00:04I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan, in the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
00:06Praise be to Allah, Lord of all worlds.
00:07Assalatu vesselamu ala rasulina Muhammad and ala alihi and ashabihi ecmain.
00:12Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet.
00:15Therefore, O people of faith, send blessings and peace upon the Messenger of Allah with complete submission.
00:21My dear fellow believers,
00:22One of the stars shining in the sky of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)
00:27We will continue, God willing, to translate the life story of our master Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him).
00:32My brothers and sisters, as we all know, our master Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him)
00:36He was born in Mecca in 618 AD, the eighth year of the Prophet's mission.
00:43We mentioned that he was the son of Abbas, who was the uncle of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
00:47My brothers, so much so that our master Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him)
00:51He was a young man who had come close to the apple of the eye of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
00:55He himself recounts, saying that one day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took him on the back of his camel.
01:00And he said to me, "Abdullah," he said, "shall I give you some advice?"
01:05"I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, please tell me,' and our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told me these pieces of advice," he said.
01:11Abdullah said, "Obey the rights of Allah, and Allah will obey you."
01:19Abdullah said, "Don't ask anything from anyone."
01:23And thirdly, he said, "O Abdullah, even if the whole world were to gather together to harm you..."
01:28Unless God wills it, unless God decrees it, no one can harm you, he said.
01:35And likewise, if Allah Almighty wishes to harm you, even if the whole world were to gather against you, they could not protect you from Allah's wrath.
01:43They can't protect us, he said.
01:43My brothers and sisters, it's so important that our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is giving an education to a 14-year-old middle school student.
01:51You know how some people are introducing this "skill model" education system today, supposedly for the spiritual development of people?
01:58To help students develop sensitivity towards Islam.
02:02Unfortunately, in the model they have introduced, students neither develop sensitivity towards Islam,
02:06Nor do the students gain any fear of God or awareness of the afterlife.
02:10If a model of wisdom is to be presented, here are the words of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to a 14-year-old child:
02:20Listen up, my brothers.
02:21What did he say?
02:22He said, "O Abdullah, uphold the rights of Allah, and Allah will uphold your rights."
02:27Allahu Akbar.
02:28Currently, Muslims around the world—we, the Ummah of Muhammad—are failing to uphold the rights of Allah.
02:35What does God not do to protect our rights, our lives, our property, our inheritance, and our blood, my brothers and sisters?
02:42He's not watching, is he?
02:43Look, are they currently ruling the world according to God's religion, or are they governing people with laws they have created themselves?
02:52When people, that is, when a coup is staged against a president they themselves have elected,
02:58They rise up in protest when a coup is staged against a president who has been elected through a democratic ballot box.
03:04Yes, staging a coup against someone the people have elected is a bad thing.
03:08But just as people rise up against those who stage coups, why don't they rise up when God's sovereignty is attacked?
03:17If only we could rise up, just as much as you worry about that, against those who strike a blow against God's religion—against the democrats, the aristocrats, the Kemalists.
03:26Because we uphold God's religion and because we uphold God's rights, wouldn't God want to protect us?
03:33That is why the Ummah of Muhammad is currently resisting these aristocrats and democrats who are striking a blow against the religion of Allah.
03:42because we were unable to adopt such an attitude
03:45God isn't holding our hand, my brothers.
03:48What did he say second to Abdullah ibn Abbas?
03:50"My dear child," he said, "don't ask anything from anyone."
03:54So, my brothers and sisters, our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wanted to see this nation not as a nation that begs, but as a nation that begs.
04:03But is this nation currently a nation that begs, or has it become a nation that begs?
04:09Isn't the second one more in the middle?
04:11We are begging. What are we begging for? We are begging Europe for weapons.
04:15What are we begging for? We are begging for security from the Kremlin's palaces.
04:18What are we begging for? We're begging for some military equipment from such and such places, right?
04:23But look, the Messenger of Allah taught this nation, through a 14-year-old child, how to resist and strive, my brothers and sisters.
04:32Isn't this one of the biggest problems facing our Muslim community right now?
04:36And what did he say third? He said, "My little one."
04:40Even if the whole world came together, no one could harm you unless God willed it, unless God permitted it.
04:48Really?
04:49My brothers and sisters, this is such an important thing. Those who trust in God will not be left stranded.
04:53Those who have God on their side will not be left stranded.
04:56God does not abandon those who set out on a path for His sake, for His cause.
05:01But whom do we trust more than God?
05:05We trust in technology.
05:06Whom do we trust more than God?
05:08We're counting on having the US behind us, aren't we?
05:11There are currently two communities on Earth that are living by this hadith.
05:16One of them is the mujahideen there in Afghanistan.
05:18Secondly, my brothers and sisters, those oppressed people in Gaza.
05:22What are they thinking while listening to Israel?
05:25They say that Israel cannot harm us unless God wills it, which is why they have been resisting since October 7th.
05:33If God wants a model of education based on divine knowledge, then someone should show the model of education based on divine knowledge, as demonstrated by our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), through Abbas, who was only 14 years old.
05:44We are given some too.
05:45My dear brothers, Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) was such a man devoted to knowledge that our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) visited Medina.
05:54When the Prophet passed away in Medina in the 23rd year of his mission, hadith scholars came to Medina from Damascus.
06:01He was so devoted to knowledge that he came to Jabir ibn Abdullah and said, "Jabir, look, scholars of hadith have come from Damascus, come and see them."
06:09When he said, "Let's go to him and learn some hadiths about our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him," Jabir ibn Abdullah said, "Abdullah, what are you doing?"
06:18While we should be dealing with the funeral arrangements of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), there is a funeral taking place right now, and instead of handling it, you are coming from Damascus...
06:28Are you talking about learning from the scholars who come here?
06:32Allahu Akbar.
06:34Although Jabir ibn Abdullah said this, he went and gathered some information about our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) from the hadith scholars of Damascus.
06:42He learned the information.
06:43My brothers, what does this signify? This is a sign of Abdullah ibn Abbas's yearning for knowledge.
06:50If you want to learn a subject somewhere, you need to do as Abdullah ibn Abbas did; first, you need to have a desire for it.
06:57Indeed, when Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked, "O Abdullah, how did you acquire this knowledge?", what did he say?
07:05I achieved it with two things.
07:06I achieved it through three factors: my desire, my passion, and my perseverance.
07:12So, today I started learning, today I became acquainted with Surah Al-Imran, today I became acquainted with Surah Al-Baqarah.
07:16So, after a month, can a man who hasn't opened a book learn knowledge from the Quran?
07:22A person who says, "Today I started reading Bukhari, I started reading Muslim," and then three months later tries to open a book of hadith, may God...
07:30Can he learn about his religion?
07:31Of course they can't learn, my brothers and sisters.
07:34Therefore, our scholars have said that everything has an obstacle, but knowledge has even more obstacles.
07:41So, on the day you go to a gathering, when you have no other work to do, on the day you go to learn a science or attend a discussion, that day will be the day...
07:50Something will definitely come of this, my brothers.
07:52Something might come up that day, or you might get a headache, or you might get sick.
07:56Therefore, everything has an obstacle, and knowledge has many obstacles, our scholars have advised us.
08:04Look, my brothers and sisters, what did our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say about Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him)?
08:10He said, "O Lord," he said, "make Abdullah poor in religion, and O Lord, teach him the science of interpretation."
