00:00Hi, I'm Cassie, Head of Beauty at HELLO, and I'm here today with the brilliant pro stylist,
00:05Pete Burkill, and we're here to talk about Kerastase's new Chronologist range.
00:09We all love a good hair day. How much does healthy hair and hair that's got vitality and fullness,
00:16how does that kind of feed into confidence?
00:19It's getting into character. So I think that when your hair is feeling like it's got bounce and
00:24shining vitality, you feel good. You've got a spring in your step. And I'm so fortunate I get
00:30to work with hair in so many different settings, but we talk about it a lot in terms of how
00:35to
00:36biohack our system and stay really strong and healthy. But then it trickled into skincare and
00:42talking about it in hair, it's exactly the same thing. It's not about fixing the problems as you
00:47get them and putting out fires. It's about always having this base. So starting these routines from
00:53a much younger age. Now I've hit the perimenopause. As you saw my hair, like it's always been rebellious,
01:00but it's like it's gone into overdrive in the last few years. So it's, I really noticed like
01:05textual changes and it's harder to style it. Like I'm doing the same things that I've always done
01:10and it's not doing, it's not responding in the same way. Is that something that you see with your
01:15clients as well? That changing of hormones, isn't it? Yeah. It's, you know, thinking back to kind of
01:21probably 10 years ago, I'm sure that you would have been recommended really heavy oil-based
01:26products that would moisturize your hair, but probably mean that you would find it impossible
01:30to get volume or bounce. Totally. I want a bit more bounce and a bit more vitality to it.
01:35So I think it's being a bit more strategic with the ingredients. Tell me about the goodies in this
01:39then. What is it going to do to my hair? Bronolage Use Urbanite Serum. Got a super high level of
01:44proxy lane in it, which is kind of skincare grade ingredient. Makes your hair feel super revitalized
01:50in the morning, really shiny. Helps you with your elasticity. So if you're someone who wears your hair
01:56up a lot and you get breakage from hair ties or whatever. So do you think this is the key
02:01step then,
02:02the serum step for that kind of prejuvenation aspect? Yeah, I think it's a must. Speaking of
02:10sleep and overnight products, I think before I use this, I think my main worry was residue.
02:17There'd be residue on my pillow and my hair would look a bit lank in the morning. What do you
02:22think
02:22are the main sort of myths with overnight treatments? Well, I think a lot of it myths that
02:27it's so time consuming. Well, it's not. It's a few pumps and you're working through your hair or it's
02:33going to stain my pillowcase. It's going to mean I have to wash my hair the next day. And we've
02:39moved on
02:40from there. Like we're so much more advanced. This range is so much more advanced. It's gel based.
02:44It's not sticky. You leave no residue. Your hair just looks incredible and healthy, like you've had
02:50a treatment. And if you can repair your hair while you sleep, then it's a win-win. And anything that
02:57you can do as you sleep is a win for me. So this is stuff that you can do at
03:00home, obviously. But if we
03:01talk about salons as well, because I love a professional treatment, but how important do you think
03:07like scalp and hair treatments within the salon? How important do you think that is?
03:12So the in-salon treatment is more concentrated and they use acupressure scalp massage. It's a
03:19great thing to do is to start your journey with the professional in-salon treatment. And then
03:26your take home after is how you maintain that result at home.
03:29Well, thank you so much, Pete. It was great to chat here.
