00:18Thank you for watching.
00:30Today, God willing, we will try to turn the pages of the life story of one of them, Zayd ibn Harithah, may Allah be pleased with him.
00:37My brothers, the master we mentioned, Zayd ibn Harithah (may Allah be pleased with him), was called by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), "He is my beloved."
00:46someone who is like that.
00:48You know how we say to someone, "This person is my friend"?
00:51You know how we say about someone, "This person is my friend"?
00:54But in life, more than the people we interact with, the people we call friends, the people we call companions, perhaps there are those we have never called friends at all.
01:03There is a word.
01:04What is that?
01:05My love.
01:06Have you ever said to someone, "This is my girlfriend/boyfriend," my brothers and sisters?
01:10Especially if you were to use a sentence or a word like that, at first you might think, "Oh, my wife at home might get a little jealous," just a little bit.
01:18You might not even want to say that word, for fear of upsetting them.
01:22But our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed someone as "my beloved," even if that person was just his wife at home.
01:29So what's the secret?
01:31This is the secret, my brothers: Zayd ibn Harithah (may Allah be pleased with him) stood firm in the religious cause of our master, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and supported his cause.
01:42It is caused by stretching.
01:43My brothers, Zayd ibn Harithah, may Allah be pleased with him, was born in 581 AD in a place known as Kelp in Yemen.
01:53He was born into his tribe.
01:55Her mother was reportedly Sude bint Salebe, and her father was reportedly Haris bin Shurahbil.
02:03So much so that my brothers Zayd ibn Haritha went to visit the Tay tribe, which was his mother's tribe, from the Kelp tribe, and they met the enemy of the Tay tribe.
02:13A tribe came, attacked that tribe, then captured Zayd and his mother, making them slaves.
02:20Then my brothers brought Zayd ibn Haritha to the market in Mecca known as Ukaz, and there, according to one narration, Khadija (may Allah be pleased with her)
02:29Hakim bin Hizam, who was our mother Khadija's nephew, took him as a captive and a slave from there, and gifted him to our mother Khadija.
02:38Our mother also gifted it to our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
02:42Unless it is another narration, my brothers, this slave from the Kelp tribe, namely Zayd ibn Haritha, warned our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about Ukaz.
02:52He saw him at the fair, liked him very much, and said to his wealthy and exceptional wife, Khadija, "Khadija, give this slave Zayd to me."
03:01He asked her if she would buy it and give it to him as a gift.
03:06Our mother Khadija (may Allah be pleased with her) received it and gifted it to our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
03:12Brothers and sisters, I want to get into a subtle detail here.
03:15Sometimes things happen to us that we can only describe as bad, sometimes we might fall down on the road, sometimes our mental state deteriorates, sometimes we too...
03:26Someone might sell them as slaves,
03:28They may abandon us halfway, or we may encounter difficulties as we progress in our cause, but we need to know that sometimes what we might call bad,
03:40Sometimes, even in events that we might describe as difficult or that we think have damaged our mental health, we never know what good God may bring us, my brothers and sisters.
03:50Look, the story of Zayd ibn Haritha being sold as a slave, abandoned by his mother and father, brought to a place and sold as a captive, is as follows:
04:00When you look at it, isn't it a bad thing?
04:03It's a very sad event, but then other events follow that sad event...
04:08Zayd ibn Haritha became such a precious person that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called him "my beloved."
04:18My siblings.
04:19That's true, sometimes you face difficulties, you experience hardships, but when you persevere through those difficulties, when you continue on your path, when you don't waver, perhaps without you even realizing it, God...
04:33You must have become the beloved of the Prophet,
04:35Perhaps, without your knowledge, your rank among God's angels has been elevated, my brothers.
04:41So when we encounter a difficulty, when we face a hardship, what should we do immediately?
04:46Instead of wondering where this terrible event came from, I should wonder what good things God will bring me after this hardship.
04:54adjusting,
04:55What should we do to know what beautiful gardens and what wonderful blessings He will bestow upon us?
05:01My dear brothers and sisters, we need to think.
05:03Look, didn't Joseph's brothers throw him into a well?
05:08Didn't those he called his comrades betray him?
05:11Didn't they form an opinion about him?
05:13Didn't they lie about him?
05:16Did they not bring him and throw him into the blind wells?
05:18At their most difficult moment, at their weakest moment, at their most vulnerable moment,
05:24So, when he was a very young child, when he needed help,
05:27So instead of helping him, his older brothers there took him away,
05:32They threw him into the well, but he did not rebel against his Lord, saying, "Why did you not intervene when they threw me into the well, O Lord?"
05:40because he said, "I entrust my sorrow and grief to Allah, the Lord of the worlds."
05:45My brothers, the Rabbi took him, pulled him out of the well, and made him the sultan of Egypt.
05:50Everyone said to Moses (peace be upon him), "O Moses, an army as vast as the Nile River is coming behind me!"
05:56Where are you going?
05:58"Who will rescue you from these men?" they asked.
06:01Moses paid no attention to what they said.
06:03Oh no, they're going to catch me now.
06:05Because he didn't say, "Oh no, where did this misfortune come from?"