08:18My brothers and sisters, our scholars, when explaining this prayer of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), have said that:
08:24Our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said implicitly,
08:28O Lord, just as You taught Abdullah ibn Abbas the words of the Quran,
08:33They say he prayed, "O Lord, teach me the meaning and significance of the Quran."
08:39So, our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) advised us to first learn to read the Quran properly from one side, since we are already struggling to read it from the other.
08:47Then, to understand the Quran, which we sometimes read but don't understand and whose meaning we can't grasp, we need clear interpretations.
08:56He advised us to listen to the words of learned scholars and understand the Quran accordingly.
09:01But we don't really do that, do we?
09:03We only read or listen to the words of the Quran, but when it comes to its meaning or significance,
09:10My dear brothers and sisters, we are not making any effort to understand its meaning and significance.
09:15Now, for example, the religious scholar is reading verses about hell.
09:20For example, even though the religious scholar was reciting verses about hell, the man...
09:24For example, they start laughing or smiling because they don't know the meaning.
09:29Come on, you don't smile when reading verses about hell, you cry, right?
09:33Or, Allah Almighty speaks of paradise in the Quran, He speaks of houris, He speaks of ghilman.
09:39A believer should smile when hearing these things, but unfortunately, we don't know their meaning.
09:47Just because we hear the words, what do we do? We start crying.
09:50Come on, you don't cry when you talk about paradise and virgins!
09:53Professor Mehmet Ali, isn't that funny?
09:55So, what should we do about this?
09:58We also need to make an effort to understand the Quran.
10:01For, my dear brothers and sisters, reciting the Quran verbatim is a Sunnah (recommended practice).
10:07However, understanding the Quran, as our scholars have said, is obligatory.
10:11Therefore, we also need to make an effort to understand.
10:14The man says, "Teacher, I have read the Quran, I have read it word for word,"
10:20What has he understood by simply reading the Quran word for word?
10:24He says, "I'm going to name my child,"
10:27Therefore, he says, I am naming it using the wording found in the Quran.
10:31So, is this why the Quran was revealed?
10:32You named your children after a name that comes from the Quran.
10:36God didn't send this book so you could give names to your children,
10:40He says it is based on the verse "Oghuz-u Billahi Minashshaytanirrajim" (God is with Allah, from the accursed Satan).
10:43"I named my child Oğuz," he says.
10:45Allahu Akbar, Professor Aydın.
10:47"Teacher," he says, "I love Tere very much."
10:49Why? Because it's mentioned in the Quran, he says.
10:51Where do you think it takes place?
10:52Elem Tere says.
10:53Elem says it's in Tere, you know, Tere, it takes place there.
10:56Or, as my teacher says,
10:58"Secularism," says Mehmet abi, "is also in the Quran."
10:59He says secularism exists, he says it's in the Quran.
11:01He says you're attacking secularism in your conversations.
11:04You say secularism is bad, but...
11:06The Quran says, God spoke about secularism.
11:08Where do you think my brother mentioned it?
11:10Laikra hefiddin said, "Allah says."
11:12Laikra hefiddin said, it is said.
11:15Allahu Akbar.
11:16So, our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
11:19He doesn't want a community that reads the word like that.
11:22One who understands the meaning, what God has said,
11:25Because he wanted to see a community that understood his intentions.
11:28This is how our scholars have interpreted the words of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
11:34My dear brothers, Abdullah ibn Abbas,
11:36Knowledge has become so profound that...
11:38So, just looking at the glitches of events,
11:41by only looking at the surface of events,
11:43judging by appearances,
11:44No regulations have been issued.
11:45Look, in this way,
11:47Some of the Companions of the Prophet who came to him said:
11:49To Abdullah ibn Abbas,
11:50They said, "Oh Abbas!"
11:52One day, our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,
11:54Between Sefa and Merve,
11:56He counted the verses while riding a camel.
11:59Therefore,
12:00on a camel,
12:01Our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him),
12:03counting,
12:04They asked if it was circumcision.
12:07Abdullah Ibni Abbas radiyallahu anh,
12:08He said,
12:09Part of this statement is true,
12:11He also said that some of it is wrong.
12:13The part that is correct,
12:15Our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
12:16Between Sefa and Merve,
12:18It is performing the ritual of counting on a camel.
12:20The part that's wrong is,
12:21on a camel,
12:23Counting between Sefa and Merve,
12:25He said that it means saying he is circumcised.
12:28So, if it's not circumcision, then what is it?
12:30Because, he said,
12:31On that day, Sallallahu Aleyhi Vesselam,
12:33He mounted the camel.
12:34He counted between Sefa and Merve.
12:36From where?
12:37I want people to hear me better.
12:40on the camel's back,
12:41He mounted the camel.
12:41Or,
12:42mounting the camel,
12:43Counting between Sefa and Merve,
12:45He said it is absolutely not circumcision.
12:48What are some of these guys doing now?
12:50He comes out and says,
12:51"My teacher says,"
12:52He says in the mosque,
12:52He says from the loudspeaker,
12:53The call to prayer says to read,
12:54He says it's heresy.
12:55No, why would it be considered heresy?
12:57So there's no religious issue here.
12:59A loudspeaker is a tool.
13:01Therefore, in order to make her voice heard by people,
13:03Our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
13:05How did he mount the camel?
13:07And if he shouted so that people there could hear him more easily,
13:10today in the mosque, in the prayer hall,
13:12Imam Efendi,
13:13What can Vais Efendi do?
13:14My brothers and sisters, you can recite the call to prayer through the loudspeaker.
13:17So there you have it,
13:18Our master Abdullah ibn Abbas,
13:20by looking at such events superficially,
13:22Rather than being someone who makes pronouncements superficially,
13:26He was blessed with the prayer of our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
13:29And he spoke about the wisdom behind the events.
13:32My brothers and sisters are like that,
13:33Then one day, some of the companions said:
13:36They said, "O Ibn Abbas!"
13:38From our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
13:40Hundreds of hadiths were narrated.
13:42One of these hadiths is as follows:
13:44On Friday,
13:45Each of you should perform a ritual bath (ghusl).
13:47Then he said, "Read Surah Yasin."
13:49There are many hadiths related to this.
13:51Then they said,
13:52On Fridays,
13:54taking a ritual bath (ghusl)
13:55Reading Surah Yasin,
13:56When they ask whether it is obligatory or recommended,
14:00Look, our master Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him),
14:03By looking at the apparent meaning of the hadiths,
14:05He says that rather than focusing on the action itself, he is conveying the jurisprudence of the matter;
14:10I swear, he says.
14:11From our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
14:13These hadiths that have come down,
14:15not an order
14:17My brothers said that these hadiths are about politeness.
14:22When they asked him what to do with all those hadiths,
14:24In all of those hadiths,
14:26Our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is here,
14:28He did not issue us an order,
14:30out of politeness,
14:32While coming to the mosque on Friday,
14:33He said it out of politeness,
14:36Otherwise, no one would rely on these hadiths,
14:38This is obligatory.
14:39This is obligatory.
14:40He said that they do not have the right to say that.
14:42Listen, my brothers and sisters,
14:43I want to get into a subtle detail here.
14:45Now the man gets up,
14:47He picks up a book of hadith,
14:49And after reading this book of hadith, he says,
14:51The hadith states that our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this.
14:54But he says,
14:55Imam Abu Hanifa says,
14:57This hadith says,
14:58He expressed an opinion as an opponent,
15:00He says he has developed an appetite.
15:01And the man had read that apparent hadith,
15:04He attempts to criticize Imam Abu Hanifa based on this.
15:08Allahu Akbar.
