:21Everything else is okay.
08:22Yeah.
08:23There has to be something wrong with this doctor, right?
08:27I mean, yeah.
08:30I mean, trauma is my specialty, so I've had to have trauma in my life to really understand my patients.
08:39That's why I could never be an addiction therapist, because I've never had that.
08:44But I understand trauma, I understand PTSD, and I understand fear.
08:51Comment the number that got you if you've seen the movies.
08:54And if you, I'm not recommending these movies, because if you're the type that a Serbian film or I Spit
09:03on Your Grave got you,
09:04these are not for you.
09:06But if you're like me, and nothing bothers you, and you're numb to it all, then watch it.
09:15Just, I'm not recommending.
09:17That's not what I do.
09:19I just talk about it.
09:21I go deeper.
09:22I go into the psychology.
09:24I want to talk about more movies like this.
09:28And if you really want to understand what's hardest in the mind, not just watch it,
09:33you know where to be.
09:35Rest easy.
09:36Or don't.
09:37I want to talk about it.