06:08Along with the Muses who were with them, they struck the Nile and the Red Sea with their staffs.
06:15And did not the Rabbi help them, and did He not part the great Red Sea for them like a mountain, like a path, my brothers?
06:23So aren't these the beautiful examples that our Lord has also told us about in His book?
06:28We need to know that alongside the difficulties, there is also ease.
06:33Has someone abandoned you, or has someone put you in a difficult situation?
06:37Know, my brothers and sisters, that God will grant you better friends and companions than those who abandoned you, God willing.
06:44Look, Joseph's brothers abandoned him. Did Allah not give him better brothers in return?
06:50The polytheists of Mecca abandoned their own brother, Muhammad (peace be upon him).
06:55Did Allah not give Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) even better brothers as Ansar in Medina, my brothers?
07:03So much so that my dear brothers were sold as slaves to Zayd ibn Harith,
07:07Following this event, something happened that God did not grant to Abu Bakr, nor to Umar.
07:15He even bestowed upon Zayd ibn Harith a task that He did not bestow upon any of the other 124,000 prophets, except for 28.
07:24And in his book, my brothers, he mentioned the name of our master Zayd in verse 37 of Surah Al-Ahzab in the Holy Quran.
07:33Look, is the name of Abu Bakr mentioned in the Quran? No, it's not.
07:37Are the names of the people who were among the ten promised paradise (as-i mubashshara) mentioned by our Prophet Omar? No, they are not.
07:41But my brothers and sisters, our Lord has mentioned the name of our Prophet Zayd ibn Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) in the Quran, in verse 37 of Surah Al-Ahzab.
07:49That alone would be more than enough honor for him, wouldn't it?
07:53Look, my dear brothers, when Zayd ibn Harith sold him in Mecca, his father Harith was so upset that...
08:01She was so sad about being separated from her child that she wrote many poems for him.
08:07And my brothers and sisters, there is a truth that we all know, isn't there?
08:10They say a child whose father has died is an orphan, and a child whose mother has died is a motherless child, but they don't know what to say about someone who has lost a child, so they haven't been able to find a word for it.
08:20Why? Because of his pain.
08:22The pain of losing a child is such an intense pain that there are no words to describe it; that's the kind of pain this man suffered.
08:28Haris is the Haris who is Zayd's father.
08:31He wrote such poems, and a man from the Kelp tribe went to Mecca to shop, to do business.
08:39When he saw Zayd there, he said, "Aren't you Zayd, the son of Harith?"
08:45"Yes," he said, "I am Zayd, the son of Harith."
08:49Your father said that he composed such laments, wrote such lyrics, and penned such poems of separation about you.
08:56He missed you so much that he searched everywhere.
08:59When he said, "O Zayd," Zayd replied, "Look, what should the statement of a slave be?"
09:05It was supposed to be, "Please tell my father to pay my ransom and save me from this Muhammad," wasn't it?
09:11Someone who is actually a slave.
09:12Instead of saying, "Please, let him pay me and take me back to my homeland, my native land,"
09:18Zayd said, "Go, man, and tell my father Harith not to worry at all, for I am with such a man."
09:26that,
09:27He said that even being a slave in his presence is far more honorable than being free.
09:32"Allahu Akbar! To be a slave in His presence is more honorable than to be free," he said.
09:38So my siblings told me, "Father shouldn't worry, I'm fine, I'm at peace."
09:44Well, my dear brothers, isn't this a conversation between a slave and his master?
09:50It was a comment a slave made about his master.
09:54We may be able to say that the institution of slavery no longer exists in modern times, but...
09:59Don't be fooled, my brothers and sisters, aren't we all modern slaves in the gears of the capitalist system?
10:05In this day and age, what would happen if we listened to the comments of workers about their employers who employ them at the poverty line?
10:13I wonder if they'll say, "Did he pay us our full salary for doing our job, and give us two bonuses during both holidays?"
10:20Or are they usurping our rights by making us travel to and from the factory by shuttle bus for years?
10:26He comes and goes in the Porsche he last drove, while we've been renting for years, but he seems to be feeding off us.
10:34They live in villas and castles within the system that has sucked us dry, a capitalist boss—I can't even call him that—they do that, right?
10:41Allahu Akbar, here is even the comment of the Prophet Muhammad's slave about himself,
10:47One of the greatest proofs of the prophethood and prophethood of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), my dear brothers and sisters, is this.
10:55Look, my brothers, Zayd has come here, taking his brother Haritha with him. Where is he?
11:02They went to ask for Zayd ibn Haritha's hand in marriage from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
11:05So, he has a brother named Harith, the father of Zayd ibn Haritha, and they came to Mecca together.
11:12They went to our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said:
11:17"O Muhammad," said Harith, the father of Zayd, "you are a just man, you are a man of character."
11:25"You are a man who does not oppress anyone," he said, "because you are such a man,"
11:31"Please," she said, "give me back my son, my Zayd."
11:35He said these things with the yearning, heartfelt emotions of a father who had been separated from his child, his son, and who had found him years later.
11:45He said to our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him):
11:48"Hey Haris," he said, "I am not one to sell people."
11:53"I'm not someone who puts a price on people," he said.