15:09Listen, my brothers and sisters,
15:10these hadith books,
15:12It is Bukhari.
15:13He is a Muslim.
15:14It is red.
15:15It is Ibn Maji.
15:16Or it is Ahmad ibn Hanbal,
15:18Or it is a muwaddāh of Imam Malik.
15:20All of these hadith books,
15:22They are books of knowledge.
15:23It was narrated to our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
15:26the hadiths gathered here,
15:28The scholars who gathered here,
15:30He did not gather these hadiths there so that ordinary people could read them.
15:33Among those hadiths,
15:35There are hadiths related to speech,
15:37There are hadiths related to jurisprudence.
15:39There are hadiths related to creed.
15:41Therefore, a Bukhari,
15:44a Muslim,
15:44A normal, ordinary man picks it up,
15:47My brothers and sisters shouldn't read this.
15:48Of course, I'm not saying we shouldn't read hadiths here.
15:51Let's read the hadith.
15:53However, if there are hadiths related to etiquette,
15:55Let's read them.
15:56Yes,
15:57Yes,
15:57Or if there are any hadiths that encourage us to give charity,
16:00Let's read them.
16:00But,
16:01If there are any hadiths related to jurisprudence,
16:03If we are going to read these hadiths as well,
16:05definitely,
16:05knowledgeable in the science of hadith,
16:07This hadith was narrated by our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
16:10For whom did he say it?
16:11Or does this hadith have a special significance?
16:13with someone who knows this,
16:15under supervision,
16:16We need to read.
16:17Or else, my brothers,
16:18What do we do?
16:19Look,
16:19Our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
16:21from the purpose he stated,
16:22Anything else,
16:23By saying that, we would be transmitting a false statement into his language.
16:27God will hold us accountable for this tomorrow as well.
16:31My brothers and sisters,
16:32Look,
16:32Imam Tirmidhi, may Allah have mercy on him, says:
16:34When I wrote my duration,
16:36He says, "I have received three authentic hadiths for my study."
16:38And,
16:39These three authentic hadiths also say,
16:41From the scholars of the Muslim community,
16:43none of them,
16:44He says he never, ever performed the procedure.
16:47Well,
16:47Imam Tirmidhi, may Allah have mercy on him, says to us:
16:50the authenticity of a hadith,
16:52that hadith by someone,
16:54That doesn't mean it can be operated on.
16:57So,
16:58In every authentic hadith,
16:59because it cannot be operated on,
17:00My brothers are teaching us a method.
17:03Alright,
17:03Our sectarian imams are here,
17:05What is its place and importance, my dear brothers and sisters?
17:07Here are our school of thought imams,
17:08These hadiths were given to us,
17:10Our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
17:12Why did he say that?
17:13Did he say that because of a special circumstance?
17:14Or is this hadith...?
17:15Does this apply to everyone in general?
17:17These,
17:17Because there are imams who inform us,
17:20what they said,
17:21What should we do?
17:22We need to listen.
17:24Let me explain,
17:25those who transmitted the hadiths to us
17:27Our hadith scholars,
17:28For example, Imam Bukhari,
17:29Imam Muslim,
17:30What have they done, my brothers?
17:32These are linden trees,
17:33They gathered the leaves,
17:35They piled them up in one place.
17:38Imam Abu Hanifa,
17:39Imam Shafi,
17:40Scholars like Imam Malik also...
17:41Scholars like Ahmad ibn Hanbal also...
17:43This hadith is from our imams,
17:45what he brought to us,
17:46They squeezed the linden tree leaves,
17:49the pulp,
17:50They separated the water, my brothers,
17:52Then they tell us,
17:53Here, take a look.
17:54We separated it from the pulp,
17:55We extracted the fluid.
17:56They told us to drink this liquid,
17:57They are presenting this.
17:59Let me ask you,
17:59that is, a linden tree,
18:01Is it more difficult to eat the leaves dried?
18:04Or else, my brothers,
18:05Is it more difficult to drink its water?
18:07Isn't it?
18:08Eating the leaves dry,
18:09It is more difficult to digest.
18:11But separated from its pulp,
18:13to drink the liquid,
18:14It is much easier and,
18:16It also keeps us healthy and energetic,
18:18It's proof, my brothers.
18:20You get up and climb the linden tree,
18:22If you try to eat its dried leaves,
18:24Saying, "I act according to the apparent meaning of the hadith,"
18:26If you surpass the scholars,
18:27What happens then?
18:28It also harms your health, and,
18:31You'll get constipated, my dear brothers and sisters.
18:33Because of this,
18:34our scholars told us,
18:36the words he suggested,
18:37What should we do?
18:39We need to listen.
18:40This is so important,
18:41Look, my dear brothers and sisters,
18:42Zahide al-Kawthari,
18:44From Ottoman scholars,
18:46A scholar says,
18:47non-sectarianism, that is, lack of scholars,
18:49He said it's a bridge leading to irreligion.
18:51From where?
18:52Because this religion,
18:53It has three doors.
18:54The first gate is the gate of the scholar,
18:56The second door is the circumcision door.
18:58The innermost door is the door of the Quran.
19:00So today there are no sects,
19:02The men who say there are no scholars today,
19:05So those who broke this door,
19:06They will come this time and say,
19:08There is no circumcision either.
19:09They will say there is no hadith either.
19:11After breaking down this door as well,
19:13They will come and say,
19:14They will say that there are fabricated verses in the Quran as well.
19:17And aren't we hearing this today?
19:19What is the man saying?
19:20He says,
19:21The Quran says it's not the word of God,
19:22Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him),
19:24one that he himself published,
19:27Doesn't he say it's just words?
19:28What is the reason for this?
19:30At work,
19:30Imam Abu Hanifa was also a man of character.
19:32I'm a man too.
19:33Therefore, as he reasoned,
19:35I also have an appetite,
19:36because of the men who said,
19:38Unfortunately, this is the situation we've come to.
19:39Look, my dear brothers and sisters,
19:41an old woman,
19:42He came to a scholar,
19:43He told her there was a problem.
19:46When asked, the scholar...
19:48After asking the question,
19:50The scholar said to him,
19:51to this problem,
19:52Should I answer by looking at the Quran and Sunnah?
19:54Or should I answer according to Abu Hanifa?
19:57The woman said,
19:58He said, "Answer according to Abu Hanifa."
20:02The man called a scholar said:
20:03"Hey woman," he said.
20:04I tell you, the Quran and the Sunnah.
20:06When he said, "Are you calling me Abu Hanifa?"
20:09Look, that faith we call "old wives' faith,"
20:11How important is it that the woman says,
20:13I swear, he says.
20:15I want you to answer according to Abu Hanifa's view.
20:17Because Abu Hanifa's interpretation of the Quran and Sunnah...
20:21"I believe he understands better than you," he said.
20:23Allahu Akbar,
20:25Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters,
20:26For 13 centuries, Allah Almighty has...
20:29Imam Abu Hanifa,
20:30Imam Shafi'i,
20:32Ahmad ibn Hanbal,
20:33Imam Maliki,
20:34Sufyan al-Thawri,
20:35They gave us the names of men like Imam Awza'i,
20:37He didn't deliver it by chance.
20:39To indicate that God is protecting this religion from its scholars,
20:44Look, what can we do with these names right now?
20:46We know.
20:47So what should we do about it?
20:48We need to be careful.
20:50So, we have seen the apparent meaning of a hadith,
20:52rather than acting upon it,
20:54We need to go and ask a scholar about this, right?
