00:00After years of waiting, Kingdom Hearts fans finally have a substantial new look at Sora's next adventure.
00:06Nintendo Direct has revealed a brand new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4 showing off new gameplay, combat, characters, and locations,
00:14while also confirming that Nintendo fans won't have to sit this one out.
00:18And yes, Kingdom Hearts 4 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 at launch.
00:53Nintendo Switch 2 at launch.
01:04Nintendo Switch 2 at launch.
01:05The Tsk Reaching.
01:07Mega Shizu and the Tsk Reaching.
01:08The Tsk Reaching.
01:21There's a Tsk Reaching.
01:23Nice.
01:46That was our latest look at Kingdom Hearts 4, and there's quite a bit to unpack.
01:50Kingdom Hearts 4 was originally announced back in 2022 during the franchise's 20th anniversary celebration.
01:57The game will kick off a new storyline known as the Lost Master Arc.
02:02Sora, Donald, and Goofy are all returning, but Square Enix is still keeping many of the game's story details under
02:08wraps.
02:09And honestly, that's probably for the best.
02:12If you've followed Kingdom Hearts, you already know that the trailers tend to give fans just enough information to start
02:17asking a hundred new questions.
02:19The latest footage is no different.
02:21We're getting glimpses of new locations, characters, and situations surrounding Sora, but there are still plenty of mysteries surrounding exactly
02:29where this story is going.
02:31The trailer also gives us a much better look at the gameplay.
02:34Sora can be seen battling enemies across different environments using the series' familiar combination of physical attacks, magic, and flashy
02:42special abilities.
02:43There's plenty of movement as Sora chains attacks together on the ground and in the air, while the combat appears
02:50to build on the systems introduced in previous games.
02:53The action looks more fluid with smoother transitions between attacks and movement.
02:58While Square Enix hasn't revealed every new mechanic just yet, the footage suggests that Kingdom Hearts 4 isn't simply trying
03:05to recreate the combat from previous games.
03:08Instead, it looks like the developers are expanding on that established formula while bringing the series into a new era.
03:15And of course, the trailer gives us even more characters and locations to speculate about.
03:20Because this is Kingdom Hearts, I'm sure fans are already pausing the trailer, looking at every frame, and trying to
03:26figure out exactly what Square Enix is hinting at.
03:29But the biggest surprise may actually be the platform announcement.
03:33Kingdom Hearts 4 will be available on Nintendo Switch 2 at launch alongside the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and
03:41S, and PC versions.
03:42That's a pretty significant change for the franchise on Nintendo hardware.
03:47Previous Kingdom Hearts games and collections eventually came to Nintendo platforms, but several of those releases were cloud versions.
03:54This time, Nintendo players will be getting the next mainline Kingdom Hearts game as part of its launch lineup.
04:00So whether you're playing on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch 2, or PC, there will be multiple ways to experience Sora's next
04:08journey.
04:09There's one thing Square Enix still hasn't given us. A release date.
04:13Despite finally showing substantial new footage and confirming the Switch 2 version, Kingdom Hearts 4 still doesn't have a specific
04:20release date.
04:21So while this trailer gives fans plenty to talk about, we're still waiting to find out exactly when we'll be
04:27able to play the game.
04:28Still, after years of limited information, getting a major new trailer is a pretty big deal.
04:34The Lost Master arc is officially taking shape. Sora, Donald, and Goofy are preparing for another adventure, and now Nintendo
04:41fans know they'll be able to join them on Switch 2 at launch.
04:45After waiting this long, the big question isn't whether Kingdom Hearts 4 is still coming. It's how much longer are
04:51we going to have to wait.
04:53Let me know what you thought of the new trailer and whether you'll be playing Kingdom Hearts 4 when it
04:57finally arrives.