11:56Because God values people, those who have value have no price, my brothers and sisters.
12:03Things that have a price also have no value.
12:05Therefore, I'm not the kind of man who puts a price on people.
12:08So I would never betray people, he said.
12:12Let's call Zayd; if Zayd wants you, he can return to Yemen with you.
12:19I will set him free of charge, he said.
12:23Allahu Akbar.
12:23And my brothers, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called Zayd ibn Haritha.
12:30Zayd comes and says, "Oh my father..."
12:34By God, he says, I would rather be a slave in the presence of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) than be free in your presence, my brothers.
12:44So, he is not separating from our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and going with his father to his homeland, the land of Yemen, which his mother had found.
12:52Allahu Akbar.
12:53What kind of faith is this, what kind of love is this?
12:57Just imagine, choosing our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him),
13:02There was a kind of love in Zayd ibn Haritha that made him disdainful of his father.
13:06And these things happened even before the prophecy came.
13:09So, my dear brothers and sisters, today, those who love our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)...
13:14If a similar question were asked about us believers who aspire to be modern versions of Zayd,
13:20So your father is encouraging you to take interest, but Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) forbade interest.
13:26When you ask which one you prefer,
13:29Even if my father is sad, even if my father is hurt, even if my father curses and insults me,
13:33The day we say, "I prefer Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him),"
13:38We have become the Zayd ibn Harithahs of the modern age.
13:42The person who will be our spouse when we get married, our prospective spouse,
13:45When he said, "I'm going to have a wedding with music and dancing, without regard for separate sections for men and women,"
13:51No, my prophet does not permit such a wedding,"
13:56not his wife, not the person who will be his wife,
13:58A believer who chooses the commandments brought by our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him),
14:04That's when he became the Zayd ibn Haritha of the modern age, my brothers.
14:09Or perhaps people,
14:11Professor, in this day and age, the form of government for people must be democracy.
14:15The way people govern themselves in this era,
14:17It has to be with secularism and Kemalism.
14:20Therefore, when they say that democracy is the best form of government in this era,
14:24No, no, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) showed us the best form of government.
14:30He brought Islam, he brought Sharia law.
14:32Saying, "What do I care about democracy, what do I care about secularism?"
14:36The day we choose Sharia, the day we choose Islam,
14:39That's how we become the Zayd ibn Harithahs of the modern age, my brothers.
14:44Or when someone is oppressing a Muslim,
14:47When someone is inflicting torment on a Muslim,
14:50That Muslim is my relative, that Muslim is my friend,
14:55He said, "That Muslim is a family friend,"
14:57rather than taking his side,
15:01When you stand by the side of the oppressed,
15:04Here you are, in this era, of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
15:08You've become the modern-day Zayd ibn Haritha.
15:11Listen, my brothers, when Zayd ibn Haritha said that...
15:14The father says, "Shame on you, Zeyd!"
15:18Shame on you, are you now choosing Muhammad over me?
15:24You are now talking not about the tribe you were born and raised in in Yemen, but...
15:29When he asked me, "Do you prefer the Hashim tribe?"
15:33Zayd ibn Haritha answered without hesitation,
15:36Yes, he says, I prefer our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
15:40Therefore, my brothers and sisters, choosing our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) means...
15:46from mother, father, spouse, lover, money, position, rank,
15:50Sometimes it means giving up on everything.
15:53The companions of the Prophet that we have mentioned,
15:56He gave the least amount of life for Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
16:01Many more had even sacrificed their children for the cause.
16:06Therefore, my dear brothers, let us give our lives.
16:10If we still have problems related to performing prayers,
16:13If we have more problems related to lying,
16:16If we have problems related to being more honorable,
16:20Never mind giving our lives, what would we give in the name of this religion?
16:24How are we going to deal with Zayd ibn Haritha, right?
16:26Allahu Akbar!
16:27So, what did Zayd ibn Haritha do when he said this?
16:31He returned from Mecca directly to Yemen,
16:35empty-handed.
16:36Allahu Akbar!
16:37What kind of love is this, what kind of affection is this?
16:40O Messenger of Allah, how did you instill such love in his heart?
16:45A person chooses you over their father.
16:49So why do we talk about our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) today?
16:54We can't just stand still and choose him, my brothers, can we?
16:57Because we did not see what Zayd saw.
17:00We did not believe in him as Zayd believed.
17:03Because our faith is only superficial, we unfortunately have serious problems with choosing it.
17:11The main reason for this is that my dear siblings and I don't know him.
17:14We don't know them, we don't know them.
17:17They teach us about other heroes, they teach us about great leaders,
17:22They teach about other people's lives.
17:24But we don't know our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) because we haven't learned about him, and because he hasn't been taught about us.
17:31Because we don't know them, what can't we do, like Zeyd?
17:33We can't love, my brothers and sisters.
17:35Then, God willing, we will make an effort to get to know him.
17:40Look, my dear brothers and sisters, there are so many lessons to be learned from this incident.
17:45Let our first lesson be this.
17:47When he arrived, what did Haris say?
17:48He said, "O Muhammad," he said, "you are of a noble character."
17:54So you're a decent guy, he said.
17:56What were people saying about our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) before he received prophethood?