20:57So we shouldn't adopt an attitude like this.
21:00We will not act upon the hadith based solely on its literal meaning.
21:04By looking at the apparent meaning of a hadith,
21:06This hadith doesn't make sense to me.
21:08Saying it doesn't conform to the Quran,
21:09We will not reject it, my brothers.
21:11What are we going to do?
21:11We will go to a scholar,
21:13In this hadith, our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
21:16Which recorder mentioned it?
21:18What is he trying to say?
21:19We need to ask this question.
21:21My dear brothers and sisters,
21:22I lived,
21:23Let me tell you about an incident that happened to me in Konya.
21:26One day, in a similar conversational setting,
21:28I said the same things.
21:30I said, my brothers,
21:31if Bukhari, like Muslim,
21:33If we are going to read these scholarly books,
21:35We need to study under the supervision of a scholar.
21:38In other words, the interpreters of the Quran,
21:39What he did to the Quran,
21:41In other words, without reading the commentary,
21:42without consulting scholars,
21:44just as they derive their own interpretations from the translation,
21:47what they did to the Quran,
21:49If we don't want to do it to the hadiths,
21:51then a sheikh,
21:53I said we would read these hadiths under the supervision of a scholar.
21:56He objected to me.
21:58He said,
21:59"my teacher," he said.
21:59Abdullah ibn Umar also looked at the hadiths literally.
22:03He acted in the same way.
22:04Of course, that's what my dear brother said,
22:06It's not Abdullah ibn Omar, is it?
22:08He was granted the blessing of our Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) prayer.
22:11the learned one
22:12You're certainly not like a scholar who has narrated a lot of hadiths to us.
22:15So I said to him,
22:16Since it is permissible to read the hadiths literally in this way,
22:19And if it is permissible to act upon it,
22:21I said, let me read you a hadith.
22:23I said, "Tell me what you understand from this hadith."
22:26And I narrated to him, my brothers, the following hadith from our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
22:30Look, our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says:
22:33My brothers, none of you should perform ablution with containers that have been left out in the sun.
22:39"Here you go, brother," I said.
22:41What do you understand from this hadith?
22:42He said,
22:43"The hadith is quite clear and straightforward," he said.
22:45It's quite clear and straightforward.
22:46So if water that has been left in the sun has warmed up,
22:49He said that one cannot perform ablution with that water.
22:52Okay, I said,
22:52If someone performs ablution with that water,
22:54Would his ablution be invalidated?
22:56It is possible.
22:56Alright,
22:57Would the prayer of someone who hasn't performed ablution be invalidated?
22:59Yes,
22:59He said that it would also corrupt the prayer.
23:01Similarly,
23:02If this man were to perform ritual ablution (ghusl),
23:04Will there be corruption again?
23:05Yes,
23:05It will cause corruption.
23:06I told you not to do it, brother.
23:08At that time, people in Konya performed ablution in houses equipped with solar energy.
23:13You've rendered every single person in Konya who performed the ritual ablution impure (junub).
23:17You have corrupted everyone's prayers.
23:20Allahu Akbar.
23:21So what does this hadith tell us?
23:24This hadith doesn't tell us that.
23:26Look, Imam Abu Hanifa,
23:28may God have mercy on him,
23:29This hadith of our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
23:31While explaining, he says:
23:33The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) explained the following to us through this hadith.
23:37You,
23:38Like Mecca,
23:39Like in Medina,
23:40In the Jazilat al-Arab region,
23:41that is, the temperature in the middle of the day,
23:44You live in a place where it feels like 50 degrees.
23:47Your body is already overheating.
23:49Therefore,
23:51In addition to your body getting hot,
23:53by performing ablution with hot water,
23:54He meant, "Don't let it overheat too much."
23:57Allahu Akbar.
23:58Therefore, my brothers and sisters,
24:00What if I were to say to you,
24:02If I were to say, "Let's talk and clear the air,"
24:04you pick up a stone from outside,
24:07stuffing it into your skirt, pants, shirt,
24:09If you could bring it and pour it here,
24:10What can I say to you?
24:11I would say, "Sir, are you ignorant?"
24:14I'd say this is an idiom.
24:15To reveal one's true feelings means...
24:18It's an idiom, Professor Murat.
24:20So, what they've been holding inside,
24:22the feelings they harbored towards me,
24:24It means to take it outside, right?
24:26Therefore,
24:27Our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
24:29Some of his hadiths are like this as well.
24:31Therefore, my brothers and sisters,
24:33in an apparent way,
24:34after reading some hadiths,
24:36to act,
24:37Our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him),
24:39something other than its intended purpose,
24:42It can mean to say.
24:43Therefore,
24:44Let's pay attention to this.
24:45Therefore,
24:46Abdullah Ibn Abbas,
24:47Our Prophet, may Allah be pleased with him,
24:48Look,
24:49Our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him),
24:51He deserved this compliment.
24:52So, it's just, O Lord, to Abdullah,
24:55Not the wording of the Quran,
24:56not the letter of religion,
24:58"And teach him the jurisprudence of religion, O Lord,"
25:00Our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
25:02He prayed to her like this.
25:03So,
25:04Religion has its jurisprudence,
25:05There is a subtlety to religion,
25:06that delicacy,
25:07without knowing,
25:07on our own,
25:08improperly,
25:09I act according to the hadith, etc.
25:11We can't say that, my brothers.
25:13If someone says,
25:14I act according to the hadith.
25:15That man is claiming the following:
25:16He probably means "I am a scholar."
25:20Therefore,
25:20Here are our school of thought imams,
25:22I just gave you a sample of its leaf,
25:25by extracting the juice from linden tree leaves,
25:28so that we can digest it better,
25:30What have they done with those hadiths?
25:31They have given us a city,
25:32Therefore, looking at them,
25:34We need to rely on them.
25:35My dear brothers and sisters,
25:36Our master Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him),
25:38Look,
25:39It is so subtle in its jurisprudence that...
25:41So one day, Hazrat Omar,
25:42Abdullah ibn Abbas, despite being a 14-year-old child,
25:45He took him to the scholarly assembly,
25:47He took them to where some huge men were,
25:49Abdurrahman ibn Abbas said:
25:51Omar said,
25:51Why did you bring such a child to us?
25:54When they asked, "Why are you making us deal with children?"
25:57"I swear," he said.
25:58Abdullah has a very different kind of consciousness,
26:00He said there's a very different perspective.
26:03And Hazrat Omar asked everyone there,
26:05I'm asking you, he said.
26:06What do you understand from Surah An-Nasir?
26:08Hani Izaca,
26:10You know that surah that begins with "Anasulullahi wal Fath"?
26:13O my prophet,
26:13people in droves,
26:15So when you see them entering the religion in groups,
26:18Glorify God,
26:20Seek advice from Allah and trust in Allah.
26:22There is a verse that says, "He is the One who accepts repentance abundantly,"
26:26He asked those present, "What do you understand from this verse?"
26:29Some of the companions said:
26:32From this chapter,
26:33Our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
26:35We understand that he intends to conquer Mecca, he said.
26:37Then when they gave this answer,
26:40There, to 14-year-old Abdullah ibn Abbas,
26:42Hazrat Omar asked the question,
26:44When I asked, "What do you think about this, Abdullah?",
26:47Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
26:50Honestly, I don't think like them.
26:52because from this chapter,
26:54Our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
26:56"I understand that his death is approaching," my brothers said.
