If you select 'Fight as Maelle', you must defeat Verso in a 1v1 fight. After doing so, Verso begs to stop the painting one last time and pleads with Maelle, repeating "I don't want this life". Maelle emotionally pleads to live the life together that was stolen from them in the real world, and Verso promptly gommages.