18:01"This man," they say, "is a man who doesn't lie."
18:04They say this man is someone who doesn't betray people, he's an honorable man, right?
18:08Therefore, my brothers and sisters, this is the essence of this religion.
18:11If you are not a man of good character, if you are a liar, if you are a man who cheats and swindles in your business,
18:20You can't explain this religion.
18:22If you are a man who betrays people, if you are a man who informs on people, if you are a man who gossips and slanders Muslims behind their backs, then you...
18:31If you are a man who is envious of Muslims, you cannot teach this religion.
18:36From where?
18:36Because what did our Lord say in verse 4 of Surah Al-Qalam?
18:40Even before the command to pray, the command to perform Hajj, and the command to fast came to our Prophet, he said, "O my Prophet, you possess an exceptional character."
18:48he said.
18:49So he said, you have a good nature, you get along well with people.
18:53Imagine, my brothers, if he climbed to the top of Mount Abu Qubays and said, "O people of Mecca, what if I told you that an army is coming from behind that mountain?"
19:00your lesson?
19:01"We believe in you, O Muhammad," they said, didn't they?
19:04We believe you, what does that mean?
19:06Do you know what this means, my brothers?
19:08O people of Mecca, how do you know my character?
19:11Have you ever seen me lie?
19:14Have you ever seen me swindle one of you?
19:17You didn't see it, did you?
19:18Then, if you know me like this, my brothers said, "Say 'La ilahe illallah' (There is no god but Allah) and be saved."
19:24So, before I can explain the cause of "La ilahe illallah" (There is no god but Allah), people need to know that I am a trustworthy man.
19:32People need to know that I am an honest man.
19:36People should be able to entrust their money, their children, and their spouses to me so that I can explain the cause of "La ilahe illallah" (There is no god but Allah) to them.
19:45So, this is the kind of person our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was, in the eyes of Zayd's father.
19:51Secondly, my brothers and sisters, look, our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was such a compassionate preacher that he was compassionate even before he acquired knowledge.
20:01Allahu Akbar! If my brothers had not been merciful, would Zayd have stayed with him?
20:08Zayd had come to him before the revelation came, and he had no knowledge of it yet.
20:13For our Lord says in Surah Al-Araf, "O my Prophet, you did not know what faith was, nor what the Book was."
20:19Allahu Akbar, but even before our Prophet acquired knowledge, before he knew what faith was, before he knew what the scriptures were, he was a compassionate person.
20:27Therefore, the greatest theremmi on her lips was a merciful theremmi.
20:33So, when he explained God's religion to people, he did so with compassion, not with hatred or anger—yes, there were times when he was angry—but generally he did so with mercy.
20:43Really?
20:44We have a scholar named Hasan Basri, may Allah have mercy on him.
20:47Someone came and condemned the game so vehemently, so vehemently, that he said, "Calm down, calm down."
20:54When God sent Moses, who was better than you, to Pharaoh, who was worse than me,
21:01Didn't God say to Moses, "Speak sweetly to Pharaoh"?
21:05Allahu Akbar, so my brothers, we also need to know this.
21:10In other words, information and knowledge alone are not sufficient reasons to guide people to the right path.
21:15It is just one factor, the biggest factor, in bringing people to God's religion,
21:19It all comes through a compassionate approach, compassionate love, and compassionate prayer, my brothers and sisters.
21:25Know that you cannot explain Islam to people to whom you have not spoken with compassion.
21:30Compassionately, take the hand of someone who doesn't pray,
21:34Unless you invite him to pray, that man will not start praying, my brothers.
21:39Someone asked, "Teacher, what is the ruling on someone who doesn't pray?"
21:44Instead of saying that someone who doesn't pray is an infidel or an idolater, he said it's better to take your brother by the hand and lead him to the mosque.
21:52Therefore, may Allah grant us also a share of the mercy of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
21:58The third lesson we will learn is, as some people are saying today,
22:01So, slavery existed in Islam, and wasn't Zayd ibn Harith a slave of Muhammad (peace be upon him)?
22:05Yes, slavery existed, but Islam unfortunately inherited this slavery as a problem stemming from the Middle Ages, and it had to deal with it from afar.
22:14He couldn't lift it at first.
22:15But consider, my brothers, what kind of slavery is this, where slaves become so devoted to their masters that they would never leave them to go to their fathers?
22:26He has arrived.
22:27Not out of fear, not out of coercion, not out of imitation, not out of blackmail,
22:34Out of love and compassion, my brothers and sisters.
22:37Or why wouldn't a slave go when his father comes to get him?
22:41This is due to the compassion of our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
22:44Even our slaves, even those who have become our slaves, will not leave us.
22:50They've become so attached to us that they won't even go back to their fathers.
22:54What is the reason for this?
22:55The responsibilities that Islam has placed upon us.
22:57But these modernists, these Europeans, who say that slavery exists in Islam today, don't they look at themselves first, do they?
23:05The Swiss king had the hands of perhaps thousands of children, as young as eight, cut off because they claimed that a certain African country didn't harvest enough rubber.
23:14But this wasn't seen as slavery, for example.
