00:21result depends on your skills, the result depends on what equipment or cosmetics you use. Of course
00:28all of these should be high quality, tested and so on. But there are also some other initial factors
00:35that unfortunately may not depend on the specialist. Sometimes the client is satisfied with everything as
00:42it is. For example like here with my model. I've already shown this fit and here the nail plate on
00:48the big toe grows like this, meaning it becomes very very thick and digs into the distal fold. And of
00:57course I will advise her to go and get an x-ray to determine whether there is an exostosis or
01:02not.
01:02Because it's quite possible that as a result of trauma there is some thickening at the tip of the
01:07big toe, some kind of growth which we often call an exostosis. Well it's hard to determine just by
01:14looking at it, after all you need some tests, yes additional confirmation. So I told her that she
01:20needs to find this out first and then go from there. If it turns out that exostosis is confirmed
01:26then the only way to remove it is surgery, like a real operation. That means you'll need to go to
01:31a
01:31surgeon and have the part that has grown and is sticking out removed. And it's important to
01:35understand that my job or the job of another practitioner is to explain to the client that
01:41if we do it this way, this will happen. And if we don't do it this way, then things will
01:47stay the
01:48same as they were. And then it's up to the client, it's their decision and of course their responsibility.
01:55And very often there are situations like this. When we try, we explain and for us it's all so
02:01important, so serious and we even worry more than the client does. And the client is fine with
02:06everything, they don't want to do anything. And that doesn't mean the client is bad or the
02:10specialist is bad. And I want everyone to stop being tormented by guilt. Of course we should do
02:17everything we can. I want every specialist to try to explain to their client any possible
02:22consequences or any fears about what is happening with their client. But sometimes people are just
02:30fine with things as they are. Here for example, this client has a thickened nail plate that digs
02:36into the fold, as I mentioned earlier. And nothing will change, no matter how much we clean it up.
02:43But the funny thing is that she is satisfied with the visual appearance, the condition of her feet
02:48after the debridement. She won't go get an x-ray because she doesn't want to. And moreover,
02:55even if exostosis is confirmed, she won't go get surgery because she is fine with it.
03:01And that's not bad or good, she is just satisfied with everything. Nails aren't her whole universe,
03:06like they are for me, for you or for many of us. These are just her nails. And I've already
03:11talked about her before. She works in Toliatti, at one of the most famous Russian factories.
