00:00Dabo Sweeney, could he be leaving on his own terms?
00:04This is his last year at Clemson.
00:06Lift it or leave it.
00:08I'll leave that because I think they'll do enough.
00:11The only door that I always thought he might walk through was Alabama,
00:15being an Alabama former walk-on, played for Gene Stallings, all that.
00:20I always thought maybe that would happen.
00:23I'm going to say he does enough this year.
00:26Maybe they go 9-4.
00:28Or who knows, if they win against LSU in Week 1
00:32and the potential repercussions of that.
00:35But I'm going to say leave it because I think he'll hang around a little bit longer.
00:40He's too young to retire.
00:42And I think I can't see him coaching anywhere else right now.
00:45So I'm going to say he stays.
00:47Yeah, I'll leave it too.
00:49He's starting to adapt to the NIL transfer portal era a little bit.
00:52So that's a little bit of reassurance for me as far as is he going to be able
00:56to make it down the road?
00:57He only brought in 11 transfers or so.
00:59But in the next two to three years, if he's still there, I think he will be.
01:03You can see that number start to get higher.
01:05He might start paying his players more.
01:07And then you might see a little bit of a resurgence for Clemson.
01:09So I'm going to try to trust in Dabo.
01:12I mean, he's one of the best coaches in the last 15 or so years.
01:14So I'm going to leave that.
01:16All right.
01:16Lift it or leave it.
01:17If Dabo became available in the next three years, he would be acceptable for Bama fans
01:24as a replacement, assuming that Clemson looks a lot this year like they have last year
01:31and they're not some top 10 program.
01:34I can lift that because if like Steele said, he continues to adapt to the portal and show.
01:40I mean, the guy loves Alabama, obviously, from his time there.
01:45And this would require Kalen being like eight and five or nine, you know, seven and six the
01:49next couple of seasons that it's possible.
01:52So I think that door will always be somewhat open.
01:55I'm just surprised they didn't do it last time.
01:58Right.
01:59But again, maybe Dabo wasn't the guy that wanted to follow Nick Saban.
02:03You know, this is a guy at his height and at the peak of Clemson.
02:06I watched him do it.
02:07I was at both of those games where they just wore out Alabama.
02:11It was wild to watch that one and where Trevor Lawrence and them, they win 44-16 and he's
02:16thrown.
02:17It wasn't even a game.
02:18So he is capable of coaching at that level.
02:21But, you know, one key I wanted to mention, they bring Chad Morris back, the old offensive
02:26coordinator.
02:26And I want to see how that works with that offense.
02:29They need to get going on that side of the ball.
02:31I'm going to leave it.
02:33I want Bama fans to trust in Kalen DeBoer, even though you're coming off of Nick Saban,
02:38you expect the world and you're not getting the world, but you're getting a couple of playoff
02:41appearances, which I think is enough for me in this new era where the talent is just distributed
02:45amongst everybody.
02:46So I just want Bama fans to be a little more high on Kalen DeBoer.
02:50I think he should stay there.
02:51I think he should start to get his roots down.
02:53And sooner or later, he's going to start advancing that Alabama program like they have in the
02:57past.
02:57So I'm going to leave it.
02:59I think Dabo will be a cool addition.
03:00But as a head coach, I think they should just trust in DeBoer right now.