23:16Or, my brothers and sisters, similarly, in Africa, these Europeans cut off the arms of perhaps thousands of children because they gathered too little corn while harvesting corn.
23:26Nobody called this slavery.
23:28America bombed Vietnam, right?
23:31Or perhaps they bombed other countries.
23:33They dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima.
23:35He tried to enslave the people here.
23:38But nobody called that slavery, did they?
23:41Therefore, the West has nothing to say to us about slavery.
23:45So, what is the reason behind the greatest power of the Westerners on Earth right now, my brothers?
23:50Isn't it about enslaving African countries?
23:53Isn't it about seizing their gold?
23:55Therefore, these Westerners, who have completely turned the world into a slave paradise, dare to also criticize the religion brought by our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)...
24:04Their talking about slavery and resorting to low blows is simply a manifestation of their malicious intentions, my brothers.
24:12Look, my brothers, here's another piece of support we'll bring out. What does our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say?
24:18"I don't sell people, I don't engage in slave trade," he says.
24:24Allahu Akbar.
24:25And Zayd says, "I will not separate myself from Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)."
24:31What does this mean, my brothers?
24:32Zayd says, "Rather than having the freedom of being with my father, let me be a slave with our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)."
24:42So, my brothers, remember how the women invited Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) to commit adultery, and Zuleikha said, "If you don't commit adultery with me, I will have you imprisoned"?
24:55What did Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) say?
24:57"Oh Lord," he said.
24:59He called it prison life.
25:00Did my brothers not say, "This is better for me than the adultery they have invited me to"?
25:05Here, Zayd ibn Haritha is just as Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) said.
25:10Oh father, the freedom you have invited me to is truly better than this.
25:16He replied by saying that he wanted to remain with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and be a slave.
25:22Then, my brothers, instead of becoming slaves to everything in order to attain the paradise of this world, I say, let us come and attain the paradise of the hereafter tomorrow.
25:33To enter God's paradise, let us strive to be God's servants, God's slaves.
25:38I would rather reach a certain position and enter that political arena and lose God's favor than attain a high rank and lose God's favor by doing so.
25:50I will become a shepherd tending sheep in the mountains and earn God's favor.
25:54I would rather lose the paradise of this world than gain the paradise of the hereafter by winning this world.
26:01Shouldn't we be saying, "In the hereafter, my Lord will grant me a great paradise"?
26:05That is why my dear brothers, Zayd ibn Haritha also chose our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
26:13May God incline towards those who choose the Prophet.
26:17Has something happened? Is there an issue?
26:20Let's say, "Come on, let's go to the prophet."
26:22Let's go and read the book of God, let's say.
26:24If, when we arrive, the person we've positioned as the referee says, "You're wrong about this, apologize to your brother," then let's apologize, my brothers.
26:35Let's apologize.
26:36Rather than being proud in this world, if I apologize for the wrong I have done in this world, then I am the one who chose the side of Muhammad (peace be upon him) in this era.
26:47I might have become a Zaydi.
26:49Look, my dear brothers and sisters, what did our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say to Harith?
26:54He said, "Take him," he said, "take Zeydi away."
26:56"I don't sell people," he said.
26:57Allahu Akbar.
26:59Just think, would a Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), who never sold people for money, ever sell brotherhood?
27:08Would he sell out his family?
27:09So, he's saying he's not forming a relationship based on self-interest, right?
27:14If you build a relationship with someone based on self-interest, know that one day they will betray you, but if you build a relationship based on compassion, they will never betray you.
27:23They won't sell it.
27:25Compassionate people are those who do not betray others.
27:28But if a man has a vested interest somewhere, know that if you don't give him that interest, if you don't give him what he wants, then know that...
27:37You'll be the first person they sell to.
27:39Therefore, my brothers and sisters, let's try to analyze the people we get to know and understand in our lives very well.
27:46Is he doing this out of compassion?
27:48Is he doing it for his own benefit?
27:50While I'm doing you a favor, approaching you, smiling at you, hugging you, I don't want to take money from you tomorrow.
28:01Is she hugging him for that reason?
28:02Is he doing this to ask you for something tomorrow?
28:04We need to analyze this properly, don't we?
28:06For him, it's based on self-interest, whether it's "he's a member of my association," "he's a member of my community," or "he's a disciple of my teacher."
28:15Stay away from people who form relationships, my brothers and sisters.
28:19My dear brothers and sisters, try to engage in conversation and friendship with people who call to God and the Prophet, and who glorify the message of God and the Prophet.
28:29Look, that's why our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, established a relationship with Zayd ibn Harithah based on compassion, not self-interest.
28:37And yet, what hasn't he done to her? He hasn't abandoned her.
28:39My brothers and sisters, let's take another example, Professor Ercan, everyone knows that some people are good people.
28:45So everyone says, "That guy is a good guy."
28:48But my brothers and sisters, do you know what's important here?
28:50It's not about one person saying to another, "This person is a good person."
28:55Everyone's already saying this.
28:57Abu Jahl also says that Muhammad (peace be upon him) was a good person.
29:00Even Abu Lahab said that Muhammad (peace be upon him) was a good person.
29:02But what is the important thing here?
29:05Zayd ibn Harithah tells us what is important.