26:59Allahu Akbar,
27:00Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) also said:
27:03"Honestly," he said, "I think the same way as Abdullah."
27:05And indeed, shortly after this verse was revealed,
27:09Our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
27:11He/She has passed away.
27:13Again, my dear brother,
27:15Our master Hudhayfah al-Yaman, may Allah be pleased with him,
27:18He says,
27:20To our master Umar (may Allah be pleased with him),
27:21one day will come,
27:23He said the gates of discord will be broken down.
27:26He said the gates of discord will be broken down.
27:28As you know, our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
27:31It is a secret box.
27:32It is the black box.
27:33Huzayfat al-Yaman,
27:34Our master Umar (may Allah be pleased with him),
27:36He was so curious about how this would happen,
27:39Who did he go to ask this question to?
27:41Certainly,
27:42Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) went to ask our Prophet (peace be upon him).
27:46And Abdullah said,
27:48Abdullah said,
27:49When he asked how the gates of discord would be broken down,
27:52Look, my dear brothers and sisters have described the current situation.
27:55And Abdullah ibn Abbas said,
27:57"I swear," he said.
27:58O Omar, he said,
27:59the gateway to discord
28:01People will learn the wording of the Quran.
28:04But the day they fail to learn what the Quran says,
28:08He said it will break.
28:09Allahu Akbar.
28:10So, did we understand how the door of discord is broken down?
28:14They are teaching the word,
28:16But they don't teach the meaning, do they?
28:18The wording of the Quran,
28:20To those who read well,
28:21They are giving out awards on television.
28:24But my brothers and sisters,
28:25Those who explain the meaning of the Quran,
28:27Like Sayyid Qutb,
28:29They're martyring people like Hasan al-Banna, aren't they?
28:32They do not touch the Quran without performing ablution.
28:34But those men who wouldn't touch the Quran without performing ablution,
28:37In a state of ritual purity (having performed ablution),
28:39Aren't they violating the ruling of the Quran, my brothers?
28:42Allahu Akbar.
28:43We're excluding the good ones from this, of course,
28:45Look, there are so many provinces,
28:47There are so many religious institutions,
28:49in these provinces, in the Quran courses of this religious authority,
28:53Is the literal meaning of the Quran being taught?
28:54Or are they teaching the meaning of the Quran, my brothers and sisters?
28:57They teach the words of the Quran beautifully.
29:01They're teaching them how to get the bear out, right?
29:05They are teaching what the sacred letters are.
29:08But my dear brothers and sisters,
29:10what monotheism is, what polytheism is,
29:12What is Taghut, what is Ilah?
29:15They don't teach us who God is, do they?
29:18This is how the door of discord is broken down.
29:20According to our master Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), this is it, my brothers.
29:24So the Quran became a book in such a way that...
29:27It became a book whose words were repeated over and over.
29:30Recitations at cemeteries,
29:32Recited during Mawlid celebrations,
29:33read on beautiful nights,
29:35but what he meant was unknown,
29:38It became an incomprehensible book.
29:40They transformed the Quran into a book that strikes you the moment you hold it.
29:44People can't touch it because they're afraid.
29:46For some reason.
29:48Look, my brothers and sisters, it's like this:
29:50Reading from the words of the Quran,
29:52Reading the Quran to a dead person,
29:54What kind of absurdity is this?
29:57Imagine, for example,
29:58To whom do you explain the necessity of obeying traffic rules?
30:02To someone who is a car driver,
30:04You'd tell this to someone who's a truck driver, right?
30:07Now, imagine this, for example:
30:08because he was involved in a traffic accident and did not obey traffic rules,
30:13he had an accident and in the meantime,
30:15If we go to the grave of a deceased person,
30:17the importance of obeying traffic rules,
30:19If we were to read an article like this,
30:21What will people say about us?
30:22He calls me stupid, doesn't he?
30:23He calls me an idiot.
30:24Come on, the guy's already dead and gone!
30:26Talking to this man about the importance of obeying traffic rules,
30:29Wouldn't people say, "What kind of foolishness is that?"
30:31Likewise, my brothers and sisters,
30:33This book,
30:34It's not a book sent down to the dead,
30:36Because this book was revealed to the living,
30:38likewise from being recited to the dead,
30:41rather,
30:42Because it is a book that should be read to children,
30:45Unfortunately, what do we do?
30:46We tend to read this more to the dead than to the living.
30:50My brothers and sisters, God did not send this book for you to read to the dead.
30:54None of the companions of our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
30:58going to his grave,
31:00You cannot claim to read the Quran, my brothers.
31:03Because they,
31:04From our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him),
31:06When I die, in my grave,
31:08Let's say a Fatiha prayer.
31:09They didn't hear him say to recite the three verses of the Quran.
31:12This Surah Al-Fatiha,
31:14this divine chapter,
31:15Go and tell people what they said.
31:18because of what they heard,
31:19They are not with the dead,
31:21They were interested in the trees.
31:22Here is the gateway to discord.
31:24the main reason for its breakage,
31:26Our master Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him),
31:28That's how he told us.
31:29Then, my dear brothers and sisters,
31:31So we've reached our thirties,
31:33We've reached our forties,
31:34For the sake of God,
31:36pick up a book of commentary,
31:38The one hundred and fourteen chapters of Allah,
31:40from Sayyid Qutb,
31:41from Mawdudi,
31:43Well, here's a quote from Ibn Kathir,
31:44My brothers and sisters, you absolutely must read from a scholar.
31:49When you stand before God tomorrow,
31:51O Lord, I read your book,
31:53I read the words,
31:54I read the dead,
31:55rather than saying
31:56O God, I read your book.
31:58From Ibn Kathir,
32:00From Mawdudi,
32:01I tried to understand it by reading here and there,
32:03Have a ransom in your hands, my dear brothers.
32:06So without understanding this book,
32:09without knowing its meaning,
32:09So, in a way, without getting involved in the effort,
32:12Please, my brothers and sisters, let's not go before God.
32:15such an endeavor of ours,
32:16Let's make such an effort, my dear brothers and sisters.
32:19We became engineers.
32:20We became doctors.
32:21Maybe we became teachers,
32:22They put us through so many different educational curricula,
32:25They made us read all the books.
32:27but the book of God,
32:29If they made us forget how to read,
32:31forgetful as much as they do,
32:33Aren't we guilty too?
32:35Therefore, my brothers and sisters,
32:36Let us also try to learn the meanings of God's book, God willing.
32:40Again, my dear brothers and sisters,
32:41Our master Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him),
32:43He's such a clever man,
32:45Look,
32:46A group called the outsiders emerged,
32:48And these outsiders,
32:49after the zero event,
32:51both to our master Muawiya,
32:52and also our master Ali,
32:53They declared him an infidel.
32:54Then Abdullah Ibn Abbas,
32:56Our master Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) also said:
32:58"Should I go and talk to these outsiders?" he asked.
33:00He went to join the foreigners,
33:02Then he said,
33:03He asked, "Why are you declaring Ali an infidel?"
33:05Then they told the story,
33:06They started listing their evidence.
33:08They say,
33:09Ali,
33:11itself,
33:12He appointed Amr bin As and Abu Musa Ashari as arbitrators.
33:15Therefore,
33:16There is no judge other than God.
33:18He became an infidel because of it.
33:19Two,
33:20Ali,
33:21Aisha and Jamal also fought.
33:23Ayşe to himself,
33:24He did not take a concubine.
33:25Because of this,
33:26He became an infidel.