29:08It's more important to appreciate someone's worth than just saying they are a good person, my brothers and sisters.
29:15Abu Jahl called Muhammad (peace be upon him) a good person, but he didn't appreciate his worth.
29:19Abu Lahab said that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is an honest man.
29:22He said, "He's my nephew," but he didn't appreciate him.
29:25But Zayd ibn Haritha was both a good person and what did he do, my brothers?
29:31He appreciated it.
29:32So, my brothers and sisters, what does it mean to appreciate the value of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)?
29:38It means submitting to him.
29:39To follow the book he brought, to adhere to the religion he brought, and to engage in a struggle and effort to spread his religion.
29:50So, my brothers and sisters.
29:51That is why Zayd ibn Haritha became her beloved.
29:55Therefore, because he knew the value of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called him "my beloved."
30:03Then let's be people who appreciate things.
30:07For example, let's appreciate our spouses, my brothers and sisters.
30:09So let's try to make her laugh before we make her cry.
30:14Let's appreciate our children, for example.
30:16When the child comes home from work in the evening and says, "Daddy, let's play a little," the child just lies there, staring at their phone screen, and then the child starts crying.
30:25A father who says, "Okay, come on, my child, let's play," when the game starts, is not a father who appreciates his children, my brothers and sisters.
30:32Appreciation means making a child laugh before they cry, my brothers and sisters.
30:37My brothers and sisters, appreciating someone means more than just crying after they die; it means standing firmly by their side and embracing them tightly while they are alive.
30:48But we don't do that, do we, Professor Zubeyir?
30:51When someone dies, we sing laments and compose elegies in their memory.
30:56We're distributing halva (a type of sweet) after he's gone, saying what a good man he was.
30:59But while he was alive, the man was utterly alone.
31:02Subhanallah, therefore, appreciating someone doesn't mean composing elegies for them, but rather supporting them and protecting them, my brothers and sisters.
31:11This is how Zayd ibn Haritha protected and supported our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
31:16Therefore, look, my brothers and sisters, we have unfortunately become a society that is corrupting its values.
31:23We are the same as Muslims.
31:24We have become people who sell our values for very cheap things.
31:29We have become an unappreciative society.
31:32Why my siblings?
31:33Because we don't appreciate the blessings we have.
31:37As the poet said,
31:39those fish that are in the sea,
31:43They did not know the sea.
31:44What does this mean, my brothers?
31:46You know how fish are in the sea, but...
31:49He doesn't appreciate the value of the sea.
31:51When will he/she appreciate the value of the sea?
31:53He realizes its value when he comes out of the sea.
31:56It only becomes aware of its value when it is thirsty.
31:58Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters,
32:00Before God takes a blessing away from us, we need to know its value and worth.
32:07Did God give you a friend?
32:08He who calls you to God,
32:11He who calls you to the Prophet,
32:12He who invites you to righteous deeds,
32:14Did He give you a friend to make your path to paradise easier?
32:17Then appreciate it, my brothers and sisters.
32:20And whatever you do, don't treat your friends like loose change.
32:25Because of your ego,
32:26Never spend money out of whim.
32:29From where?
32:30If you do not appreciate it, my brothers,
32:33Do you know what happens then?
32:36Then one day God will send you someone who doesn't appreciate you.
32:40And those who don't appreciate you will be the ones to ruin you.
32:43Therefore, we should appreciate the value of people who deserve to be valued.
32:47We need to realize that we need to appreciate things before those who don't appreciate them waste them.
32:55My brothers and sisters, and if someone is always expecting something from you,
32:59If you're always the one closing it,
33:01If you are always the one covering it because you value it,
33:04The man makes a mistake and you cover it up.
33:06If you are covering up two mistakes,
33:08Don't cover yourselves, my brothers and sisters.
33:09Because this love has unfortunately turned into self-interest.
33:14And it has simply turned into a matter of appreciation, where you recognize its value and he/she is in a position to receive it.
33:20And it's emerging as something outside of that issue.
33:24Therefore, even though you value it,
33:27If someone doesn't appreciate the value of what you've given,
33:30My brothers, don't waste your time on those who don't appreciate you.
33:34Leave them to their own devices, my brothers.
33:38Sometimes that's true.
33:40Sometimes that's true.
33:41Those who don't appreciate things should be left alone with those who also don't appreciate them.
33:45Because why?
33:46Birds of the same species need to fly together.
33:49My brothers and sisters, the people you are dealing with around you,
33:52Look at 10 people, look at 20 people,
33:54You are the average of them.
33:56And my dear brothers and sisters,
33:58those who don't appreciate your worth
34:00and people who don't value you
34:03Don't fill your heart like a warehouse.
34:06When the time is right,
34:08those who deserve appreciation when the time comes,
34:12To distinguish those who don't deserve it.
34:15Let's try to make an effort.
34:17Look, my dear brothers and sisters,
34:19Our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to Zayd:
34:21When she said no to her father,
34:23The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) brought it to the front of the Kaaba.
34:25He said,
34:26O people of Mecca, he said,
34:28Know that from now on,
34:30after this,
34:31Zayd is my son, he said.
34:33Allahu Akbar.
34:34And I am the heir of Zayd,
34:37What did Zayd say?