33:27Fly,
33:28Ali is the Commander of the Faithful,
33:30because he didn't give it to himself,
33:32My brothers say he has become an infidel.
33:34Abdullah said to Ibn Abbas,
33:36my dear brothers and sisters, he says,
33:37"Shall I tell you about them?" he asks.
33:38He's saying, "Look, you're on the wrong path."
33:40So you,
33:41to the events,
33:42You're looking at it superficially,
33:43You are looking at it superficially.
33:45Don't do that, he says.
33:47When they ask you to explain,
33:49He says,
33:50Allah, Glorified and Exalted be His Name
33:51In verse 96 of Surah Al-Maidah,
33:53Doesn't he say it? Yes, he does.
33:55O you who believe,
33:57while in ihram,
33:58If you kill an animal,
34:00Appoint two referees.
34:02those two referees,
34:03Didn't he say that you should determine the diet of the animal you killed?
34:07Even Allah Almighty says,
34:09so that not even a rabbit is killed,
34:12He says, if he ordered the appointment of two referees,
34:15Ali says,
34:16So that the Ummah of Muhammad may not perish,
34:17He says he appointed two referees.
34:19Is that too much, he says.
34:20Allahu Akbar.
34:21He asks them again,
34:23He says, "There were some of you here who were present during the Battle of the Trench."
34:27To our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
34:28He says that Kurayza betrayed him.
34:31Then our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
34:32He made a deal with them.
34:34And,
34:34Sa'd bin Muaz,
34:36They appointed an arbitrator among themselves.
34:37He came,
34:38among them,
34:40Among the Banu Qurayza and the Muslims,
34:42being a referee,
34:42He gave a verdict.
34:43Then he says,
34:44Our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, also said:
34:46Because he appointed Sa'd bin Muaz as arbitrator,
34:49"Has he become an infidel too?" he asks.
34:51Allahu Akbar.
34:52And my brothers,
34:53so much so that,
34:54these pieces of evidence,
34:55Upon seeing these documents,
34:5624,000 of those outside the area,
34:58Historians say that,
35:0020,000 of them have returned.
35:01He joined the ranks of our Prophet Ali (may Allah be pleased with him).
35:04Allahu Akbar.
35:05Well,
35:07Our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him),
35:08Look,
35:09Abdullah Ibn Abbas gave an example from his own life.
35:13And secondly,
35:15you say,
35:16How is that possible, he says.
35:17He also says you overlook verse 6 of Surah Al-Ahzab,
35:20To Ali,
35:20In Ayşe-i Cemel,
35:22He says you should declare him a saint because he didn't take her as a concubine.
35:25In verse 6 of Surah Al-Ahzab, Allah says,
35:27Doesn't he say,
35:28They are the mothers of the believers.
35:30The Prophet's wives,
35:32He asks, "Would you take your own mother as a concubine?"
35:35How can you... your own mother,
35:37If you don't take concubines after a war,
35:39The one whom God has made a mother,
35:41a woman,
35:42My brothers are asking, "How can Ali take a concubine?"
35:45Thirdly,
35:46The title of Commander of the Faithful belongs to Ali.
35:48because he didn't see it in himself,
35:49How do you pronounce "Allahu Akbar" (God is Greatest)?
35:51"Don't you know?" he said.
35:53At Hudaybiyya,
35:54May peace and blessings be upon Ali and our Prophet.
35:56The leader of the polytheists of Mecca,
35:57Suheir bin Amr arrived,
35:59He started to make a deal,
36:01and in the articles of the agreement,
36:02May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Ali.
36:04He said to Ali,
36:05"Write, Ali,"
36:06these items,
36:07Because it is from Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah,
36:09when the sentence begins,
36:10Suheir objected.
36:12O Muhammad,
36:13We,
36:13If we had known that you were the Messenger of Allah,
36:16We wouldn't fight you.
36:18Therefore,
36:18The expression "the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad"
36:20Didn't he tell you to delete it from there?
36:22May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Ali.
36:24He said to Ali,
36:26Ali said,
36:27When you say delete that part,
36:28Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
36:30O Messenger of Allah,
36:30"I cannot erase your title of Messenger," he said.
36:33Show me that place.
36:34Didn't he say, "Let me delete it"?
36:37Then that place,
36:38Wiping it with his own blessed hands,
36:40"So how should we write it, Süheyl?" he asked.
36:42In Süheyl,
36:43Didn't Muhammad, son of Abdullah, say to write?
36:45Therefore,
36:46May peace and blessings be upon Ali.
36:48He had it written there as Muhammad, son of Abdullah.
36:50Then you,
36:51Ali (may Allah be pleased with him),
36:53The attribute of the Commander of the Faithful,
36:54because he doesn't see it in himself,
36:56If you declare someone an infidel,
36:57The Messenger of Allah also said that day,
36:59from that paper,
37:00He had the title of Messenger removed.
37:02My brothers are saying that we should declare him an infidel as well.
37:05Allahu Akbar.
37:06And these proofs,
37:07whoever sees these documents
37:0824,000 from abroad,
37:1020,000 of them,
37:11Here is Abdullah Ibn Abbas's account,
37:13this that he has demonstrated,
37:14with Islamic jurisprudence,
37:15He is returning and,
37:16Our Master Ali (may Allah be pleased with him),
37:18He joins the ranks.
37:19Listen, my brothers and sisters,
37:20so much so that,
37:20Our mother Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says:
37:22in our time,
37:24I swear, he says.
37:25A scholar like Abdullah Ibn Abbas,
37:27He says there wasn't one more person.
37:29In fact, to the extent that,
37:30Abdullah Ibn Masud,
37:31Our Prophet (peace be upon him) said to him, "radiyallahu anh":
37:33Abdullah says,
37:34"She was much younger than us," he says.
37:35If he were bigger than us, he says,
37:37He says, us,
37:38out and away,
37:39He says that it would be a science that would pass,
37:41My siblings.
37:42Our Prophet (peace be upon him) said to Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding him:
37:45When someone comes and asks Abdullah a question,
37:48Abdullah ibn Abbas had a particular characteristic,
37:51He thinks as if he is looking into the unseen,
37:54He says he'll answer later.
37:55Allahu Akbar,
37:56Today someone told us,
37:58when he asked a question,
37:59we look to the unseen,
38:01What is God's role in this matter?
38:02What is he saying?
38:03What does the prophet say?
38:04rather than saying
38:06We say, "What is the wife in our house?" right?
38:08We say, "What will he say?", right?
38:10Or,
38:11What will society say?
38:11What do customs say?
38:12What will customs say?
38:14We begin to think.
38:15Or in a state administration,
38:17So when a question comes from people,
38:20When asked why this is happening,
38:22What will the European Union say?
38:23People are starting to think, aren't they?
38:25Kremlin's industry,
38:27I wonder what he'll say,
38:27People are starting to think.
38:29Or,
38:29What opinion might come from Washington?
38:31He starts to think about it.
38:33However,
38:33Our master Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him),
38:36My dear brothers and sisters,
38:37Look, here...
38:38looking like this,
38:39What does God say?
38:40What would the Prophet say about this?
38:42He starts to think.
38:43So between two Muslims,
38:45There is a problem,
38:46between a husband and wife, for example,
38:47So, regarding this matter,
38:49It is as if God and His Prophet had not sent down a decree.
38:52What do psychologists say?
38:53What do educators say?
38:54I wonder what family counselors would say.
38:56We go door to door knocking on their doors.