34:38He said, "He is my heir."
34:39When I die,
34:41Because Zayd will also benefit from my inheritance,
34:44Our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, called him
34:46What have my brothers done?
34:48He declared himself his son.
34:50And from that day on, people...
34:52Rather than simply calling Zayd Zayd ibn Haritha,
34:55He started by saying, "Zayd ibn Muhammad..."
34:58Allahu Akbar.
34:58Shouldn't humanity be sacrificed for this slavery?
35:01I wish Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) had taken us with him.
35:05Isn't it better to be known by our father's name?
35:08If only our names could be placed alongside his.
35:11And my brothers,
35:12So much so that our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) later took him in order to increase his honor,
35:19What did he do with Umm Ayman, whom he loved the most after his own mother and whom he called his mother?
35:24He married him to Umm Ayman.
35:26So, in a way, our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) increased the honor of Zayd ibn Haritha.
35:31So, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) captured a slave,
35:34He married her off to a very valuable, free woman.
35:37Which slave today could be married to a free woman?
35:41A man working for minimum wage,
35:44So, would a man with trillions of dollars marry a girl, my brothers?
35:48They wouldn't hire him just because he's penniless, because he's poor, right?
35:50This has even been reflected in Turkish films.
35:53A rich girl, right?
35:55Because of their love story, these two poor boys will never be together.
35:58But the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him),
36:00Look what he did!
36:01A person who can be called a slave,
36:03He enhanced his honor by marrying him to a free and independent woman.
36:07Allahu Akbar.
36:08What a wonderful thing!
36:09So how can a person's honor be enhanced?
36:12It shows that she is valued in that environment, right?
36:15So sometimes I say to those professors who refuse to leave this podium,
36:18Even if you leave this podium,
36:20If you came and sat down here,
36:22a teacher who has passed through your tutelage
36:25or even if a student comes,
36:27an environment where people are, including you
36:29Wouldn't it be wonderful if he preached?
36:32But we don't want to give up these platforms.
36:34So we are not trying to enhance our student's reputation.
36:37So our spouse is doing us a favor,
36:40We look at the hundred good deeds our spouse has done,
36:43We are seeing one of his wrongdoings.
36:44So, in that situation, we saw my wife doing a good deed.
36:47rather than to enhance his reputation,
36:50by bringing up a mistake my mother made in front of my father
36:54I'm diminishing his honor, aren't I, my brothers?
36:56But then what do I say?
36:58I say I am a follower of the Prophet, right?
37:00Allahu Akbar.
37:02For example, at a visit we've made to someone's house with our child
37:04Are we enhancing his prestige?
37:06Or are we diminishing the honor of my brothers, aren't we?
37:09The moment the child makes a mistake, it immediately hits him/her in the head.
37:13When we hit someone on the head because they're a hooligan or mischievous in that environment
37:18Think about it, did we enhance that child's honor?
37:21Or have we diminished that child's honor, my brothers?
37:24Allahu Akbar.
37:25Or perhaps my dear brothers and sisters
37:27while talking about a sibling in a social setting
37:30Are we saying things behind his back that would enhance his reputation?
37:33Or are we saying things that would diminish his reputation?
37:37Therefore, God increases the honor of people.
37:40to be among the believers
37:43May God grant it and make it effective.
37:44My brothers, look later.
37:46Revelation has now come to our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
37:49Our Lord is absolute
37:51Bismi Rabbikellezi halak said
37:53And this revelation went to our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
37:57She described our mother Hatice.
37:59Then our mother Khadija became the first woman to embrace Islam.
38:01He described Abu Bakr, our Prophet.
38:03He was the first man to believe.
38:05He described our Prophet Ali.
38:07He was the first child to believe.
38:08And he came, peace and blessings be upon him.
38:10the revelation came
38:12He told it to Zayd ibn Harith.
38:14He was the first slave to believe.
38:16Some of our historians even say that
38:18The first man to embrace Islam after Hazrat Khadija was a man.
38:22They said it was Zayd ibn Haritha, not Abu Bakr.
38:25Because why?
38:26That Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him
38:29because he is one of the people from his family and home
38:32Our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said this...
38:34After explaining the truths of faith to Hatice
38:36"He came and immediately told Zayd," my brothers said.
38:40And my dear brothers and sisters,
38:42Zayd ibn Haritha has one older brother.
38:44He says he has an older brother named Celebe.
38:47Zayd says there is a man superior to me.
38:50They say he's older than me.
38:51They came and said: Celebe
38:53How could Zayd be older than you?
38:55Isn't Zeyd your younger brother?
38:56When they said that, he said no, he's older than me.
38:59He said he's older than me.
39:00So, what do we mean when we say "big"?
39:04By looking at a company's turnover, we can differentiate it from other companies.
39:07We perceive it as economically significant, right?
39:10What do we mean by "big"?
39:11We understand that one person might be fat and another might be skinny, right?
39:14That's always how we imagine things, anyway.
39:15But look, Celebe has made another definition there.
39:18He said, "Zayd is older than me."
39:21Yes, maybe I'm older than him, but...
39:23He said, "He is greater than me in faith."
39:26Allahu Akbar
39:27So, greatness, my brothers.
39:29not in money
39:30Greatness is not in wealth.
39:32Greatness is not in beauty.
39:33Greatness is not in capital.
39:35not in the crowd of the great congregation
39:38Where was the magnitude?
39:41It lay in Zayd's faith.
39:43size
39:44Zayd to our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
39:47It lay in the love she felt.
39:48whoever loves the Prophet more
39:51whoever believes in God's religion
39:52if it serves more
39:54He is the greatest, my brothers.
39:55if he wants
39:56Let him be a 20-year-old young man
39:58Those who do not serve God's religion
40:0170 years old
40:02From an 80-year-old man
40:03Islam says it is greater.
40:04Therefore, my brothers
40:07Let's try to become great.
40:09Explaining the religion of God
40:10Zayd
40:11how to be older than oneself
40:13by his older brother
40:14If such compliments were turned into a fairy tale
40:16Likewise, we too
40:18being great
40:19that he was lying here
40:21to be among the believers who see
40:23Let's work
40:24My brothers, listen one last thing...
40:26Zayd ibn Haritha
40:27Our Prophet (may Allah be pleased with him)
40:29Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
40:31Our Lord
40:32When the tenth year of the prophethood arrived
40:34my brothers
40:35They are setting off on a journey to Taif.
40:36peace and blessings be upon him
40:38Our Lord
40:38lived through years of sorrow
40:40So, our mother Hatice has passed away.
40:41Abu Talib has passed away.
40:43and peace and blessings be upon him
40:45Our Prophet, from his brothers in Mecca
40:47When they saw that they did not accept the case of faith
40:50He said, at least 120 kilometers
40:52I'll go to Taif in the future.
40:53he said there
40:54Let me tell you about the Sakifs.
40:55maybe he said
40:56they said
40:56They believe
40:57Perhaps they will believe
40:59We can do the same, you know.
41:01isn't it?
41:01I went to that neighborhood
41:03I did some work.
41:04The study of Islam
41:05if it didn't work
41:06Let's go to the other neighborhood.
41:07I called this Muslim
41:09He didn't come to the chat
41:10I should at least call the other Muslim.
41:12Let's say maybe he'll come.
41:13my brothers
41:14peace and blessings be upon him
41:15That's what he did.
41:16Okay, these guys are hopeless.
41:18Nobody's ever a decent person anymore.
41:19My brothers didn't say
41:20If they didn't become men
41:22He said these guys will become decent people.
41:23even though I invited them to chat
41:25if he didn't come
41:26Let me call them
41:27Let's say maybe they'll come.
41:28He didn't come this week
41:29Maybe he'll come next week.
41:31let me say
41:31maybe when next week comes
41:34He/She will hear something from me
41:35From the Messenger of Allah
41:36He hears something
41:37He goes and acts upon it.
41:38I live with excitement
41:39That is the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
41:41Our Lord
41:42in this excitement
41:43With Zayd
41:44He went to Taif
41:46Sakif arrived at his sons' side.
41:48and to them
41:48In God's world
41:50What God says must happen.
41:52he said
41:52well
41:53Let's adapt it to our era.
41:55not what democracy says
41:56not what secularism says
41:58Not what Kemalism says
41:59not what communism says
42:00not what liberalism says
42:02not what socialism says
42:04Only
42:04In God's world
42:06What God says must happen.
42:09he said
42:09well
42:09sovereignty
42:10unconditionally
42:11it does not belong to the nation
42:13sovereignty
42:14unconditionally
42:15He said, "It belongs to God."
42:16and monotheism
42:17He glorified the truth
42:19and my brothers
42:20Do you know what they said?
42:21They said
42:22O Muhammad
42:24they said
42:24Allah
42:25finding
42:26a penniless person like you?
42:27He sent us as a prophet
42:28they said
42:29Allah
42:30finding
42:30Amen's orphan to us
42:32sent as a prophet
42:33they said
42:34even one person came out
42:35He said
42:35O Muhammad
42:36he said
42:37if you said
42:37If you are a prophet
42:38I too am the cover of the Kaaba
42:40I am a thief
42:40my brothers said
42:41and there
42:425-year-old
42:436-year-old
42:44to children
42:45They gave them stones
42:46And
42:47peace and blessings be upon him
42:48our lord
42:49They tied him to a stone
42:50my brothers
42:50Allahu Akbar
42:51And
42:53sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
42:54from our master's face
42:55from your eye
42:56Blood started to flow
42:57that is, ours
42:58the one we believe in
42:59Our Prophet
43:00what we believe
43:01These values exist, you know...
43:02you know, the one we missed
43:04You know the morning prayer?
43:05you know, the things we don't care about
43:06we didn't go
43:07We have conversations, you know...
43:08you know, the ones we don't value
43:10We have friends, you know
43:11Here they are
43:12face
43:12covered in blood
43:14remained
43:14my brothers
43:15and Zayd
43:16Don't throw it away
43:17stones said
43:18Don't throw stones
43:20to that noble prophet
43:21Don't throw stones
43:22saying
43:23on it
43:24it was closed
43:24my brothers
43:25And
43:25his too
43:26his face was bleeding