38:57The book of God,
38:59It is as if the Prophet's Sunnah is for us,
39:01As if Muslims weren't enough,
39:02For example, we can behave that way.
39:04Therefore, God,
39:05What can we do about our situation?
39:07Let my brothers fix it.
39:08Or, Imam Efendi,
39:09when he is about to deliver a sermon in the mosque,
39:12It relates to the law of God,
39:14related to the Prophet's law,
39:16when there is a problem,
39:18What is he doing?
39:19He can't read.
39:19From where?
39:20What if an instruction comes from Ankara?
39:22I wonder if they'll demote me.
39:24They're looking over there to see what he'll say, right?
39:26Allahu Akbar.
39:28Look, my brothers and sisters,
39:29Our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
39:31The religion he brought to us,
39:33It's not a religion that we can interpret according to our own understanding.
39:36We're not playing games right now.
39:38Or, when saying "I am a Muslim,"
39:41So shouldn't we reconsider whether I'm really serious?
39:44I say I am a Muslim.
39:45But I live a life according to my own will, according to my own preferences.
39:49So, he's a Muslim man, but a democrat.
39:51the right to act as one wishes, for example
39:53He can find it within himself.
39:55The woman says she is Muslim, but she is a feminist.
39:57the right to act as one wishes
39:59For example, one can find it within oneself.
40:00So, is this what Islam is supposed to be like, my brothers?
40:03Our master Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him),
40:05Here's what we can do according to our own preferences.
40:07that we cannot express an opinion,
40:09When a question related to a topic comes up,
40:12What would God and His Prophet say about this matter?
40:15He shows us through his exemplary life that we need to think.
40:20My dear brothers and sisters,
40:21One day, our master Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said,
40:24Zayd ibn Arqam,
40:27It was his mother's funeral.
40:29He went to her and there,
40:31Not Zayd ibn Arqam,
40:32My brothers, Zayd ibn Thabit,
40:33He went to his mother's funeral.
40:35Then Zayd said something like this,
40:38His camel was swaying,
40:39Abdullah ibn Abbas also said:
40:41Zeyd said, "What will happen?"
40:42"Use me as a ladder," he said.
40:44Step on me,
40:45When he said, "Climb onto the camel's hump like that,"
40:47"What are you doing, Abdullah?" he said.
40:49"How could such a thing happen?" he said.
40:50How can I place my feet around your waist?
40:52"That's my conclusion," he said.
40:54But today, someone...
40:55Some people claim to be Muslim,
40:57by stepping on someone's back
40:59isn't it,
40:59by discrediting them,
41:01They are trying to get somewhere,
41:02isn't it?
41:04a place where Muslims have done something,
41:07The man decided,
41:08by discrediting someone,
41:10He is trying to gain prestige.
41:12isn't it?
41:13Companions,
41:14In other words, by discrediting someone you've passed by,
41:16to gain prestige,
41:18that is, a sibling on one's own back,
41:21not even putting his foot down,
41:22What isn't he/she doing?
41:24He doesn't approve of it.
41:25Or maybe I,
41:26and I put my foot on his back,
41:28My brothers are not saying, "Let me get on my camel,"
41:30They are so precious to each other.
41:32Abdullah said,
41:33When you say that's impossible,
41:34Abdullah Ibn Abbas,
41:35Our Prophet, may Allah be pleased with him,
41:37we are still lacking,
41:38In terms of teaching something, he says,
41:41I swear, he says.
41:42We,
41:43From our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
41:45We have learned to respect scholars, he says.
41:48Allahu Akbar.
41:49As I said a moment ago,
41:51The man reads 3-5 hadiths,
41:52Then he says,
41:53Here is Imam Abu Hanifa's opinion on this matter:
41:55He says he was wrong in his thinking.
41:56Fear God,
41:57Muslim.
41:58Fear God.
41:59You're talking about a scholar.
42:02And peace and blessings be upon him,
42:04He says he taught respect for scholars.
42:05Abdullah ibn Abbas.
42:07So the man starts reciting 3-5 verses,
42:10He says,
42:11Bukhari says that so many hadiths are fabricated.
42:12Fear God,
42:13Muslim.
42:15Fear God.
42:17Now the man is appearing on television and saying,
42:20He says there is a man named Imam Ibn Tawmiyyah,
42:22He's a man who, he says,
42:24This man says,
42:24He was the kind of man who cleaned up the mess behind him while trying to clean up the mess in front of him, they say.
42:27Fear God.
42:29Or what is the man saying?
42:30in big yellow,
42:32with the robe he had put on his back,
42:34in front of the screens,
42:36He was the kind of man that, he says,
42:38His mind says,
42:39My brothers say he was a deviant who had lost his way in scholarship.
42:42Allahu Akbar.
42:43Look, my dear brothers and sisters,
42:44from our scholars,
42:46Hajar al-Asqalani, may Allah have mercy on her, says:
42:48whoever does not have any evidence
42:50without a document
42:52without evidence,
42:53If he harbors animosity towards a scholar,
42:56he says,
42:57He says his blasphemy is to be feared.
42:59And his faith is also doubted, he says.
43:02Because why?
43:03Because scholars are a reflection of God's attribute of knowledge on earth.
43:07When you slander scholars,
43:09when he hates,
43:10In fact, it is a reflection of God's attribute of knowledge on Earth.
43:14You would harbor resentment.
43:16Therefore, when talking about a scholar,
43:19We will protect our language.
43:21Isn't it?
43:21Therefore, scholars say the following:
43:24He says the flesh of scholars is poison.
43:26Look, my brothers, there's a student of Abdullah ibn Abbas named Abu Salih.
43:30He explains, he says,
43:31"One day, the area in front of his house was so crowded," he says.
43:33He told me, he says,
43:34Salih says, Abu Salih.
43:36He says he summoned those who asked about Islamic jurisprudence.
43:37I called them, and they answered.
43:39Then he said, "Call those who ask about Ferahiy."
43:41I answered them.
43:42Then he said, "Call those who will ask questions related to the interpretation."
43:45I invited them too.
43:46He answered all of them.
43:47I swear, he says.
43:48"I was amazed by his knowledge," he says.
43:51And look, Abdullah Ibn Abbas,
43:53Despite possessing so much knowledge,
43:55Do you know what my brothers are saying?
43:57A man who says, "I know the answer to every question,"
44:01He's a man who's lost his mind, they say.
44:03But someone is whispering to us.
44:05A man wrote on his door,
44:07This is where every question is answered.
44:09If a person can answer every question,
44:13According to Abdullah ibn Abbas, this man was insane.
44:16Allahu Akbar,
44:17People came to Imam Shabi (may Allah have mercy on him) one day and asked him a question, and he said:
44:22"I don't know the answer to that question," he said.
44:25Someone there said,
44:26He asked, "What kind of imam are you?"
44:28"What kind of man are you?" he said.
44:30And then you get up on the pulpit and preach to us,
44:32You are under the study of science,
44:34And then he says he doesn't know the answer to this question,
44:36When asked, "Aren't you ashamed?"
44:38Imam Shabi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
44:42"Calm down," said the son.
44:44He told me to calm down.
44:45In verse 32 of Surah Al-Baqarah,
44:48When God asked the angels about the names of things,
44:52Angels, O Lord,
44:54When they say, "We know nothing except what you have taught us,"
44:58They weren't even ashamed to say, "We don't know, O Lord."
45:02"Should I be ashamed when I say 'I don't know'?" he said.
45:05Allahu Akbar,
45:06There is a surah called Surah Al-Kawthar, isn't there?
45:09Today, some Sufis,
45:11A surah that Sufis have incorrectly interpreted.
45:15Perhaps it's a corrupted version.
45:18Khidr (peace be upon him) exists.
45:19Moses (peace be upon him) exists.
45:21Khidr (peace be upon him) is a saint.
45:23Isn't Moses (peace be upon him) one of the prophets?
45:26What is God talking about here?
45:28It doesn't say that a saint is superior to a prophet.
45:32You know how Khidr (peace be upon him) guided Moses (peace be upon him)?
45:35That's not what he's talking about.
45:37What does God talk about in this surah?
45:39He's talking about the saying, "There's always someone more knowledgeable than everyone else," right?
45:43So, the saint Khidr is right,
45:46Moses was a prophet, but sometimes also a saint.
45:49He might be more knowledgeable than even a prophet on some subjects.
45:53God is telling us about this.
45:56But what are we doing?
45:57We sometimes do bad things to our teachers too.
45:59So the professor has no knowledge of hadith.
46:02We're asking the man a question about hadith in front of all those people.
46:05This time the man,
46:06So many people are listening to me,
46:08It would be rude if I didn't answer now,
46:11This time, we might even encourage the man to answer incorrectly.
46:15Therefore, we also need to know who to ask which question.
46:17We need to know each other as the Ummah of Muhammad, my brothers.
46:20We shouldn't ask everyone every question, and when we are asked questions we don't know the answer to,
46:27We shouldn't be ashamed to say "I don't know."
46:30My brothers and sisters are like that,
46:31In the year 611 AH, Abdullah ibn Abbas,
46:36He entered into seclusion just before his death.
46:38A Muslim brother came.
46:41My siblings are so important to me,
46:42He wasn't a teacher detached from society.
46:45In other words, he wasn't the kind of professor you could see without making an appointment a month in advance.
46:51Now, even if you made an appointment a month ago, what can't you do with the guy?
46:54You can't meet.
46:55He wasn't that kind of man.
46:56A poor fellow came along,
46:58Abdullah said,
46:59"I have a problem," he said.
47:01Has anyone ever knocked on your door? I have a problem.
47:03I asked him to help me.
47:05If someone has these kinds of problems and no one is knocking on your door,
47:09You too, my brothers and sisters, are disconnected from people, from society, from the community.
47:15Abdullah said, "Tell me..."
47:16"I owed someone money," he said.
47:18What a kind person.
47:20What a loyal person he is to his debts.
47:22Abdullah said,
47:24My debt is due soon.
47:25I couldn't even manage my debt.
47:27"I don't know what to do," he said.
47:29Meanwhile, Abdullah ibn Abbas has also entered into seclusion for Ramadan.
47:32This incident occurred during my i'tikaf (spiritual retreat) in the last 10 days.
47:35He said,
47:36Do you want me to go with that debtor?
47:37Let me talk to the person who owes the money.
47:39He said he wanted to extend the loan repayment period a little bit.
47:41So, if he had the money in his pocket, he might pay off his debt.
47:45I mean, I passed by,
47:46having money in his pocket to pay his debt,
47:48Even when we say we owe someone money, the guy doesn't want to hear it, sir.
47:53Why?
47:54I thought, "Is he going to ask me for money or something now?"
47:56Oh, professor, we're saying things like "let's not meet up," aren't we?
47:58Or, you could immediately change the subject,
47:59We can change the subject and close the topic, right?
48:02Well, even if you can't do anything else, you can pray.
48:06May God help you pay off your debt.
48:09Shall I speak for you?
48:11But he said, now you go there for me and talk to him,
48:13You're going to extend the due date of my debt.
48:15But you will also have deviated from faith.
48:17Will you not also be deprived of the reward for your faith?
48:20When you say Abdullah,
48:21By God, I heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that...
48:24Whoever fulfills the needs of a Muslim,
48:27God will grant him the reward of ten acts of seclusion in the mosque, he said.
48:31Allahu Akbar.
48:34And my brothers, who have gone and left the community to postpone that man's debt to a later date.
48:39My brothers and sisters are like that,
48:40As you all know, in the year 61 AH,
48:43The Keribala incident happens.
48:46Abdullah ibn Abbas was also one of the people who advised Imam Hussein not to go to Karbala.
48:50"Don't go, my Hüseyin," she said.
48:52These baskets, he said, these baskets...
48:55These people lie, yet they are capable of brotherhood.
48:57They build strength and recite the Quran well.
48:59But if it affects their interests,
49:03you in the name of the woman,
49:05in the name of money,
49:06These people will sell you out in the name of their position.
49:09There are men like that, you know, right?
49:12There are men who are changed by money.
49:14There are men that women have changed, my brothers.
49:17Changed by fame and glory,
49:19There are men who have been changed by fear.
49:22Kufeller said, "They're men like that, don't go, Hussein."
49:25They're going to leave you alone, he said.
49:28And my brothers, Hazrat Hussein is not listening to him.
49:31He goes and becomes a martyr in Keribala.
49:33And my dear brothers and sisters,
49:35How can a person, a sibling, be the cause of something like this?
49:38After they martyred him,
49:41because of her sadness,
49:43My siblings have gone blind from crying.
49:45Allahu Akbar,
49:47How much she loved Hüseyin,
49:49What kind of brotherhood did he feel towards her?
49:51And so much so that,
49:53When the year 68 AH arrived,
49:56A doctor came to fix his eyes.
49:59And my brothers,
50:01The doctor said,
50:03"Hey Abdullah," he said.
50:04if he said their prayers,
50:06He does it with a hint of sarcasm,
50:07He said standing up,
50:08If you don't pray, he said,
50:10He said he would heal their eyes.
50:11"God willing," he said.
50:13Abdullah ibn Abbas is living his last days.
50:16And he says,
50:17I swear, he says.
50:18rather than performing prayers by gesturing,
50:22performing the prayer standing up,
50:24"I wish to meet my Lord as a blind person," he said.
50:27Performing the prayer by gesturing,
50:29Rather than having my eyes opened,
50:32I will perform my uprising standing up,
50:33living blind,
50:35"This is how I wish to meet God," he said.
50:38Allahu Akbar.
50:39And my brothers,
50:40a week later in Taif,
50:42He passed away after this incident.
50:43after this event.
50:45So, he,
50:46normally their eyes could open,
50:48While Islam has given him permission for that,
50:50without even using this license
50:52Look,
50:53He had a desire to meet God on the Day of Judgment.
50:55But we,
50:56When Ramadan fasting arrives,
50:58frantically,
50:59Who will fast for 17 hours?
51:01That's why I have migraines,
51:03making up a lot of excuses,
51:04isn't it?
51:05We are trying to avoid fasting.
51:07Or, perhaps,
51:08mine too,
51:10This happened,
51:11This happened,
51:11This is what happened,
51:12Because I got this pain,
51:14on foot,
51:14rather than performing prayers while standing,
51:16We brought chairs into the mosques,
51:18We deployed battalions,
51:19there,
51:20We are looking for permissions to perform prayer.
51:22Isn't that right, my brothers and sisters?
51:23For the Companions,
51:24rather than being someone who seeks a license,
51:27They were people who tried to choose grandeur.
51:30God willing,
51:31to us too,
51:32like their example,
51:34May God grant us the grace to be exemplary believers.
51:36May God grant wisdom to our minds.
51:38discernment in our eyes,
51:40May it fill our hearts with love.
51:42All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.
